Since then, I've visited on 3 occasions, usually on a Friday, to grab dinner. The restaurant itself is mainly take out and pretty bare bones. They have a window where you place your order, a couple pictures on the wall, and a small countertop seating area to wait or eat at. Above all, its clean. Be mindful though, the restaurant is located right on White Plains Road and only a few steps from a train station. Parking can be tough! 2 out 3 times I ended up double parking, luckily they don't take super long with the food. Now let's talk about the food. Firstly, the menu is a seafood lover's dream. Its comprised of different seafood selections including whiting, porgy, salmon, and shrimp. They also offer either rice or fries as a side and some desserts. I especially love the variety of sauces offered. Each time I've gone there, I've had the same thing, the whiting and shrimp combo. It is consistently (and I say that so happily!) prepared the same way and always delicious! The shrimp is nicely cooked without being overdone or underdone. I also enjoy the seasoning used as it is not too salty or spicy, everything is mild. Whiting is my favorite type of fish and they do a good job on preparing it. Again, its prepared nicely. Being such a delicate and thin filet, they do a good job of frying it without overdoing it. The flesh is always white and moist, while the seasoning is perfect. I must say however, I'm not a huge fan of the fries. They appear to be seasoned but they taste like plain frozen french fries that you can prepare at home. It would be great to have an option for cajun fries, seasoned wedges, or maybe sweet potato fries. Some steamed veggies would also be a plus. I typically get a side of tartar sauce and sweet chili, both super delicious and pair well with the meal. In terms of service, it appears to be a Black-owned establishment. I'm not sure who exactly the owner is but I always see a few young men in the back and I really respect their effort. No matter who I've encountered, they are always kind and respectful from the moment you walk in to the minute you leave. The food seems to be made fresh, so it does take a few minutes but nothing unreasonable based on the menu. In terms of pricing, it appears pretty standard to what I'm used to for this sort of restaurant. I typically pay $26 for my meal which is a good value in my opinion. Overall, I've had great experiences thus far. I will continue to return and I highly recommend to others!
