    Bronx Pollo Parmigiana
    Carissa V.

Stopped in for a solo lunch a few weekends ago and really enjoyed it. I was greeted right away and seated where I could take in the space. It's small and cozy, reminded me of those quaint spots in Philly or NYC. Staff was attentive and everything moved with ease. They start you with fresh bread and a rich olive oil herb dip. I ordered the Pollo Bronx Parmigiana and it was indulgent in the best way. Golden crusted chicken, vodka sauce, melted mozzarella, over rigatoni Alfredo with broccolini. They bring out hot cheese and drizzle it over the top which takes it to another level. There was also this subtle jalapeño vinegar flavor that balanced the cream and tomato really well. Not spicy, just enough to cut through the richness. And of course, I LOVED their wine selection. I went with a Montepulciano and it paired perfectly. This isn't a corner pizzeria, so expect those kinds of prices (more like a sit down, reservation kind of place). I'll definitely be back with my husband and friends.

    | Incredible Hospitality & Atmosphere! I recently visited Mare e Monte on Huebner Road, and I am still thinking about the experience. From the second you walk through the door, you're greeted with a cozy, inviting vibe that makes you feel like you've stepped into a family-owned trattoria in Italy. The dim lighting and white tablecloths strike the perfect balance between upscale and intimate. The customer service here is truly next-level. The staff--and the owner, Prince--are clearly determined to make sure every guest leaves 100% satisfied. They even have a policy where they will cook you another plate if you aren't completely happy with your first choice, which is a level of confidence and care you rarely see anymore. Beyond the food, the wine experience was a highlight. Our server provided endless samples to ensure we found the perfect pairing for our meal, taking the guesswork out of the selection and ensuring absolute enjoyment. Highlights: Vibe: Warm, welcoming, and relaxed--perfect for a date night or a special celebration. Service: Attentive and passionate; they treat you like family from start to finish. Perks: Exceptional wine tasting/pairing and the "satisfaction guaranteed" approach to their entrees. If you are looking for an authentic Italian experience in San Antonio where the staff genuinely cares about your meal, do not miss this gem!

I know I have a new favorite restaurant in town when I stop in not once, not twice, but THREE times in a single month. That was during the month of February after watching an Instagram reel a user posted of the cheesy deliciousness that is the Pollo Bronx Parmigiana entree. I absolutely HAD to try it after seeing the long trail of melted cheese that gets drizzled over the dish. I love everything about this unassuming spot located in a strip mall off Babcock Rd. From its cozy interior and expertly decorated space to the absolutely delicious food and to the incredibly friendly and helpful staff. I can't speak highly enough of Mare e Monte. The food obviously is the true showstopper here and what brought me back so many times after raving about it to multiple friend groups. Hands down my favorite (and again what first brought me in) is the Pollo Bronx Parmigiana dish. All of the flavors of this dish combine together to create something truly incredible for the taste buds and it's definitely a cheese lover's paradise the spicy red pepper jam that they use on the dish really puts the dish over. the edge and gives it a nice pop. The freshly baked (and complimentary) sourdough bread service is also amazing. Make sure you don't let it go to waste like you might at other spots. If the Pollo Bronx Parmigiana perhaps isn't your style, the Pollo e Monte entree is another delicious option. Again another dish that's full of flavor and the duck fat potatoes were soooo good. I predict I'll be back for my next visit very soon and so should you!

We took our family to Marie Monte for an early Valentine's Sunday lunch, and from the moment we arrived, it felt special. Walking up to the restaurant, the cute exterior with a giant bow and Valentine's décor immediately set the mood. The moment we stepped inside, it felt like we had been transported to another world. The kind of place where every detail is designed to make you feel welcome. We arrived around 11:30 AM, and it honestly felt like the entire staff was standing at the front door just for us. The larger-than-life greeting was incredible. The front-end manager even personally welcomed my mother, saying something along the lines of, "welcome home. I want our restaurant to feel like home." That personal touch set the tone for the entire experience. Service: Our server was excellent--attentive, friendly, and thoughtful. Suggestions were spot-on, and all our water glasses were always more than 3/4 full, which is a small detail that really shows attention to guests. Food: Our table of four ordered: * Shrimp Adriatic (appetizer) * Chicken Caesar Salad * Sole with shrimp * Crispy Chicken Piccata * Chicken Parmesan * Tiramisu * Biscoff Cheesecake The Shrimp Adriatic was unanimously a favorite with rich, flavorful, and the sauce was perfect for dipping bread into every last bit. The Caesar salad was simple but perfectly dressed. The crispy chicken piccata was really good and the sauce-to-pasta ratio was excellent. The sole was fresh and received two thumbs up. The chicken Parmesan was a show stopper with an entertaining cheese slide. But the desserts stole the show: the tiramisu had the most balanced espresso flavor we have ever had and the Biscoff cheesecake was light, fluffy, and just sweet enough without being overwhelming. Overall, the food was very good, but the ambiance, service, and staff made this afternoon lunch a truly memorable experience. Ambiance: It's easy to see why this is considered a date-night destination. The décor, the thoughtful touches, and the warm energy from the staff made the restaurant feel special and welcoming. The front house manager even checked in with my parents individually, which made us feel genuinely cared for. Sometimes Seniors get over looked and it was a heartfelt touch. Bill: $140.73 for four people, including appetizers, entrees, and dessert. Worth it for the experience. Final Takeaways: * Perfect for celebrations or a special date * Excellent service and staff attentiveness * Ambiance and décor elevate the meal, even if the food isn't mind-blowing * Shrimp Adriatic and desserts are must-tries Would we go back? Absolutely. Is it the best Italian we've ever had? Not quite--but it's the overall experience that makes Marie Monte unforgettable. Hoping this gem stays around for a long time.

Wowwww! I wish I could give them 10 stars! The experience was above and beyond any expectations...they are in a strip center, but when you step inside, it's decorated super cute and just bursting with personality. We walked up to the door and were greeted by Prince, one of the owners. He opened the door and shook our hands and said welcome home. In fact, he stopped by our table twice during our visit. He made it a point to stop at every table. It was a not holiday Saturday around 430 and almost every table was filled. I think we got the last one and then there were people waiting outside the entire time we were there. The waiter came and took care of us promptly and warmly. He was on point the entire meal. The waiter brought us fantastic fresh bread with olive oil dipping right when we sat down. The wine selection was very good. We couldn't decide on one of the dishes, so our waiter brought out a sample of the sauce for us to try. He also brought us fresh bread halfway through our meal. My friend got the Sole Oregenata with spinach and asparagus risotto. I tried the Spicy Rigatoni and added a meatball. This dish comes with crumbled veal on top, but it was no problem to leave the veal off. Both dishes were so delicious! The tshirts some of the staff wore said "welcome home". Very, very warm and each person seemed genuinely happy we were there and no one seemed rushed, despite them being slammed. The owners are the picture of how to give the guests a wonderful experience from start to finish. Well done! Can't wait to go back!

Amazing Experience! Went here on a recommendation from a close friend and it didn't disappoint! Our waiter (Fatti) was super polite, Attentive, and friendly. The ambiance was nice with wine bottle displays and a homage to Italy all around. The food was absolutely delicious and the dessert was just as good but the tiramisu was the star of the show! Will be coming here again

We had a party of 7 so we had a good wait of 45 min. This spot doesn't take reservations so expect to wait. The vibe is definitely different inside than what I was expecting outside . It's bright and cheerful inside with colorful paintings. We went Easter weekend and the menu was abbreviated which was not expected. A bit disappointed but we stayed since we waited so long. Three of us had the fish with spinach one Added on the shrimp , one no add on and one the scallops. We ordered the lamb chops dinner lamb cooked well and generous sized chops . You can also add on lamb if you want additional. One person had the chicken Parmesan which comes with fettuccine Alfredo and a melted tableside cheese pour. All in all food was good. Italian fare presented by Albanian restauranteurs. We paired with a bottle of wine from a large selection. Many affordable bottles at around 30 . Try for yourself and see what you think

I absolutely love Mare e Monte Italian Restaurant. The atmosphere is relaxed, uplifting, welcoming, and warm from the moment you walk in. The restaurant owner is a true delight. He personally greets each guest, visits the tables, and makes sure everything is running smoothly and that the food comes out just right. You can genuinely feel his warmth, sincerity, and passion for the restaurant, and it shows in the quality of service, which is unforgettable. The complementary warm, fresh bread with a side of olive oil is a top notch delight! The restaurant ensures you are well fed by serving good portion sized plates bursting with spectacular flavor. We make it a point to visit every time we are in San Antonio because of how this place makes you feel, in addition to how good everything tastes. The food is amazing, but it is more than just great flavor. You can taste the care that goes into it and feel the energy in the room. The decor is beautiful and unique, and the overall experience is consistently wonderful. This restaurant is always worth the trip. We will definitely be back. Thank you to the all the staff at Mare e Monte who always makes our experience warm, welcoming and amazing! My family and I see you and appreciate all that you do!

You had me after that first bite, or at least that is what I told the friendly manager when asked how our meal was coming along. Since the meat on a lamb chop is so thin, it takes a skilled chef to prepare it medium rare properly and to not overwhelm the flavor with seasoning. These chops were done so perfectly, that I will be thinking of them for a while, well after I go home tonight. Wifey had the Bronx Pollo Parmigiana, and it may quite frankly rank near the top of my all time favorite chicken encounters. Top 3 for sure. The vodka sauce with melted mozzarella was something special and unlike any combination of liquor and cheese I've ever tasted. I can only imagine how the chef came up with that recipe. Add in the calamari with the spicy marinara sauce for a starter and this evening was heading towards an epic birthday celebration. If you are wondering where to go from here, after having a mixture of spicy, vodka, cheese and meat, then you must have never read my other reviews. Cheesecake! Homemade to be exact. So light, it took my fork to constantly poke it so it would not float away. I encourage everyone to come out, try the interesting menu options to experience a wonderful cuisine and meet some of the most friendly staff in town. Its casual vibe is low key enough, so that even if you are just passing through, it's worth the visit.

Excellent food, I have had the sole, scallops, shrimp and lasagna. All were delicious. A friend had the veal and I tasted it and it was so silk soft. I've had the cheese cake and it was yummy. All the staff are wonderful and attentive to any special requests

Some of the best Italian I have had in a long time. The server we had (Allison) and the manager were super friendly, helpful, and attentive. They have already decorated immensely for Valentine's Day-- so I would love to go back around Christmas time to see what it looks like in there. Food is quality, but a little bit pricier. It is more affordable than other upscale places and is definitely a place to go to impress your date or family, without completely breaking the bank. My bf and I got : an app, drinks, 2 entrees, and a dessert and it was $109

I truly don't have enough words for how good this place is. From our first bite of the Adriatic shrimp to the mains, everything was absolutely incredible - we honestly wanted to order the entire menu. The service deserves its own moment too: genuinely kind, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. The only thing to note (and it's hardly a con in my book): it's a smaller restaurant, so no reservations and limited parking can be a bit of a challenge. Worth it every single time though.

This is my third time coming here, this time for our anniversary, and it never disappoints. I finally remembered to not stuff my face immediately and take some pics of my food, but did not remember before eating the appetizer so that's just my excuse to go back again -- that's seriously how good it is :') We ordered the calamari fritti, lobster ravioli, pollo fontina, cannolis, and a few too many glasses of white wine - literally everything was wiped clean off of our plates. The vibes were great -- everyone was chatting, lights were dim for dinner, and food was incredible. The service is fantastic. The server we had was friendly and attentive, he knew exactly when to come over and ask if I needed another glass lol. The owner was so welcoming and really made it feel like you knew him for your whole life when you were greeted by him walking in. No joke we saw him the next day in Sam's club and he was like HEYYY amazing customers!! You could tell the guy cares about this place/people who choose to go here and that's somewhere we will never stop dining because of the hospitality!

Definitely the best part of the meal, although the gluten free toast was extra brown and crispy. The veggies had great flavor, though. Cons: - Ridiculously overpriced for the quality of the food. - Gluten free pasta was quite overcooked. It was mostly mush by the time I got it. I love that they HAVE gluten free options, but come on, it would help if you cooked them properly. It was barely edible. - Sauce was bland and too sweet. - There was no attempt or offering to make the experience more accessible for my disabled son. No plastic cups, etc. Would be nice if they had more inclusivity. All in all, almost $200 for lunch for a family of four. Definitely not worth the money.

The restaurant itself is along a quiet area of the River Walk in an old stone building with tons of charm. The ambiance was relaxed and inviting, perfect for a group dinner. As for the food, it was good but not exceptional. I was excited for the Goat Cheese Pizza with balsamic onion, pistachio, and saba. The thin crust, however, was almost too crunchy and a bit tough to eat. The toppings didn't stand out as much as I had hoped, likely because they were overbaked together. It was about 60 degrees outside and we kindly asked to turn off the outside fans which were on full blast. Once. Then again, and again, and again. After 5 attempts asking various people we gave up and the waitress let us know she couldnt turn them off because their iPad control died. We waited another 10 minutes before someone else brought us our desert but no check. We asked them for the check and then the original waitress came back with our check and another set of deserts. At some point I saw another server who seemed like the manager or supervisor telling another worker to straighten the tables outside so the corners were aligned... needless to say the table alignment was not the issue. Overall just seemed like the restaurant was overwhelmed and there wasn't alot of communication between tables and the staff. It seems the staff was trying their best but the management wasn't handling it well. Would have appreciated more effort into making sure we were taken care of considering the meal for 2 totaled almost 300$. The only reason this isn't a one star is because of the kind waiting staff.

They should have let her keep it, and brought the veggies on the side. By the time her food came (20 min later) we were almost finished. She didn't want it. We had to ask for a manager, (she should have come over anyway) she wasn't told what happened. We filled her in. We did end up getting the chicken picatta to go and a small order of fettuccine Alfredo. She also offered a free dessert. I'm not sure who needs more training. The cook, server or manager. I don't know how the chicken picatta is, but the rest of the food is pretty good. Large portions and competitive prices. If I'm in the area, maybe we'll go for lunch.

I had dinner at Fife & Farro, the food was good and the atmosphere very pleasant. What really…read moretouched me was the kindness of one the waiters: Abe (I hope I am writing his name correctly). He was able in the most delicate, sincere and generous way to solve my problem. I don't have enough words to thank him. My gratitude doesn't compare to his actions. P.S I tried to call the restaurant several times that night, to speak to Abe, but I always got a recording.

The restaurant is located inside a market, which at first felt a little unexpected for the kind of meal we were about to have--but it actually worked really well and added to the overall charm of the place. From the moment we arrived, the service stood out. Every person we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful, which made the experience even better. Our order was simple: a Caesar salad and a pepperoni pizza. The Caesar salad was much larger than I expected and easily shareable. It was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The pizza arrived quickly, and the wood-fired style really delivered--the crust had the perfect amount of crisp and the flavors were excellent from the first bite to the last. Between the great food, the friendly service, and the lively atmosphere both inside and outside the market, this is definitely a place I'd return to the next time I'm in San Antonio.

We came in to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary on a Friday night and had a phenomenal…read moreexperience! It was a lively atmosphere with live music planning, a backed bar area and a humming dining room. We were given the corner "power" booth and really felt cozy. The staff were friendly and attentive. Our server JT was a sweetheart and did a great job. Our meal started with two appetizers: the Calamari & Meatballs. Both were fantastic and really set the tone of what this place is. The Calamari was perfectly executed - seasoned well and not overcooked. The meatballs were phenomenal and full of balanced flavor, due in part to the heavenly red sauce they were swimming in. These are a must try! We then enjoyed Ceasar salads before our entrees and really enjoyed the balance and flavor they offered. Simple and delicious. The entrees were outstanding! * My wife ordered the Noli's Sautéed Chicken, featuring a sautéed chicken breast and cappellini pasta with basil, capers, sun-dried tomatoes, olives in a white wine lemon sauce. A lighter plate with a fragrant touch, she really enjoyed the combination of flavors. * I went with JT's recommendation and chose the Prime Surf 'N' Turf...this was amazing! A 12oz Ribeye cooked medium rare, topped with two huge fried shrimp, accompanied by a rich and delicious lobster vodka sauce under perfectly baked ravioli. If you are spoiling yourself, this is the choice for you! We can't wait to get back to Albi's Vite and make more memories. In the meantime, you deserve to go make your own!

It was everything I dreamed of lol I ordered the "Marry Me Chicken," and the portion was a lot for me. I haven't had much of an appetite lately so I had the rest for dinner! The waiter even sent us home with fresh baked bread, which my husband and I absolutely devoured with our leftovers The Marry Me Chicken had a little kick to it--I wasn't expecting that, but I liked it! I'm definitely going to look up the recipe and try making it at home. As far as the ambiance, the place wasn't very busy, and the lights were dimmed--mind you, it was only 1pm! I didn't want to go somewhere loud or where I had to wait a long time to be seated. Albi's Vite was a perfect Sunday afternoon for us. Thank you!
