I got the pollo Bronx parmigiana, WOW! They pour the melted mozzarella tableside and usually I'm not a cheese lover but this was so good! My husband got the pollo monte and it was just as good. Soooooo good! Someone posted this place on a restaurant group on Facebook and raved about the food and service so I had to give them a try. I stopped in after doing some last minute shopping for an early Christmas Eve lunch and I just found my new fave spot. The servers were very friendly and accommodating. I ordered the caprese salad and eventhough it was exactly how it was described on the menu, I wasn't a fan. The melon was too overpowering for my taste buds. I wasn't going to say anything, but a server stopped and asked if I had any issues with it, and I explained it was too melony. He asked if I wanted it the original way which I did. They made it over for me and the flavors were perfect. Now for my entree. When I tell you my mouth is watering right now as I describe it. The ravioli was so tender and delicious. The sauce was amazing and the veal was the cherry on top. The place is nice and quaint. It was decorated cute for the holidays. They clean up as soon as a table leaves. It has been a while since I wrote a review, but we were extremely impressed with the service at Mare E Monte. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, inviting, and clean, with soft lighting that created a lovely ambiance. The acoustics made it a little hard to hear at times, though it was clear they have made an effort to manage the sound with acoustic panels. Even so, that was easy to overlook because everything else was spectacular. Lisa was our server, and she was kind, attentive, and wonderful throughout the evening. There were also several team members checking on our table, which made the service feel very thoughtful and attentive. Linens and table settings were changed immediately, and everyone moved with purpose and professionalism. For food, we ordered the Calamari All'Arrabbiata, which had a nice, flavorful kick without being overly spicy. The Sole Oreganata was buttery and delicate, with a soft lemon herb cream, and the risotto was cooked perfectly. The Pasta Al Nero was delicious, and the breadcrumbs gave it a wonderful texture. The true star of the meal, though, was the Blueberry Cheesecake. It was sweet, creamy, almost velvety, and the blueberry compote was heavenly. The brushed chocolate on the plate added just the right hint of dark richness. Everyone was wonderful, and we truly wish them much success. Definitely give them a try. read more

The food was overall good, though my lamb chops were cooked inconsistently. On the plus side, the zucchini on my partner's plate was amazing, and the fresh, warm bread was excellent. The wait staff really stood out-friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable. My only other complaint was the atmosphere. The decor felt a bit overwhelming, with large heart decorations and what looked like leftover Christmas décor, which distracted from the dining experience. From the ladies at the front to our amazing waitress and the rest of the staff, including what I believe was the manager, everyone treated us with incredible hospitality and made sure we were enjoying ourselves. Second visit and it was even yummier than the first. Lots of operational things have improved since their opening and there's a real wine list now (see pic). Ordered the artichoke appetizer, which was so savory. The truffle oil is very light and doesn't overwhelm the marvelous artichoke umami. Beware the addictive complimentary bread and delicious olive oil. It will fill you up. We also ordered an eggplant parmesan for the table. I highly recommend doing this. So good! The sole was tender and moist and luscious. I like mild tender fish. To be fair not everyone at our table likes that type of fish (ie the calamari people) but I loved it. The calamari was well prepared and well seasoned. It could have used more crisp to the exterior though. The chicken Parm was excellent and far more interesting than your typical dish. The service was very attentive. I appreciated our server bringing an ice bucket for the white wine. Not many places still make that effort. Water glasses, ice tea, and wine glasses were kept filled. They make a very nice attempt at fine dining service that is uncommon for a reasonably priced strip mall restaurant. Definitely a dining bang for the buck here. After seeing the very high aggregate reviews, we decided we must visit this local trattoria. As so many have mentioned, the service was exceptional and family members welcomed us at the table several times. As for the food...a mixed bag. The calamari arrabiata was excellent, and the unique caprese salad was nice. Our main courses, however, were average. The chicken was tender and had a decent flavor, but one sauce was flavorless and the other (vodka) sauce was decent but not memorable compared with others I've had. Wow! This restaurant is a must. Joined friends on a Friday evening for dinner and when we arrived there was a line outside the door. Our wait was about 45 minutes and all of that was worth the wait. The food is amazing! We started with the Calamari fritti along with the wonderful bread and oil our waiter Jace brought to the table. We also ordered a side of the most amazing FRESH burratta. Incredible!! I had a wonderful glass in pinot grigio that paired nicely with my chicken piccata dish. My husband ordered the Ravioli stuffed with lobster and our dinner companions had the chicken Parmesan (parmesan sauce is served tableside ) and the Fettucini. Everything we ate was amazing. The salads are large and the kitchen is happy to split a salad into two portions. The restaurant owner came to the table to make certain we were enjoying our time! They do a different kind of Caprice salad with fruit which I also loved. My girl is vegetarian but she will eat scallops (because they don't have eyes) and they added them to her fettuccini Alfredo. They were cold on the inside, not the whole thing though. The food however, very heavy on oil, cream, and cheese, leaving us to feel like this was an Americanized attempt at what simple fresh Italian dishes should be. The pasta Nero lacked umami flavor from the squid ink, the base pure oil, and the shrimp accompanied were chopped into pieces to make it seem like there was more. The add in of scallops was nice for extra protein but not worth the total price of the $45. The orecchiette was very heavy on oil as well and lacking good quality red sauce. The sausage was good, but a little too fried and didn't complement the pasta, which we were searching for under the oil. The appetizer with the shrimp, crab, and asparagus was interesting in flavor.. but the asparagus was all the woody end parts and not the spears. It make the dish feel cheap and reliant on the sauce to make up for it. All in all, this place is okay if your standard is heavy and overly indulgent.. but lacking quality ingredients and care in the execution. read more

By the time we were seated, it was a little over an hour. The owner came outside while we were waiting and introduced himself. He handed one of the guest a can of bread for waiting, similar to what's on the picture. She then passed it around to us. The bread was delicious. We were seated. The place is small so it's very cozy. The table to the left and right were fairly close to us. It was still nicely presented though. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. Provided good suggestions. I had the lamb chops, medium rare. The flavor was good but it was mostly fat on the bones though. It was good nonetheless. I had a side of pasta. Finally got to go for their dinner. There is always a long wait last time was 2 hours but it was the holidays. Today was right at 45 minutes. Like Kevin always says if there isn't a wait on Saturday night probably not going to make it in the restaurant business. Food was delicious definitely worth the wait. We shared the Insalata Primavera and Pollo Bronx Parmigiana plus bread with dipping oil. Plus a couple of glasses of red wine It's the best parmigiana I've ever had. It is a golden-crusted chicken breast topped with vodka sauce, melted mozzarella, and a touch of sweet heat from cherry peppers, served over rigatoni Alfredo and Broccolini. They pour hot mozzarella on it right at your table. OMG!! Highly recommend if you're in the area. Staff was wonderful and very attentive with everything. Our bartender was on point too. Always checking in on us. We sat at the bar to wait but did eat the salad including bread. Then got a table for our main entree. Water and bread continued to be taken care of. Even the owner checked in on us twice once at the bar then seated at table. And thanked us again on way out of restaurant. Food portions were a lot. We shared and still have left overs. I'm pretty full. Best Italian I've had in a very long time. I'm not sure if he's going to expand there or not. But I feel like they may outgrow that space. This was simply an incredible lunch from ambiance, to staff to the meal. When you walked in, you were warmly greeted by most of the available staff. Our server, Melania, was a true gem who walked us through the menu, suggested some favorites of hers and was ready to answer any and all questions. We started with the calamari, which were tender and not over coated or over cooked. I had to try the chicken Parmagean after seeing it on a local TV restaurant segment. After the servers brought my plate out, a chef came with a pan of melted cheese and poured it over the top! The chicken had a crunchy coating which added another layer of flavor and texture. Even though it had this layer, the chicken was tender and moist. It rested on a layer of broccolini and pasta which made for not only a delicious "side" but was visually appealing as well. One bite and you rolled your eyes thinking "Where have you been all my life?" My wife had the lobster ravioli which were huge and filled with lobster meal and cheese which was rich and delicious. We finished by sharing a piece of Tiramisu, which was light and decadent. The owner came by to visit and check on our dinner which was a very nice touch. This is our 3rd trip to this fabulous restaurant. We both had new dishes so I needed to report. Had a doctor appt off Spurs Lane, so this is so convenient for lunch. We could pick our table so we grabbed the table under the moon. Why had all the other people not taken this table ???? They also have a new map on the wall. Now the new dishes. The wife had the lobster ravioli. A nice taste of lobster and the sauce was not over whelming. She enjoyed 6 or so and took 3 raviolis home. The pork chop caught my eye last time so that is what I ordered. It must have started over an inch thick and butter flied. It was huge so took half home. It was so tender and topped with fig jam and pecans. Served with a greens salad. So good. You need to come and eat this! Service so good. Prince the owner talked to us. So nice. He told us that everything was fresh. No walk in freezer. 4 Sous chefs on duty in the kitchen. Very good prices for the servings. We will have a delicious dinner again tomorrow. Checked up us often and quick to refill tea, patient while we visited. Didn't feel rushed at all which was nice. Ambience - clean, comfortable with linen and cloth napkins. It's always the little things that make a difference. Not noisy so we didn't need to shout at one another. Another little thing! Food - I got the Sole served over an asparagus and spinach risotto. The experience at Mare e Monte is unparalleled. We went in on a Tuesday night, it was incredibly busy (a great sign) but they still managed to get us immediately seated at a table. They're all decorated for Christmas right now and boy do they go all out. There was a huge tree in the center, garland wrapped posts. The whole set up was awesome. Our server was so friendly. She got our drinks and appetizer out so fast I was shocked. We had the calamari fritti to start, it was perfectly fried and very tender. We had the orchette pasta and the Bronx parmigiana. We loved both. We stuffed ourselves and still had left overs. The owner came over and joked with us about how we weren't really that hungry. He asked about the food and ensured if there's anything we didn't like to please let him know because it's important to him to deliver the best food possible. The owner is something else. He walked to every table multiple times to greet them with a "welcome home" he would make recommendations, tell jokes, ask questions, shake hands and hold the door when people were on the way out. I haven't seen an owner more involved and happy to be at their restaurant. My husband and I will 1000% back. We're planning on making a standing monthly date night reservation and beyond that will be bringing family/friends frequently. read more

A friend sent me a reel of this restaurant pouring the mozzarella table side over this Chicken Parm dish. It looked amazing! Pasta with Alfredo sauce, topped with broccolini, breaded chicken with a semi-spicy red sauce. Then the magic! An extra pan with melted mozzarella was poured over the plate before my eyes! It was fun, but more importantly it was delicious! The staff were super attentive and the owner spoke with us multiple times. He apologized for the wait! We only waited 20 minutes on a Saturday night so no apology needed! I knew that seeing a packed restaurant was a good sign and worth a wait.
