Went on a Tuesday night. Walked in to an almost empty restaurant. Was told to pick a spot. Passed up on 4 dirty tables to find a least dirty table. Chose the fried basket option with choice of 3. They had no oysters or chicken strips so had only fish and shrimp to choose from. They had gator tail but refused to substitute it without an up charge. So I got double fish and shrimp. Fish and shrimp were clearly prepackaged, pre breaded frozen and unseasoned. Fries were pretty good (how hard can that be? Don't waste your time or money. read more

I can't tell you how excited I was to find a place to serve crawfish so close to home. Unfortunately, I was excited for NOTHING! Let me preface this by saying I understand that "times are tough" and for some ridiculous reason, people don't seem to want to work anymore. It's pretty pathetic when every place I walk into has a sign posted asking for people to "be patient" because "nobody wants to work." Just absolutely crazy! So, we tell them No Worries! We are here for great conversation amongst ourselves and this plans on being our evening! Just looking to have a little of what we hear to be some pretty good seafood! Its 6pm. So we have great conversation amongst ourselves with complete understanding they are getting their asses kicked. There are a total of four, maybe five tables. No groups over 3 people. First we order drinks from the bar. I don't drink very often, but I know what a good drink is and what it's not. My strawberry "margarita" (if you could even call it that) was straight syrup. Not an ounce of liquor in it. I took one drink and sent it back and asked for a plain Tito's and Water. It was equally awful. I've never tasted Tito's that was so bad. Oh well... I just won't drink it and they'll remove it from my ticket. WRONG! Not only did we pay for the margarita I didn't drink, but also got hit for the vodka I sent back as well. Hopefully the food will be better... We order 1lb shrimp and 2lb crawfish ... "it's a Cajun place". Both both orders come out closer to the cooler side of warm. I take a deep breath before going to town and I'll be damned if I couldn't even get my mudbugs out of the shells because they've been overcooked and the left to cool for so long ‍. COULD NOT EAT IT!! We threw our hands up and said well... let's haul ass to sonic before they shut the ice cream machine early in order to have it clean by closing time and Ice cream for dinner it was lol. Not only was the food/drink awful, but we were charged FULL PRICE FOR EVERYTHING! Over $107!! Not to mention the extra 3.9% charge for USING A DEBIT CARD!!! It was obvious the girl serving us had never waited tables, so we offered some grace with a 15% tip, but it will be the last penny Mardi Gras MP sees from us. read more

This place has sooo much potential. Simple fixes such as getting all the broken games and pool tables out of there. Super trashy looking but totally fixable with a simple cleaning. Waitstaff was spread thin making it hard to order refills, and handle anything more than the basic needs. Food was great tho. Stopped in tonight for dinner after hearing about this place. I was excited to take my family out, but I should've read the reviews first. We were the only group in the restaurant (which should've been my first clue after noticing the dusty and dated decor), but our server was precious and very helpful. For that she gets 5 stars. The food however was really..bad. I ordered the appetizer sampler of stuffed shrimp, fried mushrooms, and fried pickles. Everything was over seasoned and so salty it would make your lips curl. Then we ordered dinner. I got the Cajun Dinner platter. The roux of the gumbo was thin and tasted frozen previously. The boiled shrimp were ok, but also salty and over seasoned. My parents said their steaks were very tender and cooked well, but neither of them finished their dinner and we brought it home as a snack for the dogs. It may be time for this place to re-evaluate what they're serving, and shutter the doors. I had a better time at the bar in the same building years ago singing karaoke. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but seriously. Take your money elsewhere. read more

This restaurant used to be good. Now the food is just fried from a box junk. Oysters were about the size of a quarter, boudin balls were burned, stuffed shrimp was a frozen fried shrimp With cheese in it. We were sadly disappointed. They were out of several items we ordered. Four of us decided to try this place as we were wanting seafood. If you want/like Cajun food then this is the place to come. I don't so my review will be based on the other 3 people's opinions. The crawfish is well seasoned, corn and potatoes same as most other places. My husband had the chicken fried steak (real steak, not frozen) breaded just right, with gravy (house made) which was delicious along with fries, a roll and corn. Salsa is house made also and very good. I ordered the grilled shrimp and unfortunately I didn't tell them not to season it with Cajun seasoning, so they did. They were grilled to perfection, just too spicy for me. The only down side is whoever cooks has a heavy hand with the salt. That's the reason for the 3star rating, if the food hadn't been so salty, I would have given it a 5 star rating. It is a large place with outside patio and music. Like I said, want Cajun seafood? Come to this place, just don't salt it before eating. read more

Most underrated thing on the menu - Cajun tamales! Give them a try as a side or order the Cajun tamale dinner with gumbo and shrimp!

This place is the poorest excuse for a business. The place smelled like a pig pen. They had no salad, no crawfish tails, no wings, we finally asked what do you have? Worst. Place ever!! Drinks suck! High prices for $3 alcohol. Ask for premium $36 dollars for house long island that suck and margarita with shot. Food was not fresh syco special. Heard great things about this place from quite a few people. Took my wife tonight for Valentines Day. Got seated in the back in a very dim lit room where all the chairs were still stacked on the table. The waitress asked us to take our chairs off the table and have a seat. She apologized about the lighting and joked about it being romantic. We sat at the table and it was very dirty. Still had dried food, spilt drink, crusty stuff and dust all over it and we had to ask 3 times for a rag. We actually put our silverware in our laps because we didnt want them touching the table. We got our appetizer before we ever got a rag to clean the table. I had heard good things about the crawfish so we decided to order a few pounds. They didn't taste bad but after eating a few and thinking that the seasonings we just applied fairly thick we realized that they were still covered in dirt or sand. We had gritty dirt and sand in our mouths and couldnt finish the food and we eat crawfish all the time. Never had this happen. On top of it all, we thought our waitress was bringing us refills without us asking. I noticed that the new glass was tea, not Dr. Pepper. Before i could say anything, another customer came over and informed me that those were their drinks that she had just refilled. She put someones elses used glasses in front of us to drink. About this time other people were starting to come in and the turned on the lights in the room we were in and started seating these people in the same room. They also were complaining about dirty tables. We were greatly dissapointed with the entire dining experience. Maybe it was a bad night for them but regardless, it wasnt that busy theres no reason anyone should have to dine like that. I will say we spoke with the owner after we left and he was very apologetic and informed us that if we came back to be sure to ask for him and he would make everything right. This place is outstanding. If you are looking to have a great meal at a fair price the restaurant side is the place to go. The menu has a vast selection with squally being my personal favorite . The staff are friendly and the service is excellent. If you are looking for more than just dinner plans then the bar side is where you need to go. The bartender will do an amazing job taking care of you and you can still order from the menu. The local bands are great and the dance floor is well kept. On other nights the music is on point and the company makes for a more than satisfactory enviorment after a hard days work or a long drive if you are traveling. In a world full of 2 star locations..... I give this place a solid 5. Because 10 is not an option. read more

It's always a hit or miss if the food will be any good. I only go here during crawfish season but the servers always mess up your order or ignore you. I watched two tables walk away after waiting 20 minutes to have their drink order taken, another 15 to receive the wrong drinks, and then not have a server return. If I lived off of my tips then I would at least try to give decent service. There are other places that you can get the same menu items or you might as well stay home and cook it yourself. read more
