great products, good service , friendly people, but there deli needs help, the other day it took 25 min to get 3 items and when i got home they were sliced wrong! hope they get that figured out soon! read more

The Marc's on Henderson Rd. In Columbus is a joke. Cashiers are completely inept and incapable of the most basic pleasantries such as "Hello, did you find everything ok"? and "Thank You", or even telling you the total of the sale. They just stand there, yawning. I've shopped here for over 10 years, and they constantly lower the bar on their employee standards. A few of them are courteous and capable of a basic checkout transaction, if you get one of those employees to ring you out, then you are lucky. However, you are usually bagging everything yourself, or else your Tide ends up bagged with eggs. The glazed over looks on their faces tells it all. Half witted and dead inside. And if you are really lucky, you'll be followed to your car by the "cart guy" who will stand there, waiting to take your cart creepily, as you load your groceries into your car. Nothing like being stalked through the parking lot for your cart. And on special occasion, there is a distinct smell of sewer that wafts through the store, it hits you like a ton of bricks when you walk in. I pretty much sprint through the store when that happens, it's very nauseating! The redeeming factor is the that the prices are decent, which is the only reason I've kept shopping here for so long. read more

This is the #1 thing I miss about Columbus. I will not find 49 cent roma tomatoes, 99 cent cottage cheese, 3.99 cold pressed extra virgin olive oil, 99 cent red peppers, or 99 cent raw almonds here in DC. I love this store.. brings tears to my eyes. It is very cheap and has the best prices hands down anywhere. Whole black pepper, Cinnamon, dill weed, oregano.. all 2 for a buck! I miss you Columbus. read more

The assistant manager unbelievably rolled her eyes at me when I nicely asked if, instead of returning an item with a receipt, would the store consider price matching a closeout item that they marked down? It was a simple question and I wasn't expecting the volatile reaction that came after. Then I called her on it and said that I'd have to report her unacceptable attitude to your corporate office, and she said "go ahead" and so I did. Asked another manager for the corporate number on my way out, and he said he didn't know. Seriously? I've been pretty pleased with the store, its staff, product and price offerings until this incident happened. I hope my Asian background didn't have anything to do with it. Just sayin. read more

Every time I've gone here the food is expired or will expire in a day or two. I don't want to buy stuff that is expired I want fresh food. The produce here has not looked very good either. I will admit it is a great place for other things gift bags and things like that. You can get those much cheaper here then anywhere else but if I was going to get grocery items I definitely would not come here read more

The prices here can't be beat. However, the service leaves you wondering if the cheap prices are worth it. I have yet to meet a nice, smiling employee. I enjoy a great shopping experience and great prices. Unfortunately it seems like you only get the cheap prices. I'll continue to go for the prices, but honestly I dread going in every single time. read more

Marc's is the place I do my main grocery shopping for selection, pricing and it's amazing closeouts. Once in a great while I do see veggies on the floor but certainly no more and sometimes less than the major grocery stores and always less than the Walmart stores. read more

Ok, Ok the produce is sometimes suspect, and they never have enough checkout lanes open, but I still love Marcs. You can't buy everything at Marcs, but you can do the majority of your shopping at a fraction of the cost. 6 bags of groceries at Marc's is the equivalent of 3-4 bags at Giant Eagle...do the math. read more

Okay, I decided to try Marc's after reading some of the reviews here. Let's start with the appearance, it is a discount place so my expectations are low, and they were met. If you are a snob about cleanliness then, simply, don't go here. I would not say it is the worst, but it won't be winning any awards anytime soon. I grab my first Item a box of Cheerios and looked at the price, I am sorry, they were a few cents more then Kroger. I grabbed my next item deodorant (for my wife) also more money, so, I stopped right there put everything back and drove across the street to the Kroger. Bottom line is that there may be a few items that are cheaper then the others stores, but not enough to keep me interested or coming back. Go to Wally's, Meijer, or Target, but I don't believe that anyone who has posted that there are good discount prices here was shopping in the same store I was. I like discounts too. Has anyone been to Aldi's limited selection but there I found some discounts, not too many name brands though, but that I will leave for a different review. So, I am simply going to discourage anyone from shopping at Marc's unless it is convenient or you are just happy with mediocre prices. Because, the brand names are what they are so they are going to taste the same everywhere save yourself the trip and gas money and be happy elsewhere. Good Luck and happy shopping read more

OK, Marcs is fantastic but I hesitate to even let this be too widely known because I do not want to shop in a crowded grocery store. Not to worry since my other reviews are shelved by Yelp as being "unreliable" as they are gramatically correct. The fluoride dumbed down quotidian writer, evidently, is what their bot discerns as 'reliable'. But I digress. Do you want to pay three times as much as you need to for the same things at the grocery store? Then go somewhere else. This place is cool and cheap and clean and nice. What else do you want? Oh, and the music they play is fantastic. It rivals the music choices of Greg Garcia for Earl bumper music. read more

Marc's is one of my favorite grocery stores to go to when I dont have an actual grocery list. They are a discount grocery store so sometimes they dont have everything you are looking for but its well worth the trip in the money you'll save, plus the first section of the store is always filled with random junk that is well worth stopping in often to cruise. read more

Just for all C-BUS folks who have either never heard of or shopped at a MARC'S store. Those of us transplanted Clevelanders will tell you-MARC'S is FANTASTIC! You get the same cereal for $3.99 at MARC's that costs almost $5 at a regular grocery store! They have everything! Even fresh produce and meats-their ground turkey is outta this world-and usually its around $3.00! I hope you go soon! read more

Marc's is one of my favorite groceries stores! Their prices are amazing, and I really love that they have a great selection of healthy grains/seeds (chia seeds, flax seeds, quinoa, different whole-grain flours, etc). I also love shopping their produce - yellow, orange, and red peppers were only $0.99 the other week! The staff is also very nice and respectful. read more

I've shopped at Marc's a few times since moving to the area and will probably continue to do so in the future. They're a discount grocery store, so their prices are comparable for Aldi, but they carry name brands and accept credit cards. Very easy to pop in and grab a basket of essentials for less than $20. The staff is friendly and helpful. I haven't had to wait in line long. Walking in reminds of Kmart or a really old Odd Lots building. The aisles are laid out in standard grocery fashion but the departments seem to be placed randomly with no smooth flow or transition. You can be walking down a food aisle then suddenly find yourself in housewares, food, then somehow in clothing before you're back to food. So while they have cheap prices and name brands, they're very limited on their selections despite the size of some aisles/departments. For example, there is entire counter display dedicated to peanut butter and only peanut butter. No other nut butter alternatives. They also carry a small selection of Boca and Morningstar products while is always nice. read more

Ok. If you don't mind that it's nasty, it's a good place to go. I mind. And, be careful driving through the parking lot. There are usually very strange people coming out of there and they will walk right in front of your car while they are talking to the voices in their head. read more

I used to shop at the Marc's back home with my dad all the time when I was younger. I remember getting all kinds of cool things from their closeouts section, so I was excited to check out the Columbus location. Let's just say I was disappointed with what I found. The store is dirty and unkempt. I don't find the closeouts to be as cool as when I was a kid. The food selection is lacking and not as cheap as I expected. I've given this store a few chances, but I don't really think I'll be back. read more

This place is a hidden gem. You have to be prepared to search for what your looking for but also understand that you may not find that one particular item that you need. The inventory changes all the time. read more

I love Marc's! Where else can you get cheap moisturizer, inexpensive organic fruit and veggies, a huge patio set for $140, a ridiculous amount of international foods, and some eyeliner while keeping the money in the community and state? Marc's is an Ohio-based discount store with a grocery and more. Each store has a "close outs" section which can contain just about anything: yard gnomes and fairies, bras, ginormous stuffed bears, nice luggage, mismatched socks, seasonal candy, tools, and other random stuff like metal trays with old school advertisements emblazoned on them. Each week holds something new. If you see something you like, you'd better buy it. There's a really good chance it will never be there again. This particular Marc's has a large selection of organic foods - grains, veggies, fruits, meats, and more. It has a bunch of wines as well. My favorite is all the international canned and boxed foods. Latin America, Poland, the Middle East, Greece, and more are represented. I love that I can come out of Marc's having purchased everything from shampoo and deodorant to chicken, onions, and sofrito and spend a lot less than going to any Kroger, Giant Eagle, or Wal-Mart. AND! the money stays right here in Ohio. Take that Wal-Mart. read more

I would say Marc's is pretty good if you're going away from a weekend and need to stock up on junk/drunchy food for a large number of people on the cheap! Layout is screwy, old discarded grocery shelving and checkouts haphazardly pieced together. Definitely minimal shopping "experience," but good place for processed, American food on the cheap. Okay okay I saw some Kashi brand stuff and fancy orange juice but it's your typical bad grocery store food. They have an impressive booze section - $2.99 for bottles of wine. I'm sure there are lots of other hidden gem foods brands and just hidden gems in general if you look and have the time. Kinda like the consignment shop for a grocery store or Forever 21. I believe the trade off here for steeply discounted prices is no coupons or card member savings and no fuel perks, but I could be wrong about coupons - they probably accept manufacturer's coupons. Ah okay I really don't know much about their coupon policy! read more
