First off, the vibe here is very old-school early-1970s local neighborhood store. Its stock is...well...jumbled. It's got lawn items & clothing & dishware & ...automotive??...& whatnot on one side, food on the other, and not very clear sections. I mean, the sections are *marked*, but after finding certain specific items in at least five different & separate sections -- they need some serious organizational help. I normally don't mind scavenger hunts, but not in a store where I'm trying to get what I need and go home. Selection is basic (someone in another review compared it to Aldi's, but it's not as organized as Aldi's), though with a lot of name brands. Everything is pre-packaged; no bulk items (save candy) and limited selection of those. However, to the good, there were surprises: they've got a decent amount of sugar-free, organic, & international items (chorizo!), the produce section was well-stocked & fresh, and they had a lot of local/ohio-made items. The biggest "to the good" was the pricing: it was easily MUCH cheaper than Kroger's. So if you don't mind a bit of disorganization, definitely give this place a try!

There's a huge parking lot and it's convenient to do your bargain shopping with Ollie's and Goodwill being right next door. It's just like any other Big Lots with nicely laid out merchandise. Everything was clearly labeled with the price, and at least with the electronics, they seemed decently discounted. I didn't really interact with any of the employees here. The whole store seemed a little dead, and I was questioning if it was even open when I came in. I was just wandering around alone for a good portion of the trip, and it was slightly eerie. While shopping we had found these soft sided cases that had no tags or pricing stickers on them but they were thrown in one of the 6or8 bins in the clearance section with only one sign seen on the entire multi-bin display saying $1. We get to the register explained they were in a bin in the clearance and no stickers etc. the manager Mike , maybe new ive never seen him, happens to walk by as the cashier is explaining that she sees them in her book and they are 3.99. The manager says yeah they are 3.99 I'll go take a picture. I said no need it's fine we aren't getting them we were only getting them because they were a dollar. He comes back a few minutes later shoving his phone in my face saying see they are 3.99 there is the sign (buried in the bottom of the crate where you cannot see it) I said maybe you should mark the individual product so people know the price considering they are in the clearance section under the $1 sign its confusing. He had the audacity to say 'Well it's not my job. Apparently you don't have a job!' seriously I didn't spend over a hundred dollars in there to be insulted by the slob of a manager. Even though they were only $5, it was worth it to take back to the store - and buy some other stuff! The return process was super quick and simple as the clerk knew what he was doing. So with empty arms I went to check my usual sections - clothes first. Work out clothes or t's or sweats. Today's find was a very colorful simple pair of spandex-like shorts. I had recently bought a plain colored pair and found they fit well. So another pair was worth $5. There were some other cute things I could have used but not in my size. So on to the incense. Their stock of incense was still pretty slim. And they had raised their prices almost double since I was last there. ($2 before and $3.25 now. we're talking within 3 weeks here) So no sale for me thank you very little. On to the books. I didn't spend a whole lot time as I know I don't really read hard cover books and I never seem to use the journal or writing prompts. However, there was a nice bound plain lined paper volume that I could not NOT buy. I have enjoyed several like this for special projects (i.e. yoga teacher training or mastermind series) and I didn't have a blank one on hand. So now I do. $5. Last stop - flavored sunflower seeds. Dollar Tree ($1.25 tree) nevers seem to have the flavored sunflower seeds in stock - except the ranch which is way too salty. So I splurged and got the jalepeno and ranch flavored bags. $2 each. So with those finds in hand, I headed to the register. You ring yourself up which is nice and quick. I learned the first time there that the scanner sensors are super sensitive so I carefully swiped each tag and moved into the bag (to avoid ringing things up more than once). I'm a hard copy receipt person so I got to choose to print one out. Grabbed the receipt and was on my way. I'll probably be back the next time I have something specific I need that they carry. And I know I'll find new products to pick from at that time. Always new inventory but also the basic staples for tech and sporting goods. And almost always a good deal.

It's huge, and there are affiliated stores on either side, so you could spend a lot of time here. This part is like a dollar store times 10. Big, with all sorts of cheap stuff. Want a coffeepot? What color? How shiny? A microwave? RC toys? Squirt guns sized for toddlers? (I was tempted, then pictured Baby K chasing the cats around.) Dried peppers? Got 'em. Dried seaweed? A cookpot big enough to feed a family of 10? Yep. Hey, you know those plastic trays you get raw veggies for parties in at Kroger? Yeah, they have them, in all shapes and sizes. For $1. Most things are a dollar, though some are more, even closer to average prices. But you will find great deals in general. Not as much penny candy as I hope for at discount stores, or as much food in general, but a ton of household items, clothes, etc. I ended up with a box of chocolate-topped butter cookies, the ones you pay $3-4 for at a grocery store. They were $1. We'll see if they're any good, but frankly, I am already happy. Service was good. The aisles were a little chaotic but not crazy. The lot... Well, someone dinged my car door literally right in front of me. But it's an old car, already a little beat up, and she was a granny using a cane, so I didn't say anything. Greeter said "I saw you putting things in bags but didn't see you pay" Hmmm ... my bill was $16 and I of course paid quickly with my debit card. I also had popped in the store quickly for a few things I had forgotten PRIOR to picking up my online $265 order outside at the pickup area! Really insulting and gross. The thing is, h the greeter who stopped me sees me in and out of the store several times a week so highly unlikely that I am a criminal.
