I have found Marcos to be consistently good and fast! The coupon pricing is where it's at. I would not recommend otherwise. They have a new app which is an improvement. You can track your pizza real time. Typical waits no more than 25 minutes pick up. I would not recommend calling and save yourself time. Everyone is thin on staff. I don't usually like chain pizza restaurants, but Marco's is one of the few pizza places left in the area that serves up quality pizza for a reasonable price. The thick crust is especially noteworthy with cornmeal on the bottom. It's tasty and has a texture reminiscent of good Northeast pizzas. There are usually coupons to be found as well. read more

I ordered online but I wasn't sure it went through. So I called them the man I spoke with was very kind and helpful but he apologised that I was just outside of their delivery area. He suggested I try the new facility that had taken over some of their area. I was disappointed but understood you cannot go everywhere after all. A little while later they delivered a pizza with the best crust and sauce..... totally YUMMMmmm....... I also ordered a salad which was exceptional fresh and varied with a topping of shredded Parmesan cheese. Which took me and my husband both to devour. Thinking I wasn't going to get Marco's before it was delivered I ordered Channello's. Since they arrived about the same time we decided to do a taste test. Marco's was the clear winner, the crust was superior and Channello's was just a surface for toppings. The sauce comparison was similar as well as the cheese. OMG the combination was epic. This is by far the best chain pizza place out there. They have a really good crust, with many good options. They also have excellent quality toppings; I really like their old world pepperoni red onions. They bake a quality pie, and the service and speed are solid as well. Are there local pizza places that are better? Of course, but when you don't feel like going out and want to get a pizza delivered while you watch TV on the couch, you can't do much better. They are a solid B+ player in the pizza game, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. I'm glad they're expanding into Hampton Roads, and they're in my rotation. read more

Not only is there a $5.00 delivery fee added to each online or verbal order for delivery. The owner/manager/employees can't tell you where that money gets applied. And trust me I'm just TWO miles away from my house, and walking distance to Marco's. HAD I knew they would harass a child about "tip" money I would have picked it up and took it home. $5.00 delivery fee PLUS $4.00 (cash tip) I took to Marco's b/c I find it RUDE to harass a child for "tip" money. That in all is $9.00...total for a simple delivery less than a tank of gas away. I ordered online, b/c when I call in to place an order they never have the day or time to take my order and always end up messing it up. My disappointment lies in the fact that there is no ability to place an order with this restaurant after 11:30. I think if you are a pizza place that stays open until midnight on fridays, you would take orders up until at least there was no longer time to complete a pizza order before midnight. Trying to place an order at 11:40 for a simple pizza and they can't do that because they don't take orders that late. Marco's is the family's "go to" in Virginia Beach for pizza carry out. Good deals to be had on menu specials. We usually get two large pizzas (one a specialty and one a two-topping) for $28, which is like a $10-$12 savings. Good amount of toppings and even a good amount of cheese so you don't even need to get extra cheese, like most places (Domino's, Pizza Hut and Little Caesar's in particular). You can get different crust options too at no additional cost, so that's good; although my wife's only complaint is that the crust isn't crispy enough. I have seen on the menu that they have a crustless pizza (in a bowl) that I'd like to try some time, but haven't yet tried. Service is good, friendly and fast. Suggest giving it a try if you're struggling to find a good carry out location at a reasonable price. read more

I am updating my review that's posted below. I ordered a Medium BBQ chicken Pizza and a Medium Pepperoni Pizza. The total came out to around $30. I am changing from a 5 star to a 4 star review due to the price of the pizzas. I would also say customer service because I called in my order and was not informed of the current special. When I went to pick up the pizzas, there was a sign that stated 1 Large specialty pizza and 1 Large 2 topping pizza for 21.99. It would've been nice for the employee to tell me that before letting me order 2 Medium pizza for $30! So please ask for specials before you order! It could save you money and possibly a larger pizza! I wish their pizzas weren't so expensive. Marcos is new to the neighborhood but I am impressed! If you have never tried the BBQ chicken pizza then I would highly recommend it. That has now become my favorite and go to pizza. I'd also recommended getting all of the seasonings on the crust. I just came back from the Carribean for vacation and couldn't wait to get Marcos Pizza. I doubt I will order from any chain pizza places again. If you like pizza, give Marcos a try! read more

We love the taste of Marcos pizza but tonight were more than disappointed. We ordered pizza about an hour and a half ago at 9pm we asked it be delivered, the man said 50 minutes. Mind you we gave them a card over the phone and were charged. An hour goes by we call to get an update we understand things don't always go as planed. We were on hold for at least 5 minutes just to be forwarded to a voicemail stating they were now closed, it is 10pm they close at 11pm. We tried to call back and got the same thing, no answer, nothing. We DROVE up there for them to tell us they were too busy and cancelled our order not letting us know and charging our card. We received NO apology, no sympathy by any means. Absolutely awful customer service. Their only kept saying, "We were too busy." You should have called us back at minimum! read more

First off if you are ordering over the phone be prepared to spend a few minutes listening to the automated system, before you can actually speak to someone! Second the order it self after you speak to someone, it had taken a few minutes for them to get the phone number and name right, it sounded like their phone line was either to close to there equipment or just a bad connection! Third, it is a take out or delivery location. No seats of you want to eat there! So we waited 30 minutes for the pizza, it came out hot and fresh so the wait was ok! Upon first observation the pizza looked great! Extra pepperoni like we requested the pizza was covered! Taste-Crust was excellent with garlic butter on it, had nice a chewy texture! Sauce-missing it was the smallest amount of sauce I'd ever seen on a pie! Cheese tasted processed, and pepperoni were sliced super thin but I could live with that! Over-all not bad pizza for your money, I would consider this more of a hybrid pizza shop! It's slightly better than LC,PH but not as good as your local mom and pop shop, which are area is in need of! I was working in Hampton and one night I worked late so the evening engineer ordered a pizza. I was on my way out the door when he offered me a slice. It was smelling heavenly so I took a slice and headed to my car. Before driving off I ate it. It was seasoned to perfection. Fast forward 9 years later and I happen to see Marcos on my way to work (VA Beach). I was so excited I almost missed my turn. That evening I placed an order for pickup. The guy was so nice and patient especially when he asked me the seasoning I wanted in the crust. There were 3 and he suggested I choose all 3, sure! I took it home and told my finicky husband that I stopped and picked up a pizza and did he want a slice. No, I Don't want any pizza! Ok, I took a slice and as I was finishing the crust, he looked at me and said, "Get the crap outta here! You never, ever eat the crust! Let me try one but I will just take half of a slice you said it was so good. As he ate his slice he then grabbed the other half with the seasoned crust. Daaaaaang this is Great! I took another slice and ate it without responding. Now when we want pizza he will drive 15 minutes to pick it up. We both love it!!! We had Marcos last week. We don't order pizza, we order Marcos!! Our medical office is right around the corner from this location. We order a monthly birthday lunch and we have used Marco's in the past and everyone was pleased. Today, we tried to use California Pizza Kitchen and were sadly underwhelmed (please see my review on their page) so I ended up ordering from Marco's. When I went to Marcos to pick up my pizza, John came to the front desk and told me there were no orders for me. The first time I ordered everything was excellent. The next time they did not have lettuce to order a salad, the next time I ordered a chicken club sub. Gluten free pizza can be gritty, thin, and/or greasy but not Marco's. It taste like regular pizza. It's a little thin but not paper thin. More importantly it has the same texture as regular pizza. read more

My family and I love this location of Marcos. The food and service are consistently excellent. Tyler and her co-workers have excellent customer service. They always greet customers and open the door for customers to walk out with their food. No other place that we know of does this.
