I ordered delivery for 7pm. I called them at 710 and was told my order was next up for delivery, we did not get it til almost 8pm and the pizza and wings were cold. Also I had ordered a 2lt sunkist and did not get it as well. The delivery person said they would credit me. I finally called and spoke to the Mgr on Monday asking why there was no credit and was also told they dont stock sunkist. Noone told me this until that Monday. It was not noted on my order, I was not called to offer a substitute, and I was not told when I called to find out where our order was. When I spoke to the Mgr on Mon I was told I was given a credit on my account. Since this was the 2nd time it happened, I said I didn't want a credit and wanted a refund. Delivery Roulette! Sometimes Marcos delivers, but sometimes they just pretend to deliver. I went into the store to pick up my delivery order in person 90 min after ordering. Everyone standing around doing nothing, not even answering phones. They told me that my delivery order "was one minute from my house". Skeptical I asked them to remake the food please... and while I waited 10 minutes they told two other people that came in asking the same... that the delivery was also "one min from their house". Kind of hilarious truthfully since I was still standing right there listening. This is my 2nd time going to Marco's Pizza in a week. I ordered cheesy bread both times and the bread was good. But, it was not cut all the way through, so I couldn't easily pull it apart. I also noticed, since we are still dealing with COViD that they did not have on their masks, none of them, and they were talking while preparing the food. They also failed to wear hair nets and 2 of the guys hair was long! Lastly, flour was all on the counter and floor and toppings. The people were really nice and my breadsticks actually looked better this time as opposed to the last time. So my husband and I have recently stumbled up on Marco's as an option for dinner since moving to Mt. Holly. Its close to the house so when we don't feel like cooking and we are in the mood for pizza, we have Marco's. We have only done take out so I have no opinion on delivery. We are typically greeted nicely and asked to take our order. They give us the time of approximately 15 minutes and that's usually accurate. The pizza has been hot and ready for pickup on time. My last experience is the reason for the less than 5 star experience. I walked in, ordered my food, and went to my car to wait. While I waited, it began to pour. It rained so hard that I moved my car and parked it close to the entrance. I could look inside the restaurant and noticed that my items were ready. I braved the rain, ran inside, to collect my food. I had to collect two pizzas, breadsticks, and a 2 liter soda. I asked her for an additional pizza sauce for my breadsticks. She then told me, that it would an additional 0.85 cents. I told her that I did not have any money with me and that I would have to go back out in the rain to get it. No sympathy from her. So I braved the heavy rain once again, got the change and returned to pay. I don't mind paying for anything extra, but come on!!! I just spent over $20, I have four items I have to take to the car alone and now I have to go back out in the rain?? I just thought with the circumstance that customer service and just plain sympathy for this wet customer would have prevailed. Honestly, I went because I was curious as to why the reviews were so bad. After going I believe the reviews were just accidentally made by drunk people. The service was phenomenal even though they were extremely busy. I ordered a small 1-topping, it was ready in 20 minutes. The food is good, standard Marco's pizza. While I was in there waiting for my food the two phones rang nonstop. As soon as one one phone got answered the other started and they immediately rang whenever the conversation was done and they hung up. On top of this they had online orders and customers walking in. The employees remained focused and hard working, they greeted everyone with a smile and "Welcome to Marco's". Some of the best service I have had around Mount Holly. Maybe these spoiled reviewers should head into Charlotte and order from a Domino's. read more

I will start out by saying the store looked clean, the staff was friendly and our order was ready at the designated time for pickup. On the other hand, we spent almost $53, and our order was terribly made. One sub was burned without the usual toppings that were supposed to come on it or the extra toppings we paid for. It wasn't even cut in half. The other sub didn't have any of the extra toppings we paid for, one pizza was incorrect and they didn't bother to cut the cheese bread. It took them 12 minutes to answer the phone and when we got there they were all hanging out chatting about random stuff. I love this pizza!! They left a flyer in our mailbox a few months ago & I have to admit...I was like "who the heck is Marco?!" Well, as luck would have it, The Hubs & I decided to have an impromptu date night and ordered one of the deals. The delivery was prompt and piping hot! Then, we tasted the pizza... OMFG where has Marco's been all our lives?! Why were we not eating this pizza perfection sooner?! The pizza was so good! Plus, I love green olives, so to be able to have it on a pizza already had me at "hello"! I have to say, we have not strayed since. We live less than a mile from the store, typically tip between $4-5 on a $20 order or less and cannot even get all of the items ordered. Last time they forgot our soda and the driver had to go to the gas station to get it. This time yet again they forgot the soda. The delivery driver said she can either go back to the store and re-deliver it or refund us, we opted for a refund. When my girlfriend called the store they said they could only give us a credit, not a refund. That seems ridiculous to me. Marco's in Mt Holly offers great tasting pizza, when it's made correctly. I'm now up to 5 orders from this location that have been inaccurately made by not including ordered toppings on speciality pizzas. One of the most recent orders was brought to the attention of the manager who promptly offered a courtesy order the next time an order was placed. Fast forward several weeks and I was met with opposition and confusion by the employee taking my order, not understanding how the manager provided a complimentary meal and asked for verification over the phone. Well, other than notes I kept of the manager's name, date and time of our call, Marco's didn't provide me with any verification so what was I supposed to do? The employee taking my order eventually hung up on me at the conclusion of my order. Upon arrival at the restaurant, the same employee helped me at the counter, apparently unenthused with his job. I seemed to be a bother to him as he argued that I still owed money for an order that was supposed to be provided as a result of consistently inaccurate orders. The manager on duty eventually assisted (not the same manager that provided the comp meal) and wanted to verify that the pizzas were made correctly. Surprise, surprise... the two comp pizzas were BOTH missing toppings, one of which was listed on the order and the other was not. I'm not surprised that the gentlemen who took the order messed it up resulting in yet another inaccurate order. This all might seem jovial for a couple of pizzas but when you take the number of times this has occurred and the consistent lack of attention by employees, it's time to move on to other establishments. Marco's in Mt Holly, if you can't make a simple pizza the way your customers order them, please take the time to assess your processes and employee training. Marco's Pizza recently opened in the Mount Holly area beside Family Video and I decided to check them out since there aren't many other choices for decent pizza there. The store front is cozy and intimate which basically means it's small but there is seating for a few patrons. The staff is very nice and seemed focused on customer service and product quality; the two topping pizza I ordered was good and exceeded my expectations of a pizza place located next to a video store. Again, I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. This location is definitely worth a try, just be ready to wait for seating. read more

I ordered a pizza on a Friday night. I live 10 minutes away, so that's a 20 minute drive to my house and back. My pizza was promised by an hour from the order time. It arrived 50 minutes later, that's 10 minutes early! The delivery guy read my requests for social distancing and was very cheery and happy. I've never met a friendly pizza delivery guy before, they are always so dull and lacklustre. He used his delivery box to set my pizza on it so it wasn't on the ground and stood back until I got the pizza and went inside. My pizza was hot and tasty. The last time I ordered a pizza was over a year ago from Papa Johns and it never even came (and yes they charged my card and I had to dispute it the next day).
