We assumed they would do their job correctly but they charged us for 6 hours on a job that shouldn't have taken more than 3, killed a replacement blower motor and still didn't know why it happened. Ended up paying over $500 for an oil change, the main issue we brought it in for wasn't solved and they blew up a $150 part. Not only did they over charge us, but were rude in the process. Rodents had chewed through the wiring to my HVAC unit and, in the process, shorted it out…read more Apparently some of the wiring they needed to splice together to repair the rodent damage was in a very hard to reach spot - so far up that they almost had to pull the dash to get it rewired. But their mechanics worked hard to get it done without having to pull the dash, saving me hundreds of dollars. When I turned the new unit on it sounded like a single engine prop plane was under the hood. Mike showed me the problem, which was all the paper the mice had stuffed into the blower unit. In the interim between when the HVAC unit blew and when I took it in to Prairie Road, mice had nested in the blower unit. Mike tried to get out as much as he could and told me to go vacuum as much as possible, but that didn't help. He had his guys pull the blower unit out to inspect it, found a huge paper towel stash, cleaned it out, put it back together and, voila, the noise was gone! And they didn't charge me for that work, even though it was a separate issue from the HVAC unit. They just helped me out. which I really appreciated. Mike and Gina are both very helpful and I feel like they really had my back. I will definitely make them my regular shop.

So decided to try a locally Owned business When I walked in I was greeted by Gina, NO WAITING just a great greeting n knew I found a great place to have the "BEAST" Serviced and takin care of. But this guy Mike and his partner…read more"Nettie" (not sure if that's the correct nam) are unresponsive after weeks of poor communication. my father hired them to a carrier bearing and look at his u joints on his pickup, which is his main means of earning an income, and they took his drive lines and never returned them. He has asked for them back with text and calls MANY times over the course of the last couple weeks, and they do not even answer calls or reply to texts with anything other than false promises that he will return the call later. At this point my father has been forced to spend thousands of dollars on new drive lines, and lost over a month of income from doing business as a contractor. I want to warn anyone considering us this company, please find someone ethical. If Mike calls my father and makes restitution (return the drive lines, and pay for some of his loss of time) I will update this review. This should be criminal, but unfortunately it seems it is a civil matter. We are very reasonable people and my father was personally and financially hurt by this company. The stress from this situation has caused us all to lose sleep at night.

They "do not work on cars older than 2005". This is frankly stupid. It's completely arbitrary as the technology on say, a 2003 cayenne turbo is the same as a 2006 cayenne turbo. This is the case for nearly every generation of German car from that era. Also, many German car enthusiasts have a mix of older and newer cars. Guess you don't need the business! 2. They do "not do modifications". So, a blanket statement indicating no ability to think outside the box or leverage widely known and adopted techniques outside of the service manual. Again, dumb. I realize these are their choices and that's fine, but I also know that a ton of enthusiasts like myself won't want to waste their time on a shop that simply wants to make money on people who really aren't THAT into their cars.
