Tom and his crew are truly amazing -- knowledgeable, professional, respectful, and very clean! We are extremely pleased with their work and very grateful for the quality and care they put into our remodel. We will definitely be contacting them again when we are ready to renovate our second bathroom. Thank you, Bay Home Remodeling!

They get well-deserved rave reviews. Happy to report they were solid from start to finish (and I'm pretty picky about wanting things as near to perfection as life allows). I found Tom responsive, honest, very easy to work with, willing to address issues that arose, and much more pleasant to work with than any contractor we've worked with previously. Jason who on was on site with the project was focused, considerate, detail-oriented, dependable, and trust worthy. I especially appreciated their input and willingness to problem solve a few issues that surfaced (not knowing what was behind walls or under the house before we started). I would 100% work with them again for future projects and grateful for the ways they went the extra mile.

My number one priority when looking for contractors was clear communication in all aspects of the project, and I'm very happy to report that Lion Group Construction did not disappoint. I came in with a vision and budget in mind, and Udi helped me figure out what was actually feasible, what would put me way over budget, and suggestions to work around the limitations of our space. When the team hit roadblocks during construction due to past owners' questionable DIY methods and the age of the home, they were quick to text/call and let me know what was up, how they planned to deal with it, and always waited for confirmation from me before proceeding with anything that would differ from the original plan we'd made. If I had questions or noticed small details that I wanted to change in the midst of the work, they responded quickly and kindly. I was never worried that I would be ghosted or ignored, or that the work would be delayed as the project went on, which I know is something that unfortunately happens to many homeowners!! I'm grateful to Lion Group Construction for alleviating much of the stress of a big reno (the decision fatigue was real) and transforming the bathroom from a dank and dim space into the calming, well-lit one of my dreams. Again, thank you, thank you, thank you!

We had a tight deadline to get our house on the market, Udi came right over and intuited exactly what we needed, walked us through how and when his team would get it done -- and there they were bright and early on the first day of work. There were absolutely no surprises, they were absolutely responsive, and the quality is perfect. So happy we found Udi and Lion, can't recommend them enough.

From start to finish, the team was professional, punctual, and easy to work with. They took the time to explain the process, helped me select the right materials, and kept me informed throughout the project. The crew was respectful of my home, kept the workspace clean, and made sure everything was working perfectly before they left. It's rare to find a company that delivers both great customer service and high-quality craftsmanship, but Pablo's General Remodeling truly exceeded expectations. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for kitchen upgrades or appliance installation.

Shawn took a look around, listened to what I had in mind, and thankfully told me what would or wouldn't work. He picked a beautiful quartz counter top, gave me options to choose from for the paint, faucet and hardware. He has a great team working for him. They were respectful and trustworthy. The refinished cabinets look like new. They do high quality work. He made his best effort to get things done within the time frame discussed but, as with any renovation, there were some unexpected issues that led to minor delays and affected cost. I really appreciated how his main concern was that I was happy with the end result. Before and in process photos attached (forgot to take a picture of the final product and don't want to clean the kitchen right now).

We've now been in our finished kitchen and house for a few months and love it more every day. We still can't believe the transformation and beyond the beautiful upgrade across the board, his design and recommendations made it SO much more functional. From the design process to communication and his project manager/workers, everyone was a true professional. No kitchen horror stories and they finished exactly on time. There of course are small things that came up in communication between what we decided with Shawn (keeping our dishwasher) and what the workers on site knew about (tried to give it away 2x), but that is common in any project, and most important to us is every small thing we noticed/flagged was fixed without question. We've already referred Shawn to anyone who asks. He took our space from a very dated 1960s vibe to modern but with character, and a design that matches our ranch style home. Thank you Shawn for making our house feel like us!

The Great (+2 stars) ==========…read more * The structural work: Our home is on a great, new, solid foundation (with shear walls), so we feel as safe as we can be in our home for an earthquake! * Our basement is also now more usable. * Drainage: There is now drainage around the foundation and under the basement slab, so we are no longer worried about our basement flooding! * The working crew were very friendly and considerate. The Bad (-1 star): ========== * The electrical subcontractor was quite bad. The electricians didn't install the dryer outlet properly (one conductor came loose before I first used it), most outlets they installed are loose (they give when pushing in a plug), and they installed a used, old (not LED compatible) dimmer for the LED lights they installed. Also, the owner yelled at his team a lot. * The plumbing subcontractor was bad, too. They misdrilled several holes, damaging the interior of the home. They didn't seal around exterior penetrations into the house. They didn't put a cover over the branch of a wye that was no longer needed. They wouldn't do anything about the loss of hot water pressure in a bathroom faucet that occurred after they moved some plumbing around (I ended up having to disconnect and disassemble the hot water valve myself and I found a piece of silicone clogged in there). They over-glued the drain of the laundry supply box making it nearly impossible to remove the cap, and they lost the o-rings on my faucet aerator. The Ugly (-2 stars): ========== * They overlooked details in the plans about where walls and doors should go, and denied responsibility since they weren't in the structural engineer's plans, which they opted to not have updated with the revisions I told them about. This lead to a sewer pipe being installed in an inconvenient location (it went through the foundation, so it can't be moved), a structural wall that was almost built in the wrong place (I caught it while they were digging the footing), and a room that was built with no doorway (they had to cut some framing to make the opening). * The pricing/scope was negligent at best, but I'd put it closer to misleading or deceptive. During the initial visits, they talked about all the things they would do (including putting up framing, drywall, and insulation), and then sent over an estimate that I accepted. I didn't realize until halfway through the project that the estimate didn't include many of the things they talked about (including the framing, drywall, and insulation); those apparently would be part of "Phase 2," not included in the price of the first estimate. I had chosen E&F over another estimate that was less expensive even though it did explicitly contain the "additional" scope. I was also surprised that the electrical and plumbing (most of which was necessary to get them out of the way for the structural work) was billed separately; i.e., an unexpected additional expense. * They chose to rebuild a segment of stairs (rather than just adding two steps at the bottom, per the plans), which ended up having insufficient clearance with an overhang halfway down. They tried to convince me there was no new problem because they built them the same as before (but the run of the new stairs was one inch longer, causing the 4th step down to be 4 inches closer to the overhang) and resisted remedying the issue. They just ended up taking a sawzall to trim the overhang -- a joist -- which I just have to hope doesn't compromise any structural integrity! Further, they didn't even finish the stairs (sand and seal); "Test your staining skills," they said. * They ghosted before Phase 2. As the structural work was reaching completion, we were going back and forth on scope for Phase 2. However, when the structural work was actually completed, they just stopped communicating, left dirt and demo debris they left on our driveway for a month, then disappeared. There were lots of things they removed to get out of the way (like several segments of fence) but didn't put back. I could easily add 3x more issues and details, but this review is already too long.

While the final result was decent, getting there involved a series of careless mistakes, lack of attention to detail, and poor communication. The project manager and foreman consistently over-promised and under-delivered, missing promised dates without informing us and often being unresponsive. The foreman was competent when present, but he was frequently pulled away to other jobs, leading to a lack of supervision and quality control. This caused us to spend a lot of time supervising the crew ourselves to ensure they didn't make careless mistakes, which felt like the opposite of the "trust" they claim to build. Some of the mistakes were basic but significant. They hooked up our new toilet to hot water, installed door trim out-of-level so that we are now unable to install doors, and did sloppy tile work that we had to ask them to begrudgingly redo. When issues arose, they often tried to fix things hastily, for example trying to fix the hot-water-toilet screw up by installing a flexible sink hose behind drywall instead of proper piping. Even the installation of a pocket door frame had to be redone from scratch after drywall had gone up, because the crew hadn't followed manufacturer instructions and left half the screws sitting on the floor. Throughout the project, we found ourselves having to step in and correct things or remind them to finish tasks they promised, which was both frustrating and time-consuming. By the end, we did not trust them at all to do things properly. Despite the challenges, there were a few positives. The interior designer they included with the project was fantastic, and they stuck to the original budget without adding surprise costs, except for one reasonable change order. Overall they are genuinely nice people in general and were not trying to rip us off. They did try to fix the problems we identified. However, these few good points didn't make up for the overall lack of quality control and communication, which is why we cannot recommend Rhino Builders.
