After some Yelp research I decided to hire Global Gentle Movers for my move to San Diego for their great rates . Overall, had very positive experience working with them, they made my move feel effortless! Business owner Kiryl personally came on the day of my move to ensure that I am getting all of the packaging supplies needed (I had full pack of my 2 bedroom house). Team Alex ( Denis, Alex, Chris) were super careful. Handled all of the furniture with extra care ( no scratches on the floors/walls). Loaded quickly and on the next day unloaded in only 1,5 hours! They made sure everything is in place and as we wanted, checked 100 times that everything is ok before leaving. Recommend! read more

Had to move last weekend and i was realy stressed out... But Global Gentle Movers made it so much easyer then I thought it'd be. They was on time, very frendly and handle my furniture with alot of care (even the heavy stuff like the couch and my old bookshelf). Only thing is the truck was a bit smaller than I expected but they packed it smart and it all fit good. Took a bit longer than planed but honestly still worth it cause nothing got broken. Kiryl's business sense is horrible, and his movers were clearly untrained. Start to finish, I was worried about my things as I watched the movers bang my furniture against walls, break a lampshade (can't be replaced), show up late, stay late, and the worst was the very end. Because I wasn't able to be there due to an emergency visit to the hospital, they dumped all my furniture in places haphazardly, and in rooms where they didn't belong. Garage items in the house, house items out in the rain, tools literally dumped. I came home from the hospital, and had to move my furniture to the correct locations, and clean up their mess. Kiryl was no better on messaging afterward. He made excuses even after I showed him pictures. He threatened me with small claims court, even after I told him I would pay what I thought was a fair price. He wanted to knock off $300 after all this mess. Completely unprofessional. Pure moving subcontracted my move to Global Gentle Movers. They were very slow (took 5 hours (!) for a 1 BR move when all my prior moves have taken less 3 hours, even with the same amount of stairs / items). They broke one of my appliances. Often, 15 or 30 minutes would go by and I would not see them (or I would just see one of them come up with one small box). At the end of the day, my stuff got moved, but this was far below what I expected with my prior moves with Pure Moving. read more

Terrible. Awful. Totally unprofessional. Pure Moving Company sub-contracted the job to Global Gentle Movers and "Isaac" and "Mike" moved very, very slowwwwly - in order to make the cost of the move 2-1/2 times what I was quoted ($1071 instead of $426). I told them they just needed to put blankets on my furniture, but they kept putting everything in bubblewrap and then wrapping that in way too much tape. They clearly did not like physical labor and did everything they could to avoid it - playing with bubblewrap and tape was something they liked much better than actually doing the job they were hired to do (i.e., move furniture). I had to move more than half of the boxes myself!!! I'm 60 years old with a bad sciatic nerve problem in my left leg and these guys just watched while I moved box after box. Otherwise it would have taken them forever to get it done. I packed everything before they came so if they had moved at a normal pace it could have been done in 4 hours at the most. Because of their laziness it took 8 hours!!! 8 hours is probably their target since it's a full work-day. Travel time was not an issue: I only moved 1/2 a mile. By 1pm it was clear to me that they were going as slowly as they possibly could so I asked them to "pick up the pace." So, one of them started mock jogging every time he came back into my apartment saying "Pick up the pace. Pick up the pace." He was actually making fun of me to my face! They were a problem from the start. They parked their moving truck in front of my next door neighbor's building - blocking their driveway. I asked them to back their truck in my driveway and one of them said "No, this is better." I said "No, it's not better. We can't block my neighbor's driveway." So he reluctantly moved the truck to my driveway - which enabled us to move the stuff through the garage instead of through the front door of the building. What planet is this guy on that he thinks parking in front of someone else's driveway and moving stuff through the front door is better? I let them know that since the biggest stuff was in my bedroom and that since the bedroom in the new apartment is in the back, they would need to move the stuff out of the bedroom first but position it in the truck so they could unload it first (e.g., off to the side inside of the truck). When I saw that they were instead putting all the bedroom furniture in the deepest part of the truck so it could not be unloaded first, I reminded them. But, they argued, saying "We've been doing this for two years. We know what we're doing." They promised that the bedroom stuff would be unloaded first so I asked how that was possible since they loaded stuff behind it. Of course, the bedroom stuff was not unloaded first - which also added to the inefficiency and wasted time that caused my bill to be 2-1/2 times what I was quoted. They couldn't get my futon frame out of the building via either the elevator or either of two stairways (even though it was brought into the building no problem) and they didn't have tools - what mover doesn't bring tools with them?! So, they borrowed an axle wrench from my neighbor and took the frame apart. They left metal pieces all over the floor and just walked away. I picked them up. Later they were having a lot of difficulty figuring how to put the futon back together (another time waster) - they couldn't even tell which part was for sitting and which part was the backrest - I gave them the metal pieces. They just said "Oh", like "where did those come from?" Pure promised that the movers would bring two wardrobe boxes with hangers. They only brought one functional box with one hanger. The other one was a very used, crumpled and unusable box and no hanger. One of them brought the handtruck down the stairs incredibly loudly, letting it bang on each step. I could hear it from outside the building and had to run in and ask him to please not do that (so much for "Gentle"). At one point, they left a box of my stuff in the middle of the street for so long that the wind blew it open and my papers were blowing all over the neighborhood. I had to go around picking it all up by hand. Did they help? No, of course not. Later one of them actually had the nerve to lecture me. He said "Moving is stressful" as if it was more stressful for him to be paid to do a job (or not do a job to be more accurate) as it was for me! Unbelievable. Not only did they way overcharge me but because of their slowness I had to continue moving stuff for days afterward. Again, any professional movers would have done the job in 4 hours tops. My sciatic nerve problem has been inflamed for weeks since. If you like to be ripped off, frustrated, do most of the moving yourself, and even made fun of then Pure Moving Company / Global Gentle Movers are for you. read more

We completed the move last weekend and had a pretty unpleasant experience, unfortunately. Here are some of the highlights: 1) I think my wife was told that since this is a 3 bedroom house, it'd take around 3 hours. Movers came in around 1.10pm and completed around almost 9pm.  2) It seemed that they were taking breaks quite often. For example, we'd see that things are moving and then some time later (maybe 30 mins or so), we'll see no movements. When I go by the truck, I see that they were just chatting etc. 3) Around 8pm, we were exhausted, when I mentioned to one of the workers that "Let's try to wrap it up", he said "This is how it works". 4) Movers asked if they could use our recycle bin. I said you can put some but make sure it doesn't fill up. We noticed today that the recycle bin doesn't even close. 5) We gave them several water bottles. Saw the bottles were left both in the previous house but also in the backyard in the new house. Forget about the customer experience, we were shocked that they'd actually litter the yard. At this point, it isn't even about charging 7 hours for 3-4 hrs of work. We were quite exhausted due to this experience and will not recommend Global Movers. read more

If you want your stuff broken and to pay double what you're quoted, these are the guys to call. If I could put negative stars I would. These men worked slower than snails. They held my stuff hostage for an hour since they get paid by the hour, completely unnecessary since the new place I moved to was 15 mins away! They broke multiple items and when I called to complain I was told "not our fault you have a lot of stuff" I had 25 boxes and 4 pieces of large furniture this move should not have taken 6+ hrs especially since I was quoted that it should take no more then 3 hrs. I hired this company last week on Friday 7/28/2023 to do a move with only furniture (disassemble and reassemble) and very few boxes (was hoping if they finished in a timely manner that I would add additional boxes), which was 6 minutes away. They moved soooo slow (like turtles) and wrapped every item in plastic wrap which was very time consuming. I was busy getting other things ready, so I didn't notice it until the end. After taking ALL of that TIME, at the end they left me with 2 humongous piles of plastic wrap which filled 2 large garbage bags. I asked them to take it, but they refused. They said that they had another job to do. Please think twice about this company. The customer service person was professional, but that's it. I would not recommend them. It cost us nearly $1,000 dollars and we ended up getting a moving truck from u-haul to complete the move. read more

I decided to hire Global Gentle Movers for my 1 bedroom move for their great rates, despite the fact that they are a young company. I can definitely say that I was not disappointed with the job they did. My apartment is small, but I have a lot of stuff to move( clothes were the most important). They packed everything neatly into the wardrobe boxes, and helped me to pack my decor valuables. Also, they wrapped the furniture into the blankets to prevent damage. I used this company last week for a local move. They were very efficient and worked quickly to move my things out of my old place and into my new apartment. As far as I know (not done unpacking yet), nothing was broken in the process. The movers were cooperative and disassembled and packed my furniture the way I had asked them to in order to prevent damage. Once we arrived at the destination, they reassembled my furniture and put it where I wanted it in my new place. It was a smooth process from start to finish. The only reason why it isn't 5 stars is that I was told the clock started from the moment they arrived to move me and ended the moment the truck was emptied and all items were in the new place at the final destination. That led me to believe that they would be coming prepared to load out as soon as the contract was signed by me. However, the two men who came in while the other one was parking the truck arrived empty-handed with just the paperwork and no dollies to start loading out as soon as I signed. Instead, after I signed the contract, I had to wait 15 minutes while they moved their truck to a better spot and got all their equipment. I feel that my time clock should have started once the movers arrived WITH their equipment, prepared to take the first load out right after I signed the contract. I basically paid for 15 minutes of nothing. Other than that, I was satisfied with the move and would recommend this company to others in the area who are planning a move. read more

We asked GGM to move some furniture from Hillsborough to San Carlos, and then move on to take something from San Carlos to Piedmont in the East Bay. They arrived promptly to all locations wearing masks and being very mindful of covid protocol...I really appreciated this. But, aside from that...every piece of furniture was well wrapped and padded. They did not scratch any of our wooden floors or walls, and they placed all of the pieces in the exact spots with very little ado. As if that was not enough, Kiryl even asked me if I need any help with anything before they left. Fantastic service, very professional. Two guys showed up strictly on time. Took only a few minutes to sign the contract and show them what needs to be done and develop and quick game plan of how things should be moved out of the unit. They were super careful with all the furniture and never dragged anything on the floor which was super important to me. They didn't waste any time and quickly loaded everything into the truck and were off to my new location. I also did appreciate the fact that they had moving blankets and other goodies to go a bit extra length in order protect my stuff during the move. If you are on the verge between moving everything yourself or hiring movers, just give this a shot.
