So everytime I order on door dash they get it wrong. My order from the back is never how I order it I never get my extra stuff when I order 3x on the ingredients I never get it. It's like they don't know how to read the tickets or just don't care what people want it has happened plenty of times and not just to me to my friends also. The pizza I order is correct it's just the stuff I order from the back. Not sure what's going on in their kitchen with their cook but they need to get it together I have reported this to door dash every time and I told them I expect my food to be correct next time or I want it free and I won't be ordering from them again if it happens again. Or maybe just won't order anything from the back cause the front end knows how to read tickets and know what they r doing it's just their kitchen help. Also if u r going to have your door dash open to a certain time then u need to keep the grill open until that time also. My husband is a chef and I can tell when my food is cooked in a pan versus on the grill and this was also brought to door dash attention. If this place keeps going like this they will not have door dash for long. There is too many people like me complaining to door dash about this place and how they r doing things read more

Do not let the negative reviews currently on Yelp turn you off of ordering from Marcello's. We almost missed a nice dining option because of them and it would have been a mistake. Marcello's Pizza is your standard downtown Pizzeria. You order at the counter and the menu includes Pizza, Stromboli's, Calzones, Boat's, and many other items. They serve Coke products from the foundation, can, and bottle. Marcello's also has a better than average amount of seating for dining in and it was clean. I ordered two slices of cheese and while my slices looked to be sitting for a while, they came out of the oven hot and fresh tasting. My friend ordered a boat, which is a hot sub finished in the oven, and he enjoyed it. Bathrooms were also nice and clean. Overall, I would without question return here to dine again and try more of the menu items. read more

the puerto rican lady there was flirting with my boyfriend, the food there is great though yall should get some

Always always great slices. Friendly service. But be careful because when you pay cash your getting charged the credit card Upcharges

Me and my co workers and friends used to go to marcellos downtown everyday and since the new pizza maker the little Spanish guy started working there we refuse to go back his is slow and the pizza is nasty the boss needs to go back to making the pizza then we will come back read more

The food was delicious. We had pizza, garlic knots, and various subs, all of which were outstanding. The Shiloh location is new and beautiful too. read more

We got 18 pizzas from Marcello's for a team tailgate tonight. The manager was awesome getting this order together on short notice. The Pizzas were delivered on time, and they taste great. Excellent experience overall. read more

Great pizza, was surprised by the negative reviews, we went in because we walked by and it smelled amazing.

Great service and really liked the thin crust pizza that reminded me of Manhattan pizza shop in terms of ambiance. The mushrooms and pepperoni were great. Marcello's Favorite Steak Sandwich also was great. Would have been better with a bit more cheese. read more

Time to update my review unfortunately. Today I ordered a pizza from Marcellos and it was a mess. The pizza was not fully cooked and it wasn't cut. Huge disappointment!!! We tried throwing pieces in a toaster oven at the office and it helped but then we realized that after paying $16 for a medium pizza, it should be made correctly and be cut. We have called the restaurant to hopefully make this right. We order from this place for the entire staff weekly and the fact that they would send out something like this to a regular customer really sucks. read more

Marcello's Pizza - Cheeseburger Sub - Italian Near Me - York, Pennsylvania

Firstly, the positive: Marcello's has a very nice and helpful staff. The appearance of the restaurant, it's beautiful brickwork around the ovens are so promising, the size of the booths are nice and spacious: unfortunately, the food just doesn't measure up. The quality of lettuce in the salad (Caesar and Garden--I tried both) was poor. Crisp, but very bland. Also, tried the eggplant Parmesan and it was far too greasy to finish. Likewise the marinara for the pasta was bland. I did not finish my meal here simply because it just was not satisfying in my humble opinion. read more

Wow! I was so surprised to see the negative reviews. Everything I've ever ordered from Marcello's has been delicious. I used to work across the street and would get the white pizza at least once a week. I've never found another establishment with white pizza as good as Marcello's. The staff were always friendly and fast with taking my order. I miss Marcello's. read more

I ordered three subs that was supposed to have steak, white American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo and fried onions. The sub only came with meat and cheese because she couldn't comprehend what so ever! The lady seemed special Ed, she took 10-15 mins to take the order, wrote the wrong number down and wrote the whole order wrong! I called to let them know what happened and the owner lied and said he heard the whole order when he wasn't on the phone to hear what I said! The dumb ass chick on the phone didn't even know the menu or if they sold fish sandwiches. The order came to $50+ and it wasn't what we asked for! The food was horrible, the service was horrible and the owner is a liar! Then ten mins later after they messed up our order they called with someone else order because the order taker can't do her job right and write down orders wrong!! This will be the last time I order there! Unprofessional and fucks up on the order, phone number and all. They could have had the nasty food back because it wasn't the right food. But they wasn't even trying to fix it. They was worried about being rude. Not pleasing their customers read more

It's pretty sad when the person behind the counter looks at you three separate times, as you are waiting to be waited upon, but proceeds to wait on four (4) other separate people, WHO CAME IN AFTER ME, first. And it was not busy at all. Plus the other three people behind the counter want to have a private conversation, instead of waiting on people coming in during lunch. Not one person was sitting at the tables. read more

Inconsistent. At times, their pizza is cooked perfectly and this is awesome. My girlfried is from NY and she is a pizza snob and can't stand any pizza in York, probably on principle. At times, the pizza is overcooked by a lot. This has not happened to me once or twice, but perhaps 20% of every delivery I have gotten spanning 17 years. I keep going back because the good pizzas are REALLY good. Their fries are terrible. They need to hijack Genova's fries. I've felt these have been terrible for a decade. I don't know who could think they were good. My girlfriend LOVES cheese fries. Well, these are pretty bad by her standards. Where she's from in NY, you get them with cheddar, cheeze whiz, or mozzarella on them. Here, it appears as if they mail it in with a piece of American cheese. Not a fan of their fall Fry line. That's a joke. Their mozzarella sticks are also pretty bad. They are always cold by the time I get them and I'm a HUGE mozz stick fan, and this is disappointing. One of the favorite things I've ever had in my life is a cheesesteak stomboli from a place called Nuse's in Morgantown, PA, where my high school was. That's about to be my next review. Marcello's makes almost an identical cheese steak stromboli, but they always seem to short me on the sauce. This is a highlight of my life to have...it's THAT good. Lastly, their wings are fantastic. Hot, but not blazing hot. Not a huge fan of their subs. I've had the cheeseburger sub, italian, and meatball sub. The meatball sub was pretty awful. The italians are better than average but not awesome. I would give this 3.5 stars if I could. Too inconsistent to be great, and terrible fries and sub par subs. Pizza is killer on good days and cheesesteak stomboli and wings are a definite plus. For some reasons, the medium pizzas come out better than the large. The large seem to be overcooked a lot more times than the medium. If you like semi-burnt pizza 20% of the time, get the large. If you like high quality pizza 95% of the time, get the medium. read more

I love Marcellos! They have THE most awesome customer service and their pizza is great. The only place I've ever ordered wings from that ACTUALLY read my requests and gave me my wings the way I like them. Keep doing what your doing! read more

Was in York for a conference this week ans stopped in to Marcellos for lunch. I had the Italian Sub lunch special ($7) and it was ehhh. Bread wasn't that fresh and the meats and condiments were mediocre at best. It came with good fries though. The worst part of this place was the total chaos behind the counter. There were 6 people working with no rhyme or reason on how they were serving. I was ready to leave, but my colleagues were already eating. Gotta say I wont go back. read more

Disappointed at the fact it took 2hours for a salad and some slices to get delivered to my house. I only live 10min away from the busses. Seems like every time I call to place a order it's ether get messed up or it's pushing 2 hours for delivery. Customer service is definitely lacking as well over the phone I asked for my food as well as a refund because of the inconvenience and I got jack squat back from the owner. I paid almost 20$ for the food so as there prices get higher your customers get smaller. Time to move on to another pizzeria. read more

The pizza is just not good because the crust is to thick. It's like eating pizza bread. The crust is not fresh and very generic like pre made pre frozen pizza crust. The antipasto was very good and I recommend it. The wings were fair. The mild sauce was sweet and tangy, very different than Normal buffalo wing sauce.if you like your pizza with a thin crust and crisp bite, try someplace else. I felt like the dough was from a frozen pizza. Pass..... read more

Started a new job with the county and the lunch break is very short. Marcello's is right around the corner from my building. Walking up to the door the smell emanating from the establishment was great. Had their 2 slice lunch special with a drink. The price was something like $4.50, and the pizza was great. Good lunch stop downtown if you're in a hurry. read more

This is by far my favorite pizza in York and to me is the closest to New York slices that York has to offer. My sister is a pizza fanatic and every time she visits York, one of our dinners is Marcello's carryout. Only negative is the dine-in atmosphere so I typically stick to takeout. read more

The food is great and the service is good as well. A good place for kids. My daughter has been here twice and loves it!

Marcello's is a long time downtown business that has friendly employees, wonderful fried chicken dinners, pizza to die for, but unfortunately their subs and boats are horrible ! read more

They quoted $16.99 for 2 large cheese but charged $21. The pizza was burnt, dry, and bland. Never again will we order from here.

GRINGO! I realize the term gringo is not always used in a derogatory way. However, in a restaurant setting it should not be used at all, no matter the connotation. Yet, that is the word that was used to identify me as a customer at Marcello's Pizza on S. George Street. My order was mistakenly given to another customer. The one employee corrected the other telling her that the order was for the "gringo." I realize some people will brush off this review and I understand that. If it wasn't for the PC world in which we live I wouldn't even have written this. But, it works both ways. An employee uses a derogatory term to refer to a customer who is over-weight, or ugly, or a minority, or is a certain Faith and it becomes national news. Well, it works both ways. Just be polite to your customers and they will return. Refer to me in a negative way and you lose a customer. read more

better than average pizza imo. quick service and I like that you can buy slices. I've eaten pizza out millions of times around york and nobody has "the greatest pizza ever". I've also had plenty of New York pizza... not that impressed. its plenty good enough for me. read more
