A letter to Doctor Dinowitz.
Dear Dr. Dinowtiz:
Tonight shortly after I got home there was a horrible screeching noise coming from our living room. My wife ran into the room and hugged me and we celebrated. I was playing my violin!
I was not playing as I had been a few years ago before my painful joints had stopped me practicing but I was playing. Before I came to see you I had resigned myself to getting older and losing my guitar and violin to artheritis. You however were not ready to accept that fate just yet and you began asking questions.
Doctor you did not promise me I would be able to play again or that I would not suffer arthritis in the future but you did tell me you were in this fight with me and you did not give up easily. (OK words to that effect.) I felt I had found an ally that understood me and now practice will turn the screeching back into music. I was never a great violinist but I might actually play the Orange Blossom Special before my hands can no longer function like that.
At age 70 I am very gratefull.
Thank you,
