The plastic surgeon coordinator / scheduler is extremely rude and condescending! Today, at 3:30, I called in asking to speak with a certain person (after leaving a voicemail twice in three days). The coordinator proceeded to tell me I was calling the wrong area and that every time I leave a message she has to forward my call (huffing and puffing). I proceeded to TRY and ask her what number I should be dialing on the IVR - before I could, instead, she just ignored me and transferred my call. I was unsuccessful in reaching my person I needed, so I called her back to let her know that if she tells patients they are directing their calls to the wrong, area she should also provide them with a solution ex: tell them where to dial and that she was extremely rude. She then said, "your agent is ready do you want me to transfer you now?" I said "I'd like you to not be rude and then transfer me nicely!" She then said "oh, sweetie, I hope you have an amazing day!" I had an umbilical hernia mesh procedure done here at the recommendation of my primary doctor. At first I was very impressed with their communication prior to the appointment. I filled out the pre surgery paperwork, noting that I was allergic to OxyContin, Percocet and any other opioid. Not because I have an addiction issue, but because I am actually allergic to them. Like deathly allergic. I am also allergic to penicillin. I appreciate that they were also very transparent about the co-pay costs ahead of time. When I got there first thing in the morning the they quickly ran through the paperwork with me and I advised them that they didn't have my allergies listed. They corrected that and gave me a wristband noting them. A very nice girl then whisked me back to pre-op noting my wrist band and asking me to verify what my allergies were. When she put me on a gurney and gave me a warm blanket I noticed it had some gummy residue substance on it which caused me to raise my eyebrows. After that the anesthesiologist came in and gave me a rundown on what he was going to do which was reassuring. Then I met Dr Damore who barely looked at me while he gave me a rundown on what he was going to do during the procedure, and then in front of the nurse told me that he would make sure to prescribe me a minor opioid (I forget the specific brand) afterward to help with the pain. I told him that was a hard negative, holding up my wristband and saying I had already advised them at least twice that I couldn't take them. He finally looked up at me and said "Oh, well then alternate ibuprofen and acetaminophen every few hours for it." At that point I almost walked out but I was there so I said screw it, let's do this. The surgery went well. The day after my surgery I got a call from my pharmacy advising me that my (I'm deathly allergic to it) pain medication was all ready to be picked up. Dr. Testa performed the surgery to remove my breast implants Nov 24, 2025. He and the staff did a great job and my recovery was excellent. Dr. Testa's office requested that I pay for the charges up front which I did and to file with my insurance company later to see if they would reimburse any charges since the surgery was considerered cosmetic. I filed with my insurance company Humana and on January 21, 2026 they paid $ 1,372.12 to the Surgery Center. I followed up with Humana in February to request reimbursement so they contacted the Surgery Center to request the return of the duplicate payment. I followed up with Stacy at the Accounts Payable at the Surgery Center and she advised she would not refund the duplicate paymnet to me but would refund the payment to Humana thru other claims, which would be impossible for Humana to track back to my account. As of today, June 21, 2026, the Surgery Center has continued to hold on to the dupclicate payment and refused to refund it to me or Humana. If you are considering surgery thru this company I suggest you make sure there are no credit payments due you as you will never see the money. read more

Frustrated as hell! Had a procedure and was discharged over 24 hours ago and I STILL HAVE NOTHING FOR THE PAIN. Before being discharged, the Dr. told my family member that she had called in two prescriptions. She also wrote them down on my discharge paperwork. I have called twice and have not gotten it resolved. When the surgery nurse called to check on me, I told her this. She advised me to, "keep calling and bugging them." Really? I can sit here for the rest of my life trying to express how good he is at what he does and I wouldn't even come close to the mark. He really......really... and I mean really knows what he is doing. I grew up meeting allot of doctors in my life; my dad was an awesome surgeon as well (God rest his soul), but Dr Haley stands out above them all right next to my dad in regards to actually caring for their patience. I never told Dr Haley this because I didn't want to scare him away, but I grew up with a phobia of needles. When I was 13yrs old I ended up punching my dentist in the mouth and ran out because he tried to hold me down and give me a shot. MY parents apologized for me and I was in trouble to say the least. Dr Haley on the other hand performed 2 surgeries for me flawlessly, and I never felt a needle from him once. Not even the first initial numbing one. He was there for me from the very beginning till our final visit. He answered any questions I had and explained each step of the process. If I ever need another surgery in the future, I will without a doubt look him up to see if he performs it. read more

Our experience with this practice was less than horrible and if I could base our experience solely on our interaction with the office manager, it would be a -0. My husband saw Dr. Bodily for a consultation and scheduled surgery 3 months ago. Today, my husband was ready for his surgery and an hour before check in, he received a call saying that his surgery has been cancelled due to Dr. Bodily's wife being in labor. We understand that life happens and exact timing for situations like this are unpredictable, however; there are 20 other General Surgeons on staff at Advanced Surgical Associates who could have taken on this surgery. Also, when my husband had his consultation and scheduled his surgery, Dr. Bodily already knew that his wife was pregnant and knew an estimated due date, it would have been nice to have a heads up that there was a chance that surgery could have been cancelled due to this life event. A lot of things in our life were rearranged in order to make this surgery date work, but apparently to this practice, their patients personal lives do not matter as much as their Surgeons personal lives. In my experience of working in the field, if something comes up where a Surgeon is unable to perform his or her scheduled surgeries, the other Surgeons in the practice come together to accommodate the patients. Not in this practice! After speaking with the office manager (whos by the way, professionalism is below sub par) we were told that she did everything that she could do and none of the other surgeons were "willing" to take on my husbands case. So basically in this practice, once you see a surgeon, you are tied to them until they retire or no longer work in the practice. This establishment has a very corporate feel to it. You are a number, not a patient! I highly recommend looking elsewhere for a General Surgeon. There are a lot in the valley and this place is not it!! read more

I could not have been more disappointed with how badly my reduction surgery came out, but worse than that--the way Testa handled it afterwards. I immediately mentioned that there seemed to be too much flesh on the sides and was waved off to tell me that it would round out. During my final appointment when I brought it up again, because my breasts look like airbags are attached to the sides, he decided to tell me it was my fault for being overweight. I have a history of disordered eating and the extra skin on the sides (which they sent me an estimate for fixing which was several inches) has nothing to do with the fact that I'm a little overweight. He did such a poor job I will have to once again go under and pay thousands of dollars to fix it without taking responsibility for his fault. It's been months and my breasts not only look bad, but they hurt! Even with the weight lost from him triggering my eating disorder. He barely sees you during appointments, doesn't discuss possibilities, and didn't offer to show before and afters. Dr. Alvero Testa did my breast reduction in 2020. His follow up care was so poor that it resulted in a horrifically botched surgery. I had necrosis in my right breast and every time that I went to his office due to the excruciating pain I was only seen by his nurses/assistant. They misdiagnosed the necrosis for 3 months as just fluid and told me to ice it. The icing made the necrosis worse as it should have been treated with warm compress instead. I spent those 3 months in pain 24 hours a day and it was not taken seriously. The chronic pain was detrimental to my mental health and even led to suicidal ideation. I was only 19. 1 am now 24 and recently had a baby and every doctor/ultrasound tech that viewed my breast said it was the most severe case of necrosis they'd seen in their career. I even had a biopsy done because they were sure that just necrosis could not be that bad. It is truly that bad. The surgery done by Dr. Testa has impacted my quality of life drasticallv. read more

After my c-section, I developed an internal infection that required surgery to resolve. Dr. Marini was recommended by another surgeon that my step-mom had used previously and trusted, Dr. Haley. He not only took excellent care of me during surgery, removing all the infection and putting in my wound vac but, he kept taking excellent care of me! I had an at-home nurse 3 days a week for 5 weeks. If she ever felt like something was amiss, Dr. Marini was quick to consult with her and see me whenever necessary. He didn't blink an eye when I had to bring my newborn daughter with me to appointments. He was always super friendly and understanding. He was super honest with me and still comforting. I scheduled an appointment in July 12th, 2022 for a November 1st, 3 pm consultation. I had not received a reminder call the day before my appointment so called to verify, just to be told I was never put on the schedule. Michelle the previous scheduler was no longer there and I would have to wait for the next available which was May 16th, 2023. Even though it was thier office that dropped the ball, I was told they had NO WAY to fit me in sooner so I took the rescheduled appt of May 16th. I wait another 5 months to get a call 5 days before my consult (expecting this to be my confirmation call of my upcoming appointment) but instead it was to reschedule me another several months out I have now been waiting almost a year just for a consult for a tummy tuck (I have worked really hard to lose over 100lbs). Dr. Reitz did a Good job as far as I can tell. This is more of a customer service/billing issue. Emergency appendectomy. The company failed to run my insurance even though I provided it in the front end. Sent me an astronomical bill initially so we had to go back through the whole insurance process again which was a pain and time consuming. They sent me a final bill for April 4th. I've called & left voicemails trying to pay the bill since the last week of March until today. Not once did anyone ever think to return my calls to collect payment. I finally got a hold of someone today & she tells me my bill was sent to a collections agency on 4/21. She doesn't know why they didn't call me back. I do... poor customer service & follow up. Now I had to deal w/a collection agency. If this hits my credit, they'll be hearing from me again w/accountability measures. read more

This was the worst possible experience you could have with a surgeon. Dec 22, 2017 I had a simple hernia surgery that should have been without complications. I was suppose to be out the next day. Instead I spent my Christmas in the hospital. During my procedure I was infected with MRSA. Other the next 30 days I was in the ER 5 times with stroke like symptoms. My doctor called me up two weeks later and said casually that my culture came back MRSA positive. Over the next year I have been to this office about 20 times. The hole in my stomach never closed! Each visit they happily slammed my insurance and then shrugged her shoulders and said "I don't know why you haven't heeled yet". No referrals to specialists. No options. No suggestions. Just a dumb look on their face along with a shrug. There is a ton more of details to this story that would shock you. Instead I am going to conclude this review with BEWARE. These people are incompetent in every way! To add insult to injury here we are in Feb 2019, 14 months later and the MRSA is back. I just called to see if they would call in a script for the exact same antibiotics that worked before...they told me that I needed an office visit so they can slam my insurance again. This is a nice place except for the Administrator, Spencer Jones. I was to have some long awaited surgery today. I dared to question their policy of collecting the 20% deductable up front. My insurance company instructed me not to do this as the nuber is usually wrong and I would need to get a refund for over payment to the facility. Their contract specifically says the facility is to bill the insurance company, then bill the patient for the balance after surgery. Jones came out of the back like a screaming lunatic telling me I did not know what I was talking about. He handles contracts and I don't know anything. He then tried to cancel my surgery. I informed him that only the Dr could cancel a surgery so he proceeded to interupt the Dr who was with another patient, telling her that I ws disrupting and wanted to cancel the surgery. The Dr did not want to get involved at that moment, and agreed to cancel. So now Jones comes out practically chest bumping me to get out of the facility. It actually got worse after trying to resolve the issue with him sticking his finger in my chest and face yelling at me out in the lobby. And I'M the disrupter?? This guy should be a bouncer in a bar or work in some low life collection agency. never again. My Dr. decided to use the Hospital instead of having this nut job treat her patients like this. read more

Dr Alvaro Testa Jr RUINED my breasts and a year of my life! I had bilateral breast surgery from Alvaro Testa Jr and he left me with lopsided, asymmetrical, sagging skin! One implant displaced 2 inches lower than the other, areolas different shapes and locations, sagging lax skin on one breast, wrong size implants. I've had 3 plastic surgeons review my case to date all of which confirm that the surgery performed by Alvaro Testa Jr was extremely lacking in ability. I asked the Dr to fix the OBVIOUS mistakes and he was condescending and told me to get my priorities straight. He also told me that he was incapable of doing any better than he did. I reached out to the CEO of Advanced Surgical Associates and requested a refund of the $7,000 that I paid and the CEO refused. I've been ignored by the company and the Dr as they are just trying to brush me under the rug and go away. I refuse to let another woman experience what I am. Now I'm faced with revision surgery upwards of $20,000 to fix Dr. Testas poor work yet he won't take any accountability! The lack of skill set and empathy of Dr. Alvaro Testa Junior and Advanced Surgical Associates is absolutely repulsive and this entire company should be put out of business! I will make it my personal mission to spread the word since neither Dr Testa or the CEO have made any attempt to rectify this horrbile situation! read more

A year ago I suffered from a severe case of complicated diverticulitis, and I was so fortunate that my PCP brought Dr. Theodore Haley to see me as a surgical consult. Dr. Haley is highly skilled, knowledgeable, personable, and one of the kindest people I have ever met. His follow-up is impressive - so impressive, in fact, that my home health nurse is now recommending him to her patients (including family members)! He is truly invested in the health and well-being of his patients. In addition, Dr. Haley's entire staff is as professional and kind as he, from the front desk to the back office. A review of Dr. Haley has to include mention of Laura Fallin, Dr. Haley's Medical Assistant. She is amazing at dealing with insurance and disability paperwork in a timely manner, which relieves a great deal of stress from an ailing patient! Requests for painkiller refills are also very prompt, and she managed to rescue me from a horrible Skilled Nursing Facility! Again, my home health nurse commented repeatedly on how nice Laura and others in the office are, and how quickly they return calls. I had breast reduction surgery with Dr. Testa. I gave two stars because my incisions were clean and did not get infected. He did not get more stars because he messed up the shape of my breast. Three times before surgery I mentioned about my side area and he would nod and said it would be taken care of. He did not! I was having pain in my gallbladder for a month finally had testing done and shown it was my gallbladder going out. I was referred to dr. Reitz by my PCP. Called got an appointment same day dr. Reitz explained everything to me and able to get me scheduled 2 days later. I explained to her I was also nervous about my appendix going next and she was able to remove that as well due to my endo! After surgery I was in a little pain and she had no problem making sure I was comfortable. I will recommend her to everyone who needs a general surgeon. Very nice well educated lady! read more
