Was referred by a friend to this doctor for knee & shoulder issues. I called and made an appointment three weeks in the future. Then, four days before the appointment, I received a call that they no longer accept Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Would only make an appointment for one concern at a time. After 6 months of shoulder pain including weeks of 'taking it easy' didn't help I had an MRI on my R Shoulder. My primary physician told me to see an orthopedist. My husband had great results w Dr Weinstein several years ago when he had shoulder surgery and so recommended him to me. I made an appointment My MRI was sent to his office and they took X-rays. Dr Weinstein explained the level of damage he saw in the shoulder plus arthritis. His opinion was to try shoulder physical therapy and if I wanted a cortisone shot after an ultrasound he would take care of that. I had the ultrasound procedure and cortisone shot after 4 sessions of PT While surgery remains an option I am happy so far w the shot and ongoing phys therapy. DR. Weinstein is amazing! He repaired my meniscus and did an amazing job. They got me in right away for my first appt and had surgery scheduled within a few weeks. His staff are all wonderful and so nice. I researched him before my surgery and he did not disappoint. He is super nice and doesn't beat around the bush. I won't see anyone else. After being told by 2 other doctors that I needed surgery on my ankle, I received Dr. Weinstein's name thru a referral. I made an appointment to get a 3rd opinion. After looking at all of my records he suggested first to try therapy. (The other 2 Dr's never mentioned therapy) I went to therapy for close to 2 months and I am now back to normal with NO SURGERY. Thank God! I found Dr. Weinstein to be very thorough and have a very nice personality. And his office staff was amazing and very friendly. 9/2/19, 39 yo Male, active, 4 weeks after left shoulder surgery. Labrum reattached, bone spurs removed, biceps tendon cut to alleviate tendonitis. I couldn't be HAPPIER with Dr. Weinstein and his staff. From the moment I woke up from the surgery, I have had zero debilitating pain. Soreness and stiffness, yes, but nothing that has made me bedridden or in search of pain meds. In fact, the Physical Therapy that I attend was amazed at my range of motion on Day 1, said I was a month ahead of where I should be. All appointments have been easy and relatively quick. Follow-ups are automatically scheduled for you after surgery. Stitches came out in week 3, sling comes off in week 6. I've read some of these other reviews and it seems that a lot of people want Dr. Weinstein to hold their hand and pat their head. He is direct. He doesn't mince words. He tells you what's wrong and how to fix it. This is a top notch surgeon and I received a top notch repair. I have a rotator cuff tear in my right shoulder and Dr. Weinstein will fix that when the time comes. I have no doubt he will do a stellar job on that one as well. read more

Husband needs total knee replacement. Had an appointment but got a call declining to take him as a patient. Took couple of phone calls back to ask why. Staff says he don't work on knee's that have previously been worked on. So if you have had arthroscopic or any work done before and now your knee is totally gone and need it replaced ... forget it have to go someplace else. This was a horrible experience w shoulder surgery. I continued to have problems many months down the line. After 4 mos I called the doc. It took 7 phone calls over 3 weeks to get a call back. This was a call from a post op patient having a problem and he doesn't have the courtesy of a call back. When he finally did, he copped an attitude worthy of a sullen teenager. I must emphasize that I am a very polite, compliant patient and at no time asked for drugs. To boot-I AM A PHYSICIAN. It's not how I practiced medicine. read more

I had shoulder surgery a while back. My shoulder was very messed up and I had a torn bicep. This place is very good. Great bedside manner. I had a lot of questions and the doctor have a lot of answers. The day after the surgery had to call the office because the pain meds that he had given me were not doing the trick. They called me back immediately and my husband was able to drive straight over there and pick up a new prescription. It was very much appreciated. My son just broke his ankle and had to get surgery. Even though Dr. Weinstein was out of network with my insurance, i made sure that we used him anyway. read more

I recently had surgery in December for rotator cuff. I had a frayed cuff.He cut it and repaired it. I searched long and hard for someone who would be confidant and good. On the recommendation of a friend, I chose Dr. Weinstein. Let me just say this. If you are looking for warm and fuzzy, move on. I was looking for intelligence and skill. I can get warm and fuzzy from my mother. This is my second surgery (different arm). I was amazed. I had very little pain, of course there will be some, but they have good drugs for that. My only complaint was the wait times. He is booked very tight and sometimes I was frustrated. I still give him 5 stars, as he did such a good job. BTW, I had my surgery at San Tan Surgery Center and they were wonderful. I would recommend him to anyone. read more

I had a very serious shoulder injury and had surgical repair done by Dr. Weinstein. This was an extensive repair and it has healed beautifully. I could not be more pleased with the results. Dr. Weinstein is meticulous in his approach and very particular in how routines are followed to insure maximum safety's or the patient. This careful and meticulous approach extends to pre-op and follow-up care, and he is very particular even with regards to who he "allows" to provide physical therapy to his patients. He arranged for physical therapy prior to the surgery, as well as immediately afterwards, insuring that full utilization and movement of my shoulder would be insured. Because of his meticulous approach, he can come off as being abrupt and not very warm or especially personable. I found that what he lacked in bedside manner was more than made up by his exceptional surgical skills. I found the office and surgical staff to be very organized and efficiently run. However, Dr. Weinstein is very popular. Appointments are hard to come by, and sometimes the sheer volume of patients causes office wait times to be extensive. Try for appointments in the early morning or right after lunch to minimize wait times due to back-ups. Another caution one should be careful of is insuring what your insurance company will cover. Dr. Weinstein performs most surgeries in his surgical center, however, not all insurance companies will cover it. While Dr. Weinstein might be "within your network", the surgery center may not. In addition to discussing this with the surgical staff, be sure to call your insurance company as well, before your surgery! In my case, they agreed to accept what my insurance paid as payment in full, even though it was dramatically less than what was billed. read more
