Dr. Hatfield did a full knee replacement on me a few years back and he was fantastic. I loved that he was honest and upfront about what to expect--so many doctors sugar coat things (i.e. severe pain is not the same thing as "discomfort"). I healed up beautifully and went on my merry way. Now that my other knee is acting up, I'm back. I have full faith in Dr Hatfield's advice and care. He is not the doctor who insists you have a consultation first then sends you for X-rays then had you come back again for treatment. He had me get X-rays first then come in one time. He looked at them, diagnosed, and gave me my cortisone shot all in one quick visit. No nonsense! His staff is also very kind, knowledgeable, and caring.

Do yourself a favor and google search for a therapist who works on one patient at a time. And the front office staff is rude and inefficient.

He joked throughout my whole appointment, I certainly wouldn't feel comfortable going under the knife with him. When it came time to check out the front desk, girl was nowhere to be found. I was told she would follow up with a lab order, but she never did. I ended up seeing another doctor who was punctual and professional.

I have a high tolerance for pain, however it became too much and Dr Bates gave me injections that really helped a lot. He was a very kind doctor. The last time Dr Steven Porter went over my injury and explained what was showing on the xray. He then went over the treatment and explained everything and gave me a choice of what I wanted. Quite possibly one of the worst bait-and-switch experiences I've ever been a part of. I confirmed…read morewith the office that my procedure would be "covered," and they even framed a "test" injection as an easy next step--while admitting they weren't sure it would help--because, again, "it's covered." Afterward, my insurance paid $23. Then the clinic billed me $800. When I went back to ask them to honor what I was told--or at least work with me on price given their guidance--they refused. I asked about a self-pay option; they said no because my insurance had already paid $23. No flexibility, no ownership, no accountability. From my perspective, this is the definition of a bait-and-switch: reassure the patient about coverage to green-light the visit, deliver a token insurance payment, then dump the real cost on the patient and refuse to make it right. I left feeling misled and out hundreds of dollars for a "test" they weren't confident would help in the first place. Based on my experience, I can't recommend this practice to anyone. If you do go, get every "coverage" assurance in writing, ask for CPT codes up front, and verify directly with your insurer--because the verbal promises I received were worthless. I won't be back.

Since then, I have been bringing my Mom to him with assorted arthritis, shoulder and knee problems. Her problems are complex, but he has been wonderful at diagnosing and treating her many issues. No extra charge for his great sense of humor and enjoyable banter! Mom and I think the world of Dr. Levine, both as an extremely capable physician/surgeon, and as an exceptionally decent and nice human being. Once there, it takes a while to be seen, but his always full waiting room speaks to the fact that he is indeed worth the wait.
