So much better than going to the ER or urgent care - just to be sent home with a referral to follow up with an orthopedic doc. It's literally one stop shopping! He listened. He cared. And you can tell he genuinely loves what he does -- there's no trace of the burnout you sometimes see in seasoned surgeons. On top of it all, he's a family man with kids of his own, so he gets it. He understands how a bum hip doesn't just affect you, it affects your whole family. That empathy came through in every interaction. I had a left hip replacement and walked out the same day with not just a new joint, but a new outlook on life. He is passionate, honest, and genuinely friendly. You can tell he really cares about what he does, and it shows. He's not on any kind of pedestal--he talks with you, not at you, which makes a big difference. He's also at the top of his field, with patents for orthopedic surgical tools and a technique he developed called the Later Technique. My recovery has gone smoothly, and even my home PT said that Dr. Dungy's patients consistently seem to recover faster than average. That said--no matter how great the surgeon is, you still have to do your part. Knee replacement is a partnership. Put in the work, and you'll be in the best possible hands with Dr. Dungy.

If my left knee needs to be done I would in a heart beat go back to Dr Dungy. My emotions went from frightful fear of having a knee replacement to wow, this wasn't that bad of a process to go through. I was pleasantly surprised for such a good outcome so soon.

I know the office deals with a high patent volume, but that doesn't give them the right to have less patent care. They need to be trained on customer service and patent care. They take things to personal when you correct them on mistakes they have caused. Refusing to return calls and helping you handle any issues that you are experiencing. I hope Dr. Patterson doesn't know how staff treats his patients and if he does he needs to address the problems.

No extra charge for his great sense of humor and enjoyable banter! I said I wouldn't come back if he didn't get the authorization right then, which he did. I asked if he'd seen a copy of the MRI my doctor had sent. He did not. He then went searching for it and found a typed readout, not an MRI. The first thing he always says to me is, "are you ready for that new knee?". I've told him several times previously that I could not afford the down time. All I need are removal of torn meniscus and a cyst that would greatly reduce the pain. He's just not interested. I will go elsewhere from now on.
