I've cheated and gone to The depot to save money or home decor group in Swpt because it's closer, but never again. Recently I've redone three baths. First one I went to home decor group with a picture on my phone. Owner told me he can't match something on my phone and left me to find a similar swatch. Next two projects I went back to waters and brown. Heidi helped me match pictures and made spot on recommendations. I brought in samples and images and she gave great choices to match or coordinate. Then over to the counter for the actual paint. John couldn't be nicer and more helpful (plus he actually remembers me by name and project). Some projects easier than others. More complicated (expensive) projects he gave me questions to ask my contractor and alternatives. I so appreciate the service here. It's second to none and the quality can't be beat. They've earned my loyalty and I'll return the favor by encouraging anyone to go here first and last. This is how a customer centric business is run.

One thing that people may not realize is the difference between a lumber yard and a hardware store…read more Moynihan is very much a lumber yard with an attached hardware store. The vast majority of their business is to contractors. Their wood products are very high quality. They have a wide selection of specialty wood products that just aren't available at Home Depot, and if they are, they're better at Moynihan. I'm impressed with the selection of hardware they cram into their small store as well. Just keep in mind, they're not set up to help someone who doesn't have at least some knowledge of building trades. If you go in knowing what you need, they'll be very helpful. If you go looking for someone to walk you through a project you've got sketched out on the back of an envelope and you don't know what materials you want to use or what tools you'll need, this isn't the place to go. Again, bottom line, high quality product and a helpful staff for people who know what they need.

I have seen this hardware go from one place to another, its current status is the best it's ever been. They offer incredible value and service on small gas engines. I have purchased a chainsaw, a Weedwhacker, and a blower from them, they have all been great. They are STIHL products, compared to other local small gas engine companies, this has been the best value. They recently fixed my pull start for $25. Where else can you have somebody work on your stuff for $25? I'm very grateful to have the store only a few miles from my house. They have a convenient section of common wood and other things that contractors may need locally so they do not have to go to the big box stores. On one occasion, I purchased a vacuum. And they price match the vacuum to Walmart which I thought was pretty good. Keep up the great work, We are very grateful to have you here in our neighborhood.

This is almost like two completely different stores…read more On the left side, for people who want advice and design ideas, are two women who are hit or miss. As others have observed, they sometimes are completely uninterested in you, are very inefficient in starting with a new customer upon finishing with a previous one, but also have a good sense of using color and can provide really good advice if they get engaged in talking to you. On the right side of the store, they're really setup for people who basically know what they want. They provide excellent, well informed advice on technical questions, like "what do you recommend for priming PVC boards before painting?", or "how many gallons should I buy for 700 sq ft of interior wall after windows and doors are subtracted out." But they are not going to help you pick out a colors or take too much time explaining the difference between latex and oil paint. They have high quality products at a fair (not cheap) price.
