Go to Home Depot and show the guy behing the paint counter a swatch of your granite countertop and ask him what color he would recommend considering you have cherry cabinetry. Then, when he's done laughing at you, go to Waters & Brown and show your granite swatch to Sam and Lauren (I think her name is.) That's what I did and they immediately both thought of the same color, Quahog. So much darker than I ever wanted to go but wow, just the right color. Then Sam suggested Oxygen (a pale blue) for the ceiling and a color called America's Cup for the trim. The America's Cup (an off white) threw my husband into fits of worry. Will it be too yellow? Will it look dirty and dingy? Sam, promised it wouldn't and explained why . . . and he was right. So right, that my husband went back and asked him what color we should paint the adjoining hall, Sam made a recommendation and my husband walked out with that color paint. This is the same husband who would gladly spend months deliberating every decision, no matter how minute!!! So it is no exaggeration when I say that Sam may have single-handedly saved my marriage, or perhaps my husband's life because I was ready to either kill or divorce him. So as we decorate our entire home over, all I can say is thank God for Waters and Brown, and thank God for Sam!!!!

While we waited, my son calmly counted the rolls of painter's tape stacked on a shelf, not running around, just counting and stacking. Completely harmless. Out of nowhere, the employee began verbally berating me for letting my toddler make a mess and "be annoying." I was stunned. There was no chaos. There was no disruption. Just a bored little kid counting tape while we waited for service that never came. The tone was hostile, condescending, and completely unprovoked. If this is how they treat parents with well-behaved children, I can't imagine how they treat anyone else. If you want quality paint and a business that treats customers like human beings, go to the Benjamin Moore in Malden or Ace in Stoneham instead. They're friendly, helpful, and professional -- everything this location is not. This store has lost my business permanently. And we've spent thousands as we've renovated our home over the years. But judging by today, they never seemed interested in earning it in the first place.

I wanted some Benjamin Moore paint and I didn't want to go to the local TrueValue because they tend to be overpriced and I like supporting local businesses. I was really impressed with how knowledgeable, honest and attentive the staff was. One of the guys helped me pick out some samples and steered me towards a more affordable sample option since I was getting so many colors! He certainly didn't have to do that, but I was so thrilled that he was so honest about saving a few bucks. I will absolutely be back to Kirshon for more paint and painting advice. If you can get there, I would recommend it over one of the major chains.

Before hiring them I told them several times my floor…read morewasn't level and the only reason I wasn't doing it myself and was hiring them was because the floor needed to be leveled first. The said they could do it, and we agreed on a fee for leveling the floor. Great. But then they didn't level the floor. The installer said it wasn't necessary when I came home and he was 3/4 done with the floor. When I complained about the final result, they didn't offer to take up the flooring and level it to make it right. They did remove the charge for leveling the floor but otherwise charged us full price for the install. 6 years later and our floor has been awful ever since Day 1 and I still hate how bouncy it is in many spots and its now starting to pull apart. I already need to pay for a new floor when should have lasted 15 years or more. I will say everyone we spoke with was kind and never rude, even if they didn't offer to make it right.

That aside we discussed what I was looking for, he walked around with a calculator and gave me an estimate but made no effort to write down what I had wanted. Apparently that's the customers job and then when I called to get a final price I was scolded and told that they wouldn't help me because I questioned the actual quote that was sent to me. Don't call the owner A.J. or the manager they clearly don't care nor do they want to discuss what my questions were. The store didn't have AC. It was hot. The management was lackadaisical and they clearly don't need your business!

Tao stood out for how knowledgeable he was. First, he was clearly knowledgeable. Based on photos alone, he corrected me that the wood was not mahogany (as our home inspector said) but instead Brazilian cherry. I verified that he was correct with the listing agent. No other company did this. Second, he had the lowest quoted price for the job. Third, after I selected him, he was transparent about tradeoffs rather than purely trying to upsell me. For example, he quoted me on installing wood registers everywhere when I asked, but recommended I do so only in the hallways. This advice saved me $1k and delivered a result in very happy with. Finally, Tao was easily the most response person I interacted with. It was a pleasure to work with Tao, and I'm very happy with the outcome.

I've got to say, I had no idea the place could look so nice!! Our home had some sun damage on the floors, but when Thai was done with it, you couldn't tell! Don't waste your time, call Thai! There were a couple of large bags of trash neatly tied up in our garage when they were done; they're heavy - but attests to the amount of work that Thai and his team put in! Disposing of them was easy; just take them out on trash day.

The company telephone VM message says leave a message and then does not accept the message. Please fix your website form. Please fix your VM box.
