This is my second time here in years. I don't get my nails done often lol. I made an appointment for 11 am for Saturday. I was a few minutes late, but no one asked me if I had an appointment. I used to love coming to this salon but the last few times I've been there my nail technician has been watching TikTok videos while doing my nails and I find that very unprofessional. She would stop working in my nails to scroll, repeatedly and alternating her focus from my nails to her videos. She also seemed annoyed that I, a CUSTOMER was coming in to have my nails done. I've never asked for intricate designs or anything - literally just dip powder and I would usually soak off at home to save time!! Not to mention, I already had to wait to be serviced and a 30-45 minute dip powder manicure easily became an hour due to her social media scrolling. I have been in severe need to pamper myself. My usual place is too far due to a recent move so, I turned to Yelp for recommendations. I've been here twice so far, first time was better than the second. LuLu does my nails, she's very kind, and does a good job. The first time I came in, it was just for a pedicure which looked perfect. I decided to come back and get a pedicure and gel manicure. The pedicure looked great but the gel manicure fell apart within a day. After waiting almost 2 hours to get serviced, I was highly disappointed to have my manicure chip within a day. Soon after, it began to peel away easily, every time I washed my hands. LuLu only works 3 days a week, I work 2 jobs. It wasn't in my schedule or worth to go back to fix it. But I'm sure they would've fixed it without hesitation. Overall, Marble Nail Salon gets a solid 3 stars from me (3.5 if I could). I won't count them out on the bad gel mani because I didn't not give them a chance to redeem themselves. Aside from that, here's why: Pros: - Great service, pricing affordable. Staff are kind and pleasant, they also keep it real about the wait time. - Wide selection of services and polishes. Everything from acrylic, gel, SNS gel, mood polish...you name it, they probably do it here. - VAST (and I do mean wide range) selection of gel polishes. Brands include: OPI, Essie, Perfect Matcg, CND. You can't go wrong and they carry both gel and regular polish for most colors. Cons: - the wait times are out of this world. On a Saturday, I waited 2 hours! They might ask you to come back which to me is not worth it. I asked them about appointment options and was told that it would not work in their favor as they may not finish each service on time and then, the waiting customers may get upset. Lord, they need a consultant on that. Appointments would cut down the wait time, promote better quality of service, and allow them time to rest. When I was there, they were working without breaks, eventually turning people away because they were burnt out. - although they carry both gel and regular polish, they have a specific selection of regular polishes for those who are not doing gel. Such a bad idea. During my first visit, I chose an Opi color that had a matching gel. I just wanted the regular version on my toes, I wasn't doing any gel. They were against it, stating that if a customer who was doing gel needed the color and it was unavailable then it wouldn't be fair. Terrible reasoning, in my opinion. Give the customer what they want as long as it's reasonable. If a customer is using a color someone else desires, pull out a spare bottle or kindly ask them to wait. The regular polish selection for those not doing gel is minimal with basic colors. Would I recommend to others? Yes, because of the great service and I love my pedicure. Would I return? Yes as a back up; it will not be my regular spot. read more

UPDATE: I've always struggled with maintaining healthy strong nails and Kim recommended I'd switch from acrylic to dip powder. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! My nails are finally healthy and growing stronger each time. My fear was the powder not lasting as long as the acrylic but I've seen no difference and I'd even go as far to say they last longer with no lifting or chipping. Kim is the absolute best!! She's so accommodating and is honest with the quality of products with me. I love this place! They're amazing, super friendly, funny, and professional. What I love most is that they're very honest with you about their pricing and products. Their prices were fair and Kim took her time to make sure my acrylic tips were exactly how I wanted. I came to Marble Nail Salon because it had the best reviews in the area near me. I don't love in the Bronx but have been visiting my parents more frequently, who live in the Baychester area. Im pregnant and have been looking for a healthier alternative to UV Gel. I arrived around 9:50 am and I walked in and was greeted immediately. The place isn't big at all but they literally have every polish color you can imagine. There was 1 tech was already doing a set of nails and another some cleaning. She asked if I knew what I wanted and I simply said no and she said take your time. Once I decided on SNS Nail dip powder she told me a tech who does that would be coming in soon and she literally arrived 5 minutes later. I was lucky enough to have Kim as my nail tech. I was able to explain to her my woes with UV Gel and Acrylic and she took that into consideration. She was super nice and thorough and gave the most natural looking nails. I LOVE THEM. Exactly what I was looking for. I paid $30 for SNS Dip Powder and regular polish, which is AMAZING. I live in Manhattan and SNS starts at $50. Everyone was friendly and the work is superb. I've been coming to Marble Nail Salon for the last two years. When I moved back to the bronx I had to find someone new and saw the great reviews. In the last year, I've had Kim be my go to nail tech. Only on the dire occasion that she has many people waiting, I'll let someone else take me - but I have to be really desperate. Kim has such amazing attention to detail, she really looks at the nail shape to make sure it's perfect and matches both hands. She makes sure you are happy with your nails. The salon itself has every SNS, dip powder, gel color you can imagine. It is stocked. Daisy, the owner, does a great job making sure all the clientele always have variety to pick from. Everyone there is so nice and personable, you feel right at home. I recommend all my friends here. I now live in the east village and I still come up to the bronx to see Kim. I recently had my nails with SNS for a month because I couldn't make it to the bronx, and had to go to a salon in manhattan, within a week it was cracked and it was uneven. I came in on a weekday when it's less busy, and Kim took care of me. Ask for Kim, wait for her if you need to cause she's amazing. Daisy is also really talented in acrylics. At one point in time I used to love this place. I spent a long time finding a permanent nail spot with a reasonable price. However, most recently I found that every time I came in for a mani and pedi I would get turned away or my nail lady (lulu) what have a noticeable attitude. At first I thought I was miss reading her but the poor treatment continued. on the other days when she wasn't there the owner would blatantly lie and say everyone else was leaving so no one else could do my nails. The last straw was one day she said because it was raining outside everyone was leaving and hung up the phone. Honestly, while they do a good job on your nails, their demand far exceeds their supply. The wait times are two and three hours long. The staff is often rushing and the quality of service has gotten extremely poor. Focus: Customer Service - I decided to leave before getting my nails done. I called ahead and asked about coming in because it was already almost 5:00 pm. I said that I'd like to do a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. I was thankful that they would be able to see me, even as the woman on the phone emphasized that I must arrive "no later than 5:30 pm." I arrived before 5:30 pm. When I arrived, I mentioned that I had called. I was told to have a seat and was pointed to an empty chair. I proceeded to check out the gel manicure nail colors but in that moment remembered that I wanted the powder gel. I asked the woman, who I had spoken to on the phone, if they did powder gel manicures. She looked at me, didn't answer, but a scowl developed on her face, and she began to mumble that I had asked about a gel manicure and now I wanted a powder gel. There and then, I decided that I would not spoil the happiness I had been carrying throughout my day, so I apologized for the confusion and left. Granted, it was my fault for not specifying, beforehand, that I wanted the "powder gel." This is true. However, what is also true is that customer service goes a long way. A simple, "I am sorry, but we don't do powder gels," or, "I am sorry, we can't do a powder gel now. However, we can do the pedicure. Would you want to do that?" I would have felt welcomed and respected. Instead, I couldn't wait to leave an environment that made me feel like I was a bother and an annoyance. Nothing any first-time customer wants to feel. I love this place. Today was my 2nd visit and it was as great as the first. Daisy and her staff are great and they truly treat your nails with care, attentiveness and precision. My nails for my first visit was a beautiful coffin design, black matte, which still looked incredible and intact after a month. Yelp has failed me again. First time at this place and I called at 4:25pm to ask if I can go at 5 and they said I can go immediately but we agreed on 5 as I was busy and got there at 4:55. Place is clean, the woman that attended me was pleasant and did an ok job on my feet. Nail polish is neat, toes still look a bit crusty and I just got home and guess what I paid- $45, and I handed over the debit card and mentioned it was pricey and then the woman says they stayed bcuz of me bcuz business was slow. Funny thing is another customer came in to get service and she was told no bcuz an appointment was coming in, that person never showed up, I'm sure it's because they didn't exist. She doesn't talk too much, and I'm able to make an appointment to see her and she keeps it.
