We arrived a half hour before closing on a Friday evening. In spite of the late arrival, there were two extremely friendly and highly qualified staff available. They were extremely patient and brought out ten pairs of shoes for my wife to try to ensure she found the right ones. A mother and her six year old son with pain in his feet came in while we were there. Although the store doesn't selk youth shoes and knew they would not be able to make a sale, a salesperson took the time to ask a bunch of questions and gave them helpful advice. The atmosphere was great as well. Clean, bright, and well organized. read more

Great selection and awesome service. Was immediately greeted and care consideration offered when trying on shoes.

My husband just purchased a pair of sneakers and he had such a great experience in your store. Luke was so helpful and knowledgeable. He would highly recommend this store. read more

Anna was absolutely superb. She spent 90 minutes with me to help me find the perfect shoe! Highly recommend. Great experience! read more

Thank you to Noah who helped me at the Manchester location! I've always struggled with finding shoes that fit me, especially with having wide feet. I can confidently say with Noah's help I FINALLY found shoes that fit me the RIGHT way. He was very knowledgable, attentive, and professional. He provided me with different options and styles, while educating me on the purpose of the shoe. I highly recommend this location and his help! Thanks again. read more

First time visiting and I totally get the hype. Extremely friendly people that take the time to get the right shoe for you. Patient, professional, and motivating attitude. Highly recommend for the experience of a lifetime! read more

The staff were friendly and helpful. I am not certain who greeted me, but it may have been John. He assisted in finding service. Luke ordered me a pair of shoes that were no longer in store. He put in the extra effort to fulfill my request by calling other locations. They arrived in less than a week. Noah kindly gave me the shoes when I picked them up. I like the quality of the athletic shoes sold at this store in addition to the people. read more

My feet have changed as I've aged (58) and when I went into Runner's Alley the first thing they told me was to take off my shoes and socks and roll my pant legs up past my calves. I then had to walk away from and towards the woman who was fitting me, several times. I then tried on 4 pairs of shoes and repeated the walking (and also running), and tried them side by side in different combinations, all while being scrutinized for my gait, etc. I picked the Mizuno Waveknit R2. When I went home and read the reviews of this shoe I really felt like she picked the perfect shoe for me. It felt great in the store, and the reviews confirmed that it's the right shoe for me. These are good people and they deserve your business. Also, I have no connection to these people at all besides both my wife and I each buying a pair of running shoes from them. Update... These shoes still feel like the best running/training shoes I've ever worn. When I was a more serious runner I always liked the Mizuno Wave Riders. Mizunos have always fit me well, but these are still the best. I'm not a runner anymore, but I'm on the treadmill three times a week. I can't evaluate them from a runner's perspective, but 10 months later, for what I do I feel they've fit me with the perfect shoe. read more

Very charming runners store in Manchester - the staff was so helpful and put me into a shoe right for me. Knowledgable saleswoman took the time to test my walking gait and pressure points of my foot. They carry a nice selection of brands. Recommended! read more

Best running specialty store in New Hampshire. Super friendly and well informed staff. Bought a shirt here twenty-five years ago (Portsmouth store) and wore it out. Called the owner from Florida and they sent me another one for free. Went by this week and bought another shirt. The staff there is primo. read more

Runner's Alley is definitely on the higher priced side for running gear, but they offer up the very best and most genuine products for runners. The staff were super helpful and knowledgeable on all their products. Would highly recommend a runner who is need of new shoes or supplies to stop in and check out their selection. read more

I didn't realize how every shoe had a different feature to make everyone's different foot feel comfortable. After getting my foot measured with cool new technology the sales person showed me 1 option at a time and brought out a different shoe with each piece of feedback I gave. I'm telling everyone in my family to go see Matt! He was great at his job and friendly. I wasn't a jogger before these sneakers but now I feel comfortable enough that I can be!! A massive victory for me! read more

I had a great experience at this location on 11/5/2020. A friendly greeting at the door with offered hand sanitizer, and all employees were wearing masks. I had one on one assistance from Amy (Aimee? Sorry!) who was personable and extremely helpful. She sized up my feet, observed my walk/stride, and soon had me in a pair of shoes that are sure to help this tired nurse's feet out on a 12 hour shift. Thank you so much for your excellent customer service! read more

This is my 10th pair of running shoes, bought over several years. I started in Keene, then moved to Boston. In both areas, I recieved the same general treatment: I was handed a pair or shoes, rung up, and sent on my way. For someone without a lot of experience, this seemed normal. In training for my first 1/2 marathon, and now that the runs are starting to increase, I began to notice far more pain. In talking with a relative, it became clear that there was a great deal of abnormal wear on my shoes, I had developed a clear bunion on one foot, and I decided I needed to go find a better place to get shoes. Yesterday, I walked in. Within the first minute it was clear the staff knew what they were doing, from "if you have wide feet, why are you in Nikes?" to taking the time to watch me run and diagnose a problem with over-pronation. Within 20 minutes I had the most comfortable pair of shoes I've owned. I can't say how impressed I was by both the service and the knowledge. I'm moving to Michigan, but already know I'll happily fly back to Manchester to make sure I continue to purchase from this store, and I'll certainly be telling everyone I know. read more

UPDATE....I'm BACK!!!! Manager called me (they had customer info on file) and apologized...offered to accept return. The manager went the extra mile and i appreciate the customer service. No harm done. NEVER AGAIN. I used to be a regular customer. Shopped there several times a year to purchase running gear for myself and as gifts. I prefer to shop locally and support the little guy. On 5/13, I went to buy an "end of the season" gift for a coach. Before buying the gift, I tried to return an unworn, still in the package, pair of compression stockings (that I bought as a mother's day gift); was advised that the 30 day return window expired on 5/9. No return allowed. A WHOPPING 4 days late!! Save the hassle of parking downtown and don't waste your time and money. read more

Runners alley has some good running gear and the staff was friendly, but I would have given it five stars if they had some simple accessories. I needed to find a stop watch ...(I was a P.A. for Current TV for the NH primaries) and they were two doors down from our set on 52 Hanover. I thought a running store would carry stopwatches....but they didn't carry any so I had to go all the way to target in Bedford, NH. Overall the Runners Alley is good for running supplies but it would be five stars if it could carry more running accessories. Just a little suggestion for the manager. Get some stop watches! read more

I just started running again recently, and knew I needed new shoes. The staff here is amazing and be sure you're ready to run, when you need a new pair of shoes from there. They actually pay attention to how you run, and what they think would be best for you. The woman was helpful, and she found me a great shoe, that fit amazingly, and it wasn't as expensive as I thought. If you're ever in the need for anything regarding running I would suggest here rather than anywhere else. It's worth paying for parking, because you know they're doing the right thing for you. Best customer service experience I've had in a really long time. I would say one of the best ever, because she listened to what I needed, assessed how I ran, and directed me towards a type of product that would work for me. read more

Very knowledgeable staff who are eager to help you find the perfect shoe or gear needed to provide you with the best running/workout experience. They will evaluate your gait and are very attentive at getting you into comfortable shoes. They also host running clubs if you like the accountability of running with others. The only downside is that parking in this area can be tough. read more

I went down to Runner's Alley today to purchase some new shoes and had a great experience with Aria. She had me walk/run barefoot then had me try running with 4-5 pairs of shoes. Ultimately I went with a pair of ASICS and am excited to put some miles on them. Thank you! read more

This store makes you feel like family ensuring you get the correct gear for what you are doing. They work hard to give you the perfect fit and support (physically and mentally). Plus their local! We have been and will continue to get all of our running gear from them. read more

This is the place for people interested in buying running shoes from knowledgeable professionals instead of the pimply faced kid at Foot Locker in the mall. They take the time to fit your properly and will keep pulling out running shoes until you find one that fits your feet properly. Pricing is more than competitive with online shops and the mall. As a repeat customer, I got 10% off my last purchase. Parking is the one drawback as you have the choice of street parking or the local city garage. read more

This place was great. I've never really had someone "fit" me for running shoes before and I have to say the pair I bought are awesome! They were very patient helping me find the right shoe--they make you run around the store in every pair of shoes you try. I've put a ton of miles on the shoes and they are just what I needed plus they were the same price as all the online stores. Psyched I shopped local! read more

Very disappointed -- I always love to find local businesses that allow me to shop with folks in the community but this isn't going to be one of those places. I wanted to stock up on some energy gel for my ~40 miles of weekly runs - and instead of shopping on the net I called this location to confirm that they offered a case (24 unit ) discount which I had heard about while purchasing some items at the Nashua location. The lady on the phone told me they did have a discount and also had the two product flavors that I wanted in stock. Yippee! So I saddled up the motorcycle and rode up there to purchase 2 cases of product - and after being presented with the bill - with no discount, asked about it. Both the cashier and another employee who were standing at the register professed ignorance of any case discount. I told them that I had called earlier and confirmed a 10% discount - and had also been told of the discount at the Nashua location. In spite of this they reiterated there was no discount. I took my (overpriced) purchase and left shaking my head. Of note - I don't blame the sales staff for ignorance of product pricing details since they utilize a computerized point of sale system which SHOULD have automatically priced the product correctly based on quantity of a particular SKU. What I blame them for is poor customer service - they should have said "oh, let me check with the manager", or "do you know who you talked with, perhaps I can check with her". Nothing but blank stares like I had three heads. This is surprising since this is a niche market where I would have expected stellar service since there are only so many runners that want to take the time to visit a store in the central business district where parking can be problematic. Anyone coming in to buy a couple of cases of a recurring need item (like energy gel) would have stars above their head if it was my sales staff. Great opportunity to engender loyalty to the service and product selection. Missed on both counts. I won't be back. Next time I will order on-line from Eastern Mountain Sports and pay 30% less for a 2-case order. Shipping will be free and I'll save a few dollars on gas and aggravation expense. read more

Great local business that I have shopped at for decades. knowledgable staff. You might pay a couple of bucks more but you will leave with exactly what you need. They can order most anything which isn't in stock. read more

This place is absolutely amazing! I've been to a lot of running stores around the country, and I could tell the level of knowledge and professionalism as soon as I walked into the store. These people know runners! I had gone in for a pair of my favorite brand of shoes (On Cloud), which are only sold in a couple of top notch running stores. I had recently lost my shoes (and other belongings) as a medical student who was in the path of Hurricane Maria in the Caribbean. Upon hearing this, Runner's Alley employees supplied me with a bunch of running and fitness gear as well as helping me find the perfect size & style shoes and other gear. If you're looking for you're go-to running store in NH, this one is it! read more

I'm running the Boston Marathon for the first time in April and earlier this year came in to buy some good running shoes. The people there knew what they were talking about, let me freely try on and test shoes and more importantly were PATIENT with me. I love my shoes and like the fact that I am doing business locally. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was because there were boxes of discounted shoes that weren't presented as an option and I love a bahh-gain (but they did discount because I am running the marathon). Great place to go for running shoes and support local business! read more

They have everything a hard core runner could need and if you are looking for someone to help you with your shoe sizing and fit for your body type there is no better place. The one thing (and really the only thing) I could gripe about is that their shoe prices are pretty high. Probably the down side of being a smaller shop. read more

The best place around for all running gear. The sales help are all knowledgeable runners and can offer advice and recommendations. Got fitted for my running shoes. Staff watched me run in store, asked questions, and got me into the right shoes. Only suggestion is I wish they had a bigger selection of running clothes. Maybe store space is an issue. Otherwise my go to place for gear. read more

These guys are awesome! When I first went in, I had just started running and they were very patient and helped me get into the right pair of shoes. 5 months later I went back after my running style evolved and they helped me get into a shoe with a little bit more support. They watch you run and make suggestions as to what shoes they think would work best for you. Their prices are competitive and depending on what health insurance you have, they can offer you a slight discount as well. They know customer service and they do it well. If you need anything in the realm of running, stop in and check them out. They're friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They've got another lifetime customer. read more

The staff is very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. I was fitted in a pair of shoes that didn't work for me and they willing took them back to fit me with a new shoe. Can't praise them enough for all they do. Kudos to the entire Runner's Alley Team! Brigitte is GREAT! read more

When I first walked in, there was someone right by the door to greet me. He was very friendly and super helpful while picking my first pair of running shoes. I love this place and buy all my running shoes there. Would highly recommend.

Good store. Knowledgeable staff and very helpful when selecting the optimal running shoe for a given runner. Their prices are just slightly higher than what what I would pay if I bought online, but it's worth paying a little more to support local business and have access to staff's knowledge. read more

I am from Florida, I emailed the manager explaining I was flying in from Florida and wanting to get new running sneakers, she stated thats what they do and come on in while in NH. As I am new to running I wanted the right fit, right size and right running shoe for my feet since I run on the balls of my feet and always get blisters. I went in this past Saturday and was greeted by Zach he was AMAZING. He watched me run and asked my size, came out with a few different pairs of sneakers. I really liked one pair over the rest and purchased them along with running socks, I would definately go back for more sneakers. read more
