I was looking for a breakfast place near to Islamorada since that is where we were staying, and I saw this place come up on yelp. It was 25 minutes away but Bagels are the one food I cannot resist. I'm so glad we came here. I've never been able to find a Bagel place that rivals New York City's bagels, until now. They can definitely hold their own! It is obvious everything is fresh and homemade and so many offerings that we could come everyday on vacation and each have different meals which is great since I'm very much into having a bite of everyone's food. The fillings good portions, I actually took off some of the bacon on my BLT to snack on later on the boat. The cranberry orange muffin is the best I have ever had - I am picky about baked goods since my husband bakes. I only tried one because they just came out of the oven - long story, short we ended up with three and one of the pistachio cupcake, which was a bit sweet for me so I ate it with cream cheese from my husbands bagel. We were in Marathon on vacation and decided to grab these for breakfast before going snorkelling, what a great idea! The following day we went back for lunch! Okay, so their food. Good. Can't deny that. But the attitude of one particular employee ruined our first experience there and because of this it will be our last. Not only was she rude when I went to order and she yelled at me "What you see is what you get, we have no bagels". Now, bare in mind that I asked what other options there were and didn't care if there were bagels or not. Then, when I ordered, she made me feel like an idiot for simply ordering egg, sausage and cheese. The exact words muttered at me were "Wow, how unoriginal of you." So frickin what, that's what I wanted. Big deal Then while waiting, she was doing a phone order and after hanging up, yelled the entire conversation that she had with the customer and was bad mouthing him and being blatantly horrible about their order because they're vegetarian. That's just bad business and just completely not okay to do in front of other customers. Then, when a review is left on their yelp page, they're incredibly rude and beyond unprofessional. SO!! In a nutshell, never will I suggest a place that cannot take suggestions nor criticism or at least be professional about it. Your place is to serve patrons food and along with that is going to be ratings, reviews etc. Learn how to take that and learn from it to make your business and yourself better. We discovered this place on the last day of our vacation and was sad we didn't discover it sooner! The bagels where incredible! Ordered the Lox with cream cheese, which was incredibly fresh and delicious! The cream cheese was the best I've ever tasted. Also ordered a BLT on a bagel which was also delicious and full of flavor! Came here twice during my time in marathon. Plenty of option for how you want your bagels, plus they do delicious breakfast bowls with plenty of options. They do daily specials as well as serve lunch. Employees are very out going, funny, and have a little "spunk", so they are a definite good start to ur day. Discovered this place on our way home after staying in Marathon for a week. Bummed I didn't find it sooner, but know for the next time. Great bagels (coming from a NY-born bagel lover). Almost docked them a star for two things. One, not their fault, but the patrons were prob the rudest people I've yet to cross in the Keys. Maybe the bagels are so good they don't have patience for tourists? Second, apparently there's two separate lines (one to order, one for picking up a call-ahead). There's no signs to indicate this so after standing in the wrong line until I made it to the counter I was informed I had to get in the other line. Had a plain bagel with egg and cheese and another in my party had the sesame bagel and plain cream cheese. I did try the cream cheese and it was very good. The pork was glazed, so I figured that why it tasted so sweet(the pork was good) , but then my wife mentioned the bagel tasted "different". The bagels have a bland almost sweet taste and the color was little off. They looked beige or brown inside. (Plain bagel not whole wheatl). All of the bagels we ordered were savory, but they all lacked salt . The reviews were great & the menu was impressive. I'm just hoping it was a bad batch or a mistake. Don't bother if you have someplace you need to be. We were in a rush to make a reservation, but the line moved quickly and we were told it would only take 5 mins, so we placed an order. Didn't realize they had to wait for a chicken to lay an egg -- it took 25 MINUTES for a simple sausage, egg, and cheese. Ridiculous by ANY standards. Maybe a bad day but with a long line and both bagels made with skimpy toppings, I don't think it was an oversight. Our family didn't want a traditional sit down, order and wait type of place this morning. So when typing in breakfast on maps this cute little place popped up. They were very friendly, had tables outside, and had a pretty good little number system for delivering your food. The best part the food!! The food was uh-mazing! My hubby and daughter went very traditional with a salted bagels no cream cheese. Me I went for the egg and brisket on a salted bagel.
