Love love this spot! We always sit at the bar and order their ahi tuna. It's so fresh and portions are great. We got very lucky and went in the last day before they closed for the season. They normally close 2 weeks in September just FYI. The view from the upstairs bar is perfect and you can dock your boat. Service is always excellent
Casual walk up service and a bar in the tiki hut. Loved the fresh fish and atmosphere here. Watch out for any kids as there is an abundant amount of wildlife and sharks around the resturant.
Was expecting more but maybe we just ordered the wrong dishes? Conch fritters was probably not prepared correctly (they didn't pound it to tenderize)? It was very chewy and not what we were expecting. Fries were good though. The ceviche was loaded with peppers. Key lime was not bad though.
Apple Maps says they open at 9 but it's actually 11 so had to wait a bit, got there at 10:30. Went for the lobster Reuben I saw all over tiktok. Really disappointing. There was a ton of lobster but it had no flavor at all. The sauce was good but there was very little of it. Fries had a weird aftertaste. At least the key lime pie was very good. Cute area to walk around.
Checked out Keys Fisheries -- definitely a solid laid-back spot to kick back by the water and grab a bite. Order at the window, find yourself a seat, and just enjoy the view. Hard to beat that kind of vibe. Food-wise: Conch fritters -- 7/10. Good flavor, nice bite, definitely enjoyable. Coconut shrimp -- 6/10. Flavor was there, but they were a little overcooked and leaned on the rubbery side. Nothing blew me away, but it's still a cool place to hang out, have a drink, and soak in the Keys atmosphere. Sometimes the setting carries just as much weight as the food -- and this place delivers on that.
My wife and I visited my brother in Highland Beach FL, then drove to Key West. On the way we stopped for lunch at Keys Fisheries. I was dying for grouper so I ordered the Reuben Grouper sandwich. My wife ordered a shrimp with rice bowl. I turned out that they gave me a lobster reuben at the grouper price. It was delicious. Fries were golden brown and tasty. My wife enjoyed the shrimp bowl.
Excellent food and eating spots on the wharf. Favorite lunch spot on the drive down to KeyWest. Loved the stone crab. They serve it cold which I wasn't expecting but it was so flavorful by itself and with the provided sauces. Excellent sweet potato fries and perfect coleslaw that isn't dripping in sauce. Loved the Crab chowder even though it doesn't have as strong of a crab flavor to it Key Lime Pie here might be my favorite of all 9 that we tried on our stay in the Keys. Tart, smooth filling with a sweet crust. Perfection.
This place is known for their lobster Reuben and I can understand why it's a nice taste treat hidden off of overseas highway We also got the fish fingers which were one of the top five I've had for a fried fish finger, the batter they use is one of a kind. It's a cute spot on the water with all outdoor seating. You order at a counter and seat yourself.
A staff member of the Keys Fisheries could punch me right in the face and I would continue to patronize this establishment because the food here is that freaking good. We are not locals but stay in Marathon once a year and we make darn sure to visit the Keys Fisheries at least once. Our last visit was on 12/27/2025. There were six of us which meant there were six very happy and satisfied people at the end of our experience. Yes, it's true, this is a no-frills restaurant. You walk up to a window and order your food. The menu is on the wall and you can look at it while you wait in line. There will be a line - so what - it moves fast. You give the girl a fake name and then wait for it to be called so you can go back to the window and get your tray of food. Then you find a seat somewhere nearby at a picnic table. Who cares? None of this will matter once you start eating the food. Oh yeah, you can get alcohol here too. Sign me up! I don't remember what I have year after year BUT I will never forget what I had this year - and neither will anyone else! There's a special on the board this time: hogfish francaise or francese however you'd like to spell it. I notice the catch of the day is hogfish. This sounds like a winner. I order it. I get it. I eat it. I am forever changed. I would sell my soul to have this again. Yes - it was that good. I feel bad for my friends and family at this point. I'm not even done half my meal and they already know about this damn hogfish. I've told everyone. I simply can't shut up about how divine this meal was. Could you please stop talking about it? No, I cannot. Hey - I'm coming back in December. Hope you're ready!
The food is perfection... the fish really taste fresh and are cooked to perfection. Margarita was strong but tasty. Key lime pie also 10/10. And the weather was perfect with the ocean breeze. There is a bit of a wait but so worth it.
We came here for lunch because this place always has good food and great deals. We ordered the lobster roll, conch chowder, oysters, ceviche, and it was all fresh and delicious. We'll be back.
This place was extremely jolly, got several plates of oysters and had a grouper sandwich as well, great place to hangout and watch the sunset over a beer, the bartender had fantastic service and was extremely nice!
It's a bit touristy, but I'm a perpetual tourist. I take every friend there when I sail down and back through the keys. It's always a favorite. Bartenders are cool. They are used to dealing with people from everywhere. The food is a bit pricy but solid for Keys Seafood Bar Food! We usually sit up on the deck (adults only) and order a few apps from their menu and then a few dishes from the actual restaurant. Kids are welcome. You can buy fish food to feed tarpon. Just have to eat downstairs. Weekends are busy. Plenty of parking. Sometimes they have live music. Sometimes they don't. On the weekends it can get busy. But plenty of seating and moves fast!

We stopped here after snorkeling the sombrero reef for lunch. You order at a counter and find a seat and they call your name when it's ready. You go around the corner to the bar area to order any drinks. We found a spot outside at a picnic table by the marina to eat. The food is fresh but overpriced. The lobster roll was good but had more roll than lobster. The lobster chowder was better than the lobster bisque I had at a different restaurant but still not as good as what I make at home. I tried the famous lobster Rueben. It was toasted perfectly on rye. It was fine but I think the sauerkraut over powers the lobster when the lobster needs to be the star of the sandwich. The beating I had here was probably the coconut shrimp with mango sauce. It was perfection. Deliciously crispy and the mango chutney was perfect with it. After we finished eating we went into the seafood market to check out their fresh seafood selection and grabbed a pie of key lime pie to go which comes in a little tart tin. It was really good flavored and the crust was obviously homemade. Not your typical graham cracker crust which was a nice change. read more
Looking at the food it truly looked like hospital food quality, and for the prices I was expecting something a little jazzier on the presentation- but truly seeing around this area everything is $$$$. Which is fine. But still... Service is an order behind the counter, find a seat & listen for your name called over the intercom (you can't hear anything- so just go ahead & stand over by the counter). Food itself is okay- maybe we should have tried their famous lobster Reuben .. the seating area is surrounding the pier which is nice and there was a constant breeze coming through making it enjoyable to eat at. Have crew members standing by for boats pulling in to eat their catch & ensure no one is feeding the bird/fish. Would stop again and try something different but I'm sure there's other places to go for fish. read more

They are used to dealing with people from everywhere. The food is a bit pricy but solid for Keys Seafood Bar Food! We usually sit up on the deck (adults only) and order a few apps from their menu and then a few dishes from the actual restaurant. Kids are welcome. You can buy fish food to feed tarpon. Just have to eat downstairs. Weekends are busy. Plenty of parking. Sometimes they have live music. Sometimes they don't. On the weekends it can get busy. But plenty of seating and moves fast! read more
Sometimes basic is better. You order at a window after perusing a huge menu on the wall. Sit at a picnic table overlooking the water. In a few minutes your name is called and go get some of the freshest seafood on the planet. Big portions. Cooked perfectly. You can get pretty much anything here. There's also a full bar with some nice local draft beer choices. The Grouper Ruben was delicious- the normal Ruben ingredients worked great with the grouper. The fish on a bun was fresh and plentiful. If you're looking for a break from the typical (but also good) coastal seafood bar/restaurants this is a place for you. read more

Went here based on Marathon happenings members recommendations. The line was long and not worth the wait. Was hoping we could have dinner and enjoy the view from the upstairs bar but we had our 2 teenage boys. Only 21 and up can go upstairs. We ordered The conch salad had the smallest bits of conch and all greens. Bland The fried seafood platter was disappointing too. skinny fried calamari, fish sticks and shrimp. The conch fritter was over cooked., almost burnt. It might have been a bad day in the kitchen as I was expecting better based on rave reviews. The only positive was the view. read more
A great view of a sunset, we came here on a Friday night. We ordered food downstairs at the window and brought it to the upper deck. We ordered 1 Broiled Lobsters with vegetables and rice. At the bar, they had half bottles and we got a half bottle for $14 of the Kendall Jackson Chardonnay. It was neat because at sunset, they hand out "Sunset Shots". Sweet and delicious, it was a cool experience. The Lobster was a tad overcooked but the broccoli was good. Paired with some rice and a little butter, it was decent. Wouldn't say that the service was super friendly but it's a cool experience and a great sunset view. read more
Nice casual eatery here in Marathon. Right on the water in a marina. You order at the window and in literally no time your order is up. My lovely wife had their Lobster Mac&Cheese and I had the Lobster Bisque with a Lobster Roll. Everything was delicious and large portions. We will be back. Boy was this place fun. We enjoyed the sunset toast a lot. The posts covered with stickers give a festive ambiance. The drinks and food at happy hour were so cheap compared to heat we've been paying. The sashimi was a bit questionable (it had a bit of a fishy quality nobody else cared for but I ate it and was fine), but the crab claws were delicious. Bartender gave me a free soda water for being the DD, thanks, ma'am!! Really enjoyed the festive atmosphere. read more

After visiting the sea turtle hospital nearby, my husband and I looked for a place to eat. We found this place and it was such a lovely surprise! We ordered lobster tails and they are simply delicious! We sat by the water and enjoyed the view while we dined. It was a lovely experience. read more
Initially, I ordered Keys Fisheries food via DoorDash. The fried scallops basket and lobster bisque were meh at best. The hogfish platter was somewhat better, offering a generous portion along with some tasty smashed potatoes. 2 days later, a server at another restaurant highly recommended Keys Fisheries' 2nd floor tiki lounge as the best place in Marathon to partake of a sunset. He was abso-freaking-lutely right! At sunset, the bartender serves up complimentary rum punch shots. There is nothing like a Keys sunset when the last of the sun drops below the horizon like God turning the lights out... The restaurant itself is pretty barebones basic, but I would imagine being next to a marina and commercial fishery, the seafood would be very fresh and perhaps better than a DoorDashed order. I also enjoyed watching a huge swarm of ginormous tarpon and nurse sharks opportunistically awaiting the commercial fish scraps at day's end read more

Came back to visit a year after my initial visit and my review remains the same. Way more about atmosphere and less about the food. You stand in line to order then wait about 30-45 minutes for your food to arrive (on a slow night-- we actually went on a Monday evening). We fed the tarpon and had some drinks while we waited but the kids started to get hungry and upset. Food was nothing to write home about. The chicken on the sandwich was so thin- the onion pieces are actually bigger than the chicken (see pic). Do not order the chicken sandwich if you are hungry. Key lime pie was as expected. The crab Mac and cheese was the best part. Lots of crab and cheesy Mac. The restroom is located in the parking lot and bit sketchy with only one stall. Parking can get full on a busy night. Parking lot is gravel. The bar is at the back of the restaurant with lots of drink options and quick service. They have seating for 21+ at an upstairs area that generally has live music. read more

Came because of sign saying they had best lobster Reuben but it's not lobster season.. lol oh well they had pretty big menu so hubby tried few things.. grouper Reuben was very good as was the plantains! We had few meals here as the food was good and price was reasonable. The staff was very nice and helpful. The place itself is not fancy it's very laid back.. tables are picnic tables all around the dock on the waterfront.. you can see and feed tarpon but not people food they have feeders you can get food from for 25 cent. There's other fish too that eat the feed so cool experience.. they do sell out of stuff at times so best to get there early.. read more

This place was at the top of my list while visiting Marathon, but it missed the mark. I had one more food stop planned, but after this experience, I'm done until next time. The conch po' boy was extremely overcooked, hard, dry, and unpleasant to eat. The bread was just as tough. The remoulade looked great but did not help. The smashed potatoes tasted like a mix of instant and real, and the texture was off. Two stars only because the seating and view was nice and the staff were very pleasant. The food was a major letdown. read more

Go early to get a lobster roll lol. I got grilled Mahi tacos and lobster chowder. My Wife got shrimp ceviche, it was a small serving but she brought it home for a snack later. She also got the mago shrimp bowl. It was like a sweet and spicy mix but delicious. It was a good saving that she was only able to eat half or it. We got there about 730pm and ther was plenty of seating. Dog friendly as well. A must stop in Marathon. read more
Keys Fisheries checked all the boxes for us! Casual, relaxed atmosphere with delicious fresh food, and a price point that's easy to digest! We would return to this establishment again and again. Tip: the lobster is fresh, so when it's out, the famous lobsters dishes are unavailable for order. Suggest going when they open for lunch if having fresh FL lobster will make or break your experience. read more

We wanted some good seafood and wanted to be out by the water. Saw this place and it fit the bill. Lots of choices - including the "world famous lobster Reuben" ... which looked interesting but we didn't order it. Instead we all got the fish tacos. They were really good. We had some grilled and some blackened. The ambiance is what you'd expect in marathon. Laid back and relaxing. You order at the counter and they call you when it's ready. Very easy. read more

We stumbled upon Keys Fisheries based on a simple Yelp search while on Marathon. We were surprised by the counter service style and picnic tables because food doesn't match. The foot is incredible fresh and elevated. We ordered several things but the stand out to me what the spicy tuna bowl and the ahi tuna nachos. The portion of tuna is unreal. We actually had left over. The flavors were amazing. We watched fish boats come in and got to watch the sunset. It was a great experience. The only bummer was they only use fresh catch and they were out of Lobster. I wanted to try their famous Lobster Rueben. Maybe next time!! read more

I can't imagine why not -- it's right there on the dock. Whether the marina is public or private I don't know.
