The food was good, but the service was crappy. I had three waitresses/waiter who had asked me if I wanted coffee at three different point in time. I never got my coffee. Waited 30 minutes for me to get my tortillas. To make things worse the manager was one of the waiters. If you get your food take it to go. I gave them 3 starts because the food was good. We've eaten here several times now, so I thought it was time to write a review. It's a small, locally-owned place. The wait staff is always very friendly and attentive. Their salsa is a little different, but terrific. It's tomatillo- based, not tomato-based. Really fresh; not too hot. One of my standard dishes in judging any Mexican eatery is their cheese enchiladas. Last evening I had the cheese enchiladas with 2 fried eggs. The red sauce is fresh and spicy. The rice and beans are simple, but good. My wife loves their guacamole, which is a little too creamy for me. It's also got bits of onion and tomato. (I like mine a bit more coarse with ONLY lime juice, garlic salt and puréed cilantro. I never find it that way in a restaurant...only at home.) We've also had beef "street tacos", as well as fish tacos. All were spot-on. FYI, it's also BYOB. This place has become our nice little go-to neighborhood Mexican food choice. I went to the on 19th and ordered through the drive thru. The wait was maybe 5 minutes or less and I ordered two different meals plus drinks. Online it says there is an aqua Fresca of the day, but they about 5 different types when I asked. The piña aqua fresca was AMAZING, and I'm now excited to go back to try more flavors. The rice was great and the beans were good, but the chips, salsa, and queso covered enchiladas were not my personal favorite. Regardless, I will be back for the aqua Fresca and rice! read more

Went for lunch today and the service was good. The food was tasteful and served in a large portion for its price. Our waiter was helpful when it came to our questions. The environment wasn't dirty & they were constantly cleaning tables off and not leaving them. They were super quick. Our meal came out within 5-7 minutes of ordering. Hands down the blandest Mexican food I have had yet! The menudo was tasteless, had no spice to it at all. The enchiladas had almost no sauce making them "dry" and basically a wet quesadilla. Came in for a weekday lunch around 11:30 and we were seated right away. (When we left, the line to check in was out the door). Restaurant is comfortable with high-backed booths and extra napkins at the tables. (YESS!!) I ordered the lunch #8 (enchilada, relleno and taco) and my husband ordered two cheese enchiladas. The salsa is excellent and hot! I really liked the homemade crispy taco shell too. I did not care for the beans as they are very runny and the relleno was not crunchy and quite "eggy." Rice was good. My enchilada was good but needed a little longer in the oven as the cheese wasn't entirely melted. Service was mediocre, but i think it might just have been our waitress. Ended up here on a whim and glad we came. The food is simple but really good, and I love that they have breakfast all day! The barbacoa was prepared really straightforwardly, not over-sauced, which I liked - it was relying on the flavor of the meat itself, which was incredibly tender. The migas were perfect comfort food. Service is so poor. We have tried to give this place a chance on 3 separate occasions and cannot give them the benefit of the doubt anymore. My husband and I have had to wait over 35 minutes to be served our meals separately and then have one be cold. Told the server and was told " sorry". Wrong meal one one occasion.
