Me and my friend went in to get our thirds done and while the piercer did a great job piercing and was super nice, within two days I developed a seriously itchy and painful rash, not just at the piercing site but all the way down my earlobes (that's still here even after taking the jewelry out). Like SO ITCHY. I got such a bad allergic reaction to whatever jewelry she used that my lymph nodes swelled up on my neck as well and still haven't gone down. I have 8 piercings from multiple other places and have NEVER had a problem like this before. I honestly considered going to urgent care. While my friend is totally fine and her piercings look great, I honestly would not recommend if you have sensitive skin even though they were very nice. Just sad I spent the $$ and had to take them out less than a week later. read more

My daughter was interested in getting a lip piercing called a spider bite which I had never heard of. We have been to a few other piercing shops but this one really stood out. From the first phone call to the completed piercing. Elle was our artist and was great from the moment that we walked in. She greeted us with a smile as did the other artists in the studio. It was such a comfortable setting. Very clean, organized and really just a beautiful and tastefully done studio. Elle explains everything that we should expect and was just genuinely nice. Having been to a few other places I always hate the feeling of not belonging and/or sometimes condescending attitudes since I am sure I ask a lot of dumb questions. This visit changed my view because they were so warm and accommodating and answered all of my dumb questions. Elle did an amazing job as my daughter was a bit apprehensive about the procedure. Elle established an immediate connection with both of us and actually made the process so fun. She listened to where my daughter wanted the piercing placed and gave her professional opinion and within ten or fifteen minutes, we were heading out. A++ experience. I have contemplated getting a tattoo and all of their artists displays looked amazing so I know where I will be going for that. I am a 58 year old man who was blown away by this place. 100 percent recommended and want to say thanks to Elle for following up with my daughter so quickly just to ensure she was happy (she checked on her the very same evening). They are scammers. Sad that they care more about money than their loyal customers. I have been coming here for years but now they are trying to squeeze more and more money out of me for no reason. They took my deposit, I told them what tattoo I wanted, then Nate only finished half of the tattoo and said if I want it to be completed I need to give him more money. Even though we agreed before hand what tattoo I wanted and the price. I refused to give him more money and now I am stuck with a half done tattoo. I will not be supporting this business anymore, I am happy to bring my money else where. The customer service here has always been shitty, the guys that work here are assholes. read more

I was so excited to come in and get a couple of my tattoos that I loved and get them brighten up...I have always gotten compliments on my tattoos (I got them done in hawaii) but after coming here and Kevin worked on it...there awful looking now ( now I've actually gotten what the hell did they do) and I spent $280 and i called emailed left voice messages and messages on facebook and no response then finally 1 day I got ahold of someone who then with attitude was like fine send pics thru messenger so I can see what your talking about after we got off the phone once again no on will call me back and respond. I quit trying to get ahold of anyone because my husband said just don't. I don't want you dealing with these people anyways if this is how they run a business. I was super nice I never had attitude I am a very calm person. So i dont understand why they would want to treat the customers this way. Guess all they care about is once the money in there pocket they can care less about you. So beware and do research because this is this a place I will NEVER recommend and will NEVER return. Maple Valley Tattoo is the best tattoo shop around. I use Zack and he always does amazing work. I am currently working on my third tattoo at this shop and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I have both intricate and simple tattoos that both turned out even better than I was expecting. Some of the reviews mention no one booking their appointments over the phone and that is because they need you in person to put a cash deposit down to hold your appointment. All the artists at MV tattoo have years of experience and have done every tattoo imaginable (or something similar.) They always make you feel comfortable and will get you anything you need. They check in with you multiple times and offer breaks whenever you need to stretch. They provide beverages if you're thirsty, and will get you food if you're hungry (no eating in the tattoo area of course.) One of the best attributes of this business is the cleanliness. I have been to multiple tattoo parlors and I chose Maple Valley Tattoo because they are by far the cleanest and most professional. Everything gets wiped down and sterilized and the shop itself is un-cluttered and organized. They have updated appointment systems and and modern technology to easily aid still-searching customers on what tattoo they want. Overall, Maple Valley Tattoo is a place I recommend to all my family and friends. If you're looking for a CLEAN and PROFESSIONAL tattoo parlor, Maple Valley Tattoo is the best place within at least 50 miles. read more

This review is for the Piercing Studio. After going almost a year with out my jewelry, I couldn't handle it any longer, I need it back in, NOW!! I walked in last night asking for help with putting my jewelry back in. I had removed it all in June of last year before my summer job in Alaska, then went on to travel the world and kept forgetting to put my jewelry back in. Finally in trying to do so, nearly a year later, my holes had shrunk, not completely closed, but I needed help! They took me right in as a walk in, the piercer was just getting finished with some work on his own tattoo, I didn't have to wait long. It took no longer than 30 minutes for him to get everything back in place. During which they were playing "That's My Boy" on the big screen with Adam Sandler, I was laughing the entire time... OMG YAY!!! Done!!! I no longer feel naked and am whole again. Thank you Mister Piercer! (I think his name was Jim, but sadly I can't remember for sure...short term memory much?) I asked how much? "I don't charge for putting your own jewelry back in" so I handed him a THANK YOU VERY MUCH $20 bill and was on my way. Thanks for being awesome Maple Valley! read more

Years ago, I had looked at their website and did not find the type of style I was looking for. Times have changed. I took a second look when a woman I know said she was very happy with the work she had done there. The website shows a good example of the work done by a number of artists. I was looking for someone who could do nice line work and was impressed with Nate. My daughter and I had matching tattoos done a week ago and they are gorgeous. The tattoos have clean lines and they are both healing nicely. We will be returning to have tattoos completed with some more blending, but they are beautiful now. The shop was clean and orderly. The artists are meticulous about having a clean and safe space. Even the bathroom, though masculine, was very clean. read more

I had both my nipples pierced here about a 1 1/2yrs ago. Now realize I'm a big guy and can handle pain...6'8" 280lbs... First of all I never experienced so much pain in my life... And I've handled being stabbed in the leg, and never use the novicane at the dentist....but Oh My God!! I literally told the guy to get the second one through on the first try or I was gonna kill him.... After a year, they just wouldn't heal. I salt soaked them nightly. I went to the Laughing Buddha on Capitol Hill and found out the piercer went too deep. And wasn't supposed to use captive rings either... Took them out and all the tenderness instantly stopped... Sadly disappointed. Left a message via Yelp, no reply. I called the shop last Friday I was told they were booked up, I had to ask they guy to take my number so I could book an appointment. It's been a week with no reply. Maybe this is because I asked for a quote on a simple one color 3 inch symbol, he didn't know and some told him that the minimum job is $80. Not worth their time. I would rather have an artist that cared about what their doing. I would recommend Benjamin from Apocalypse on Capitol Hill, but he just opened a shop in Germany. When I checked this place out it was clean and the guys were nice. On the day of my appointment, however, my tattoo artist was ten minutes late and made me wait while he smoked a cigarette and texted on his phone. He didn't put me in the chair until a full 30 minutes after my appointment time. Yes, I was watching the clock. I showed him a photo of a delicate ring tattoo and he proceeded to draw it on my finger for my approval. Unfortunately, it was drawn with a thick felt tipped marker making it hard to evaluate the design. When my husband and I expressed concern, he assured us that the tattoo line would be much thinner. We told him we wanted the heart to be smaller and, overall, we wanted it to be petite. Because what he drew did not give me the opportunity to get a sense of what it would actually look like, I made the mistake of trusting that he understood. Meanwhile, his coworkers put the movie Not Another Teen Movie on the big screen. This was offensive and unprofessional even for a tattoo parlor. Had it been playing when we arrived, we would have left. Had we been staying much longer after it was started, we would have objected. The tattoo I received was not petite. It was not delicate. The heart was not smaller. I will post a photo of the one I showed him (on the left) and what I got (on the right). It was an awful experience. Probably my last tattoo (I have three). I hope they see this. I would never go here for a piercing again. I don't even think the piercer (kevin) should have a job there. My septum was pierced incorrectly which has caused healing problems and more pain than a typical piercing should. I wasted 50 dollars when I could have probably done a better job myself. That's how bad it was done. Not only that, I've had others come to me telling me their piercing horror stories from this place. It was too late for me though. read more

I went here with my friend to get cartilage piercings, I have 10 ear piercings and I have never had a piercer not talk to me at all when piercing. He didn't once ask if we were ready, or tell us what he was doing. Once the needle was in changing the jewelry hurt like a bitch, and the earring that was put in is way to short to accommodate for swelling. I've never been so uncomfortable getting a piercing before. read more

The space is clean and sanitary and a TV there to watch. For a tattoo, I don't think I would come back again though. I wanted something without an outline- freehanded, and I didn't get that at all. I also wanted to add detail to an old tattoo and another artist there told me it was impossible to cover some of he black ink. I went to Majenta in Renton instead and she added the detail I wanted no problem. I think the artists are talented, but do need some better customer service skills. read more

Got my ears pierced here a while ago. At first they seemed like a decent shop, very clean and sanitary, so I wasn't worried. I got two piercings on each earlobe so I would have a total of 3. The piercer had her teenage son hanging around the studio and I think she was distracted because she put them incredibly close together. I couldn't use my original piercing hole at all. I tried to make it work, but even the tiniest infant studs were touching each other. She did not instruct me how to take care of the piercings, just told me to come back if they swelled up. After about 6 months they were still not healing well so I went to a shop in Seattle with a great reputation. They informed me that the metal that was used wasn't good quality and switched out my earrings. Shortly after that, my ears healed quickly and painlessly. Go somewhere else. I ended up paying triple what I would have paid if I just went to a proper piercing studio in the first place, and healing took twice as long. read more

Currently I have my nose pierced, my triple helix, my tragus, three lobe piercings on my left ear and two on my right. I still want my nipples, three cartilage piercings, and maybe my tongue. I will be going to Jim for all of this. After doing my nose, I loved his attitude and finesse so much that I went back for my triple helix. He recognised me and knew me name. I knew immediately that I know had a piercer. I don't think I could go to anyone else for my piercings. I trust Jim, he even told me he wouldn't give me an industrial piercing because it wouldn't look good with my ear shape. I love honesty and I'd prefer that to getting a weirdly placed piercing :) I haven't gotten any tattoos from here (or any at all) but whenever I go in, the artists are working on artwork for other people and they seem really invested and focused. If the artists are anything like their piercer, I wouldn't worry at all! Love you Jim! read more

Had my first tattoo done there Zack was my artist and he was great! They are very clean and very open feeling. I will be returning for future tattoos for sure. Very well priced I thought! They sell plenty of stuff for aftercare. I was very impressed with Zack taking his time to draw my tattoo even though he was just copying a signature he really put a ton of effort in getting it exact which I feel it really is an exact copy. I provided a picture of a Sea hawk. The picture was of the head from the side (Logo) and It was 3D looking, almost leather looking in black. He said (Nate) "oh sure I can do that, I started doing things like that". He was looking looking at the picture. Let me say that again (he was looking at the picture). The end result is NOTHING like picture. I returned to say, hey!
