Everytime I go here, it sounds and looks a lot better than it actually is. Many Bennies is a cute outdoor ice cream shop next to SBP in Fremont. Their signature is soft serve ice cream that is fruit flavored. Their blackberry flavor is the most popular and objectively the best ("good" rating); I've also had the blueberry and strawberry which are decent and the mango which is way too sour and not worth getting. You can also customize your ice cream base, though it doesn't make a huge difference for the ice cream imo because I only taste the base at the very bottom. I've had the sweet cream and London fog and both are ok. For me the primary problem with the ice cream is that the fruit flavors aren't super strong and don't taste super fresh compared to other better fruit ice cream I've had. The idea of swirling fruit flavored soft serve is cool but their flavors don't really mix well to create something better. It's also super expensive for soft serve ($8 for cup before tax). There often is a long line and the service is quite slow, so you can end up waiting a long time. The staff are nice but they're prone to mistakes - I asked for strawberry mango but they gave me some random blackberry mix. They ended up remaking it for me which was nice but it's definitely better if that mistake was not made. Regardless, mistakes like these don't really affect my rating of the place. 4.1/5
I am not a huge ice cream fan since I'm lactose intolerant but when I heard this place opened up that offered a twist on ice cream, I was intrigued. Many Bennies offers fruit based ice creams, which was a really interesting concept to me so I had to give it a try. We visited on a Tuesday night and it was quite busy even 15 minutes before closing. The ice cream stand had a few seating areas in a covered area right next to a bouldering gym tucked away in a fully residential neighborhood but there was ample street parking. We waited around 5 minutes to order and the staff were really friendly and accommodating even though we visited close to closing time. We ordered the lemon raspberry and sweet cream base and I added strawberry to the lemon raspberry. The ice cream was very creamy and fruity and the presentation was SO CUTE. They also offer free lactaid too!! It cost around $6.50 for each cup of ice cream and it was quite a bit of ice cream too. I couldn't finish the whole cup by myself since the dairy caught up to me but I really like the concept of having fruit based ice cream. Very unique!
Very refreshing and perfect for the weather today, everything's outdoors so definitely better on a sunny or nice day. Recommend going on a Sunday after the market or even coming here then walking to gas works. In the ice cream we could definitely taste the fruity flavors and adding a topping was worth it in my opinion. The servings are also pretty generous although it was ~$10 (w/ topping) I shared with a friend and it was enough. People working were also friendly.
Many Bennies had been on my try list for a while, but I ultimately thought that the concept was fun, but the texture just wasn't my favorite. I ended up trying the earl gray base with blackberries and blueberries and what I didn't realize is that everything gets blended directly into the base before they serve it to you. Unfortunately, the berries completely overwhelmed the earl gray flavor and I feel like it also impacted the texture so it was a bit too water-y and not that luxurious creaminess that I'm looking for with soft serve. Logistics wise, you'll have to find street parking, but I've never had too much trouble with the residential neighborhood they're in. I went at 7PM before a late-ish dinner reservation on a cold, rainy Saturday, so there weren't too many folks in line. Their seating is technically out doors, but it's covered with plenty of heat lamps, so it was actually pretty warm to the point that I took off my jacket! I think it's fun if you live in the area, but I definitely wouldn't wait in line or go out of my way for it.
Super delicious ice cream. Located right outside SBP Fremont, this is a great place to go after bouldering. You are able to customize your ice cream by blending up to 2 fruits into their base. You can choose from many different bases and I got the limited edition lemon raspberry. I mixed it with blueberry and blackberry. So yum! They have free lactaid as well and vegan base if you want to avoid milk! The ice cream is the perfect size for one person and derive is quick. I will be back!
Never heard of this ice cream place before some friends took me here but this place is yummy! This is a fun little small New Zealand style(?) ice cream shop next to SBP in Fremont. Ordering is done at a window next to SBP, and there's a small outdoor seating area next to it with some tables and benches. I got a cup of the mango (seasonal option) with sweet cream base. Flavor was good! I liked how you can sometimes get mango fruit chunks in a bite of ice cream. The amount of ice cream which you get for the price is also great, my cup came really loaded up. The eyes which they add to the ice cream are cute, too. Not too enjoyable to eat though. Service was super friendly but somewhat slow, I think they didn't have too many people working so it took a bit of time to order and for the ice cream to come out, but the taste and quantity more than made up for it. Definitely a cool spot to grab some ice cream that's not a major chain like Salt&Straw or Molly Moon!
Life-changing ice cream? Not quite, but it's really good for the price and size. I walked by this place on a weekend after a run and noticed it had just opened. I've been seeing Many Bennies all over social media and since there was no line I figured I'd try it out. I got the sweet cream base with mango and strawberry ($6). I enjoyed the flavor a lot and thought the base + fruit complemented each other well. Because it's a softer serve you don't have to worry about it being too dense. There are places to sit and eat however it's all outside. On a colder day you may want to take it to go. I enjoyed this spot and will be back.
I've seen long lines of this place in summer, but didn't try until one day there was no line. Honestly, the ice cream was good, but not amazing. The texture felt a bit too dense, and I've had creamier ice cream. I would get it again, but probably would not line up for it. The service was quick, and the staff were friendly. There is a nice, open place next to it for seating.
Finally got to try Many Bennies in Fremont and I would say it lived up to the hype! I had a cup with the sweet cream base and tried the mango and blackberry flavors. It was super creamy and tasted like actual fruit (not too sweet and really refreshing). Also, we loved the cute little candy eyes on top, which was a fun touch that makes it totally Instagram-worthy. There is usually a long line (especially during summers), but we lucked out and came on a Sunday evening and there was no wait at all. Definitely planning to come back to try more flavors!
This new Zealand based ice cream concept blends fresh fruit with an ice cream base for a spectacular summer treat. The ice cream was fresh and delicious. We got the strawberry and mango. They're not as sweet as regular ice cream and therefore more popular with the grownups in the group than the kids! read more
The hype is real! One of the best fruit ice cream I've had in Seattle! I appreciate the natural and yummy flavors that they have. What a delightful surprise to discover this new ice cream spot! Their concept of fruit ice cream is interesting: you choose an ice cream base and a fruit, and they blend them together right in front of you. Plus, the waffle cones are freshly made. I personally think it's never too cold outside to have ice cream and with the Spring season here, the days will only continue to get brighter for longer and the weather will increasingly get warmer. The new Many Bennie's fresh fruit ice cream shop is located outside of the Seattle Bouldering Project in the Wallingford/Fremont neighborhood. Their ice cream is family-friendly and pet-friendly. It is relatively guilt-free and is a healthier option for a sweet treat that tastes perfectly not too sweet. Choose from the available options on the menu and create your own personalized flavor combination. On chilly and rainy days, enjoy your ice cream under a protected shelter with seating and heat lamps. Come on down and check out what the long lines and buzz is all about. Came during the soft opening and was so pleasantly surprised! Love the concept of fresh fruit and being able to mix multiple flavors. The texture was perfect and I loved the flavor. What a fun little ice cream shop! I know their lines can get crazy, so my partner and I got there 30 mins before opening and were first in line. You def don't need to be as aggressive as us though lol I think 15 mins before opening if you want to wait in a minimal line. The ice cream was really good! I did sweet cream with strawberries in a waffle cone. The ice cream was a little tart from the strawberries, and at the very bottom, it was mostly just sweet cream which was really good on its own! Honestly I think it was better than mixed with the strawberries. The cone was really good as well! Service was great - everyone was super nice and friendly. tucked away in fremont, many bennie's has been everywhere in seattle when it comes to their social media presence! i have never had new zealand ice cream until now and it is very light compared to the traditional ones sold. it starts with choosing a base and then a "flavor" which includes seasonal fruits to then add your topping and if you want a cone. the store front is a walk up window with outdoor and covered seating with some cute outdoor lighting and heating. i can see it becoming very packed on a nice day and there will probably not be enough seats to accurate everyone but you could take your sweet treats to gasworks it was so fun customizing what we got and the mango and blueberry flavors were so great! i did like the lavendar base but feel like it didn't mix very evenly with the strawberries. i originally thought the fruit would be made into sorbet but the new zealand ice cream is so refreshing and would be great for the upcoming summer :) the cones were nice and crispy with the flavor being reminiscent of fortune cookies! read more

WORTH THE WAIT! Been here a couple times now even with the long lines. The portion of the ice cream is huge and the homemade waffle cones are so so good! The price is reasonable compared to other ice cream shops! You get to choose your base and they have a vegan option. You also get to choose which fruit to add in. I believe it's up to 2. Wow! What a transformative ice cream experience. We stopped here on a wintery Saturday night and there was still quite a line. It's right next to the bouldering gym, which draws quite a crowd. You make a few choices about base flavor, add ins, toppings, and they do the rest! We waited about 15 minutes for ours to come out, but it was worth the wait. I chose the sweet cream base and a mix of strawberry and blackberry with a chocolate drizzle. The final product was bursting with flavor, bold fruity taste went so well with the creamy base and the chocolate drizzle complimented those flavors perfectly. Such a fun concept! Choose cup or cone, dairy or coconut base, seasonal fruits and toppings. Magic happens when the fruits are mixed with the sweet cream and the result is a lip smacking, luscious ice cream. Love the customizations. We got a plain sweet cream with chocolate drizzle for the kiddos and a mango with hot honey and lemon curd drizzle for us. Portions are huge! And they have pup cups too! How cute! read more

Taste: 4.9/5 I tried the sweet cream base with mango and strawberry in a waffle cone, and would get again and again. The waffle cone was still warm when served! The sweet cream base was not that sweet, but the real fruit brought up the sweetness level. The fruit was perfectly portioned in it and tastes real, opposed to artificial. The lavender base was overpowered by the fruit mix ins, but was present in the aftertaste. Cute eyes as decoration on every order, but did not taste good at all. Price: 4/5 Good portion for what you are paying for. Worth the extra dollar for the waffle cone. Service: 5/5 I was there on a Saturday at 5 pm with a short line. They were fast and efficient. We took the waffle cone- sweet cream-banana with graham crackers and chocolate drizzle. It stood its ground as a fresh fruit ice cream, not overly sweet but creamy enough to dig in. They have limited flavors but they pack a punch. Vegan friendly as well so draws another crowd. Went here when they first opened and been trying to go back but the lines have been crazy so took the opportunity to go on a sunny Saturday afternoon with only 3 people infront of me for the line. Service is so friendly and the spot is so cute. We got peach base and strawberry and blackberry mix in and cacao nibs. The first time we went I think we just got strawberry and I think strawberry is too watery of a fruit bc it's just not as flavorful. My friend got the sweet cream base instead of the seasonal peach that I got and I think the peach base made it more flavorful and all 3 of us preferred that. It's so funny to taste and see the little chunks of fruit in it. Overall great spot, so cute, would go back. Only complaint is when we go the ice cream it was leaning pretty bad and we kept having to try to keep it balanced --- on the plus I think we got more ice cream than our friend?? So maybe that made up for it. read more

Got lucky with the line and it wasn't very long at around 7PM! I've seen the line super long though. Overall the service was quick and staff were kind. The ice cream was really tasty with their homemade waffle cones! The ice cream was a bit sour from the fresh strawberry so I recommend the sweet cream and waffle with it to balance it out. Love the eyes too The standing area is a little crowded and busy but the area is nice to walk around if needed. read more

My first time at many bennies, and I will be back very soon! We came in on a Thursday at 6pm, the wait was about 10 minutes to get the icecream and order. We got the black berry and strawberry swirl with sweet cream ice cream in a waffle cone. The waffle cone was light and fresh, and the ice cream was also very fresh, not too sweet, and a great consistency. This is a great place for people who like fresh flavors vs artificial, with light sugar. I wish there was indoor seating since it was so cold out, but there's heaters outside. Overall 10/10 ice cream spot! Pro tip: Choose more than one fruit flavor to swirl! read more

Very cute spot with rotating flavor options. I had a blackberry/banana with sweet cream and it was really refreshing. It wasn't too sweet, in fact, it kinda reminded me of like a very thick smoothie in the shape of ice cream. Which honestly, I wasn't mad at all about that. The candy eyes were such a cute touch. So yummy! I've never had fresh fruit ice cream like this before but so happy I tried this place. Came on a Friday night before close. It was a bit of a wait but worth it! There was one person working (I believe the owner) and was so sweet and friendly. Unmatched customer service! I loved that the ice cream wasn't too sweet and more tart. The little eyes were so much fun! This place has a range of toppings which makes it fun. This would be a great treat if you're in the area or after you climb. read more
Our friend tipped us off on this place just south of Wallingford a block off Stone Way North after seeing a long line so on our way home from a Sunday we dropped by. On the day we went there was around 20 people ahead of us but it moved fairly quick. It's a pretty no frills ice cream shop that serves two types of soft serve - sweet cream dairy and vegan vanilla - with a choice of fresh fruit toppings and other optional side toppings for 50 cents extra per. You order at the counter and then wait for your treat! The ice cream is mixed with the fruit with a choice of a cup or fresh made waffle cone and then drill blender and comes out into a nice swirled mix! The ice cream reminded me of a place in Haleiwa called Sweet As less the $700 airfare. We got the mango with vegan vanilla and a blueberry with sweet cream and both were yummy. Not overly sweet which I liked and wasn't overpriced. The service was good and in total time we got our ice cream in less than 20 minutes. The ambiance was lively and it is outside under cover seating off to side for about 20-25 customers. To our surprise the owner used to go to school with my oldest son. Def worth a try! read more

The ice cream wasn't bad. The banana flavor tasted like an unripe banana so could have been better. It wasn't the best ice cream I've ever had, but it was worth trying. My biggest issue was that there was clearly some berry flavor mixed in with my banana ice cream and my friend who had strawberry/mango also tasted banana in hers. Love stopping here off of the Burke-Gilman Trail! There's a casual garden-y (and shaded/covered!) seating area, and they offer free water cups. Perfect pit stop for creamy, light, and refreshing flavor combinations. The employees are quick and attentive; the wait on a busy summer afternoon isn't any longer than at molly moon's, so I'm happy to watch the show through their huge kitchen windows! read more
