Here's a polished review that keeps your enthusiasm while making it flow naturally: I cannot recommend Dr. Bustamante highly enough. My previous dentist told me my tooth could not be saved. Because the filling from my old root canal was migrating, I was told the tooth had to be extracted and replaced with an implant. I wasn't ready to accept that, so on the recommendation of Dr. Ziv Simon, I sought a second opinion from Dr. Bustamante. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made. With extraordinary skill, precision, and artistry, Dr. Bustamante carefully removed the old root canal--like someone expertly diffusing a bomb--and successfully performed a new root canal, saving my tooth. His technical expertise is remarkable, but what impressed me just as much was the experience he and his staff created. Root canals are not something anyone looks forward to, yet everyone in the office was warm, reassuring, and genuinely kind. As I was leaving, I told the staff, "I've never had so much fun at a dentist's office." I am truly grateful to Dr. Bustamante and his wonderful team for turning what could have been a very stressful experience into one that was comfortable, positive, and, dare I say, almost fun. If you're looking for an endodontist who combines exceptional expertise with genuine compassion, look no further. read more

When my dentist told me I would lose a tooth, I saw Dr. Bustamante for a 2nd opinion. While I still could lose a tooth, Dr B affirmed my current regimen of flossing, waterpik, and nightguard was helpful and, suggested I also see a periodontist to perhaps extend the tooth's life. I appreciate his calmness and the justified glimmer of hope he extends under trying times. I've gone to him for years for root canals. He believes in saving teeth and he's got the creds and skills to do it. P.S. you will love his staff!! read more

Dr Bustamante is a perfect blend of skill, experience, gentleness, humor and a great bedside manner. My brothers and I grew up with horrible dentists who made us afraid of dentists. It has taken me a long time to get over that. I recently had two root canals. Not a walk in the park but not horrible either. His staff is also warm and sweet. If you need a root canal, he's your guy! read more

Dr Bustamante is the best at what he does. My mom and I have both visited him. He's so honest and I've had two root canals with him and he's skill set is unmatched. I've been treated so kindly by him and his staff. read more

I remember going to him many years ago and found the experience to be so pleasant I kind of got excited when a year later I needed another one?! Back to Dr. B! And yes, I wish he could do all of my dental work?! He and his assistant worked together like a well -oiled machine and let me add Dr. B is quite humorous as I recall - he had me in stitches for sure both visits. An absolutely delightful experience. read more

It's surely easier to leave a review for a restaurant, but this one's more important because I love eating so much. I've had the misfortune of needing a few route canals, dr. Bustamante is the only silver lining. He is a specialist and tactician, a true professional. The office is great, all the staff are super friendly, and the level of competence allowed me to just relax and let them do their job. I feel very safe knowing I can call and get help if I ever need. If you need a root canal, do not wait, go see these guys and put it behind you. Thanks Doc, and thanks to all your staff. read more

I had a root canal years ago, so when I needed another one I went back to the best, Dr. Bustamante and his assistant, Esther. Stress-free, pain-free and top notch results. I highly recommend them. read more

He is a dental GOD! Which were my exact word to him & his staff after each of my 2 visits. I had not been to the dentist in decades due to some neurotic irrational fear of dental work but when my back tooth chipped away it went from a minor cavity straight to a root canal. I was fortunate enough to have been referred to him by a friends trusted dentist. Honestly, I dont think the phrase "wonderful experience" should ever be in the same sentence as root canal but that was the case. Highly recommended staff & doctor. A+ & Gold Stars all Around!! read more

If you ever need an endodontist, Dr. Bustamante is your man. My general dentist had told me I "might" need a root canal. Well one night my tooth told me I DEFINITELY needed a root canal, waking me up in the middle of the night with an excruciating toothache. I called the office of Dr. Bustamante at once and left a message; they called me back first thing in the morning and fit me in that same day. Dr. Bustamante's chairside manner soothes; he actually told me he was sorry for my suffering and then numbed me up right away. He explained step by step exactly what he was doing and before you know it I was on the path to recovery. His staff is fantastic, too. My general dentist said it and it's true: Dr. Bustamante is the best! read more

Dr. Bustamante is a GEM! I was in EXCRUCIATING pain and my dentist referred me to him because she thought I might need a root canal. She was right. Dr Bustamante is so so kind, has wonderful bedside manner and is such a professional. I cannot speak highly enough about him. Because I had an abscess he wanted to put me on antibiotics then do the procedure a few days later. I couldn't wait, the pain was intolerable and he fit me into his schedule. I will never forget that feeling of kindness where they really hear that you're not ok, so they take amazing care of you. After the virtually painless root canal- I didn't know that could be a thing- when the anesthetic wore off the pain was GONE. I couldn't believe it. He's truly a miracle worker. Highly highly recommend him. read more

Marsha Lerner I give Dr. Bustamante 5 stars!! He has a very friendly staff, exceptionally clean office with the latest equipment! Dr. Bustamante kindly and quickly fit me into his schedule for an emergency appointment at closing time. He diagnosed the problem and resolved it in a short amount of time. He explained everything thoroughly and treated me with patience and great care! Excellent experience!! read more

Great! So nice and informative. We walked in nervous and they staff made us feel great. They showed us the process and explained everything to us. Totally recommend. read more

This is a first-class practice all around. Dr. Bustamante has a reassuring demeanor and immediately put me at ease with his obvious expertise. My regular endodontist sent me to Dr. B regarding a possible root canal. After an exam with state-of-the-art equipment the recommendation was to go slowly. He was not pushing me to rush into the procedure, and seemed cautiously optimistic that my condition might stabilize. All of my questions were answered, and although I'd rather not have a problem, I am confident that I will be in excellent hands should a procedure become necessary. ps: Although this is a payment-for-service practice, Eva took my insurance information to forward to my dental plan-- saving me the work of filling out paperwork for a reimbursement. Again-- first class treatment! read more

I never thought I could undergo a scary, invasive dental procedure (apicoectomy) and end up raving about the dentist, his entire office staff and the anesthesiologist he brought in. I'd give 100 stars if I could. Dr. Bustamante is kind, gentle, knowledgeable, caring and extremely professional and experienced. I'm a huge baby when it comes to any kind of medical procedure, but Dr. B. and everyone in his office made me feel like I was the only patient that ever existed and treated me so kindly. I was surprisingly calm (for me, that is) when I showed up for the procedure because I knew he was the best person for the job and that everyone would take care of me from start to finish - and they did. I truly cannot recommend him highly enough. And if he recommends that Dr. Anthony Chen come in for the anesthesiology portion - jump at the chance! Dr. Chen knows his stuff and had me laughing so hard before he started the IV - I went to sleep with a smile on my face. Amazingly wonderful experience. read more

I recently had my first root canal and was scared out of my mind about the pain. I had heard horror story after horror story about them and so I was stressed for two days before my appointment. I was referred to Dr. Bustamante by Dr. Randall Keller. I have a PPO and so that is how I was able to go to this doctor. He is not in the HMO plans. I had to get it done immediately since it was affecting my eating! My tooth hurt every time I ate anything! I called on Thursday afternoon and got in Friday afternoon. They were very accommodating to my work schedule and got me in when I could get there. The staff is friendly and he is very nice and personable. We sat and talked about college football and Minnesota and Chicago while he numbed my mouth. He reassured me from the moment I mentioned that I was nervous that it would be pain free and he was 100% correct. He numbed me up really well (so well, I was numb for 8 total hours). They get everything ready and start working and before I knew it he was like your nerve is gone and we are almost done. I had just had a crown put on and he was able to make the smallest of holes so I didn't need to have it redone. The entire appointment was about an hour. The price is very expensive but worth it. He told me that 40% of his practice is redoing botched root canals. I can believe it after all the stories I have heard. It has been two days now and my mouth does not hurt anymore and the sensitivity is gone. I am so happy with the outcome! read more

There is only one way to review Dr. Bustamante. That is over the top excellent, professional and friendly. His staff are all nice. I was having a serious problem with one of my rear teeth. My regular Dentist (Dr. Scott Kubota) referred me to Dr. Bustamante. I went in for the check up and there was what looked like a small problem on the x-ray. He told me I needed a root canal. He asked if I wanted to do it now or later as he had enough time to fit me in. Since I have heard so many horror stories with this procedure I figured if there was going to be pain just get it over with. He numbed me up really well. As the procedure went on he put a little more anesthetic. The problem was worse than the x-ray showed but he just went right thru and got it done. I could sense this guy is really good while he was doing the work. The only time it hurt a little was when the anesthetic was wearing off about 5 hours later. It is now the next day and all it well with a minimal amount of pain. I have to do a follow up appointment in about 2 weeks for the final cap over the tooth. Thanks for the great job! I highly recommend Dr. Bustamante! read more

I was SO afraid to get a root canal..thought it would be painful, bloody and horrible. Nope. Dr. Bustamante to the rescue! I had a bad abcess and needed a root canal so my regular dentist recommended Dr. Bustamante. I am a dental chicken- i get seriously sick from stress when i have dental procedures. This was a nearly painless process with no blood and no pain meds needed afterwords. Easy! The office staff is great, Dr. Bustamante is really nice and explains things and he takes pride in the work he does. And no wonder. He's really good. Can't recommend him enough! Wish he could do all my dental work. read more

I had a root canal and could not have been a better experience. Completely professional and caring. Very little pain during the procedure. Four stars would recommend to my family, friends, or anyone who needs outstanding work done right the first time and no worries afterwards. Thanks again doc for your amazing care! read more

Dr. Bustamante, is kind, patient, and thorough, and an exceptional doctor, he took his time and explained why I did not need a root canal. The first guy I went to see told me I needed an emergency root canal. I trusted Dr. Bustamante, and 6 months later no pain, and no problem. Was a tooth grinding issue, and wearing a night guard resolved pain. And I believe whole heartedly the first guy just wanted to make money of a root canal I didn't need. Be careful who you see. read more

I'm on board!! Read all the amazing reviews and took the advice of my new dentist. Dr. Butsamante made getting a root canal a pleasure. My dentist, Dr. Mead, referred me to Dr. Bustamante because my root canal situation was serious (face swelled up like crazy). I was able to get in very quickly and the procedure was as painless and expeditious as possible, in spite of the fact I had 4 roots/canals that had become very infected. I am impressed with Dr. Bustamante's work and would recommend him for anyone in need of a root canal procedure in Los Angeles. read more

Dr Bustamante is completely dedicated to his profession and is a total pro! I was very nervous about having a 2 appointment root canal done. So much so that my dentist prescribed me with Halcion to take before the root canal procedure. Having never gone to Dr. Bustamante's office, i opted not to take the drugs. When I got to the office I met with Dr. Bustamante and his assistant, Ethel. They were more than professional and assured me that i would not feel any pain. While I wouldn't call this process enjoyable, it was certainly not as horrific as I had feared. And this is all due to Dr. Bustamante's professionalism. Thank you Dr. Bustamante and your incredible staff. read more

As a result of being a tooth grinder, and many old BIG fillings, my adult life has had its share of root canals. I have been a patient of Dr. Bustamante for about 18 years after an initial recommendation from my dentist. This Dr. and his staff are simply the best. Put all stereotypical horror stories about root canals out of your head. you will feel nothing, and the Dr. and his office are as professional as it gets. PS Gotta love a dentists office that has a little dish of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups at the checkout desk ;) read more

My wife had three infected roots from poor Japanese dental work done over a decade ago. One apicoectomy alone can be painful and cause swelling. Dr. Bustamante performed three in one go (with anesthesia from Dr. Laura Matsunaga - also wonderful). The next morning, no bruising and hardly any swelling. No need even for any ibuprofen. This man's a wizard. Very kind and patient to boot. read more

Dr. Bustamante was referred to me by my dentist Dr. Masliah for a painful tooth. Dr. Bustamante was able to squeeze me in that afternoon and took care of the affected tooth that needed a root-canal immediately. The affected tooth already had a crown on it making it harder to work on, but he was able to complete the root-canal without having to remove or damage the existing crown. I'm pain free and very pleased with Dr. Bustamante and his staff for taking me in on this emergency visit. Seeing all the 5 stars is a true indication of a great business that takes care of their patients. Thank you read more
