I just had the most wonderful visit at Dr. Perea's office.
I have had two root canal treatments on the same tooth, done elsewhere. Both root canals (four separate treatments) were done in a 30 day timespan, and my tooth/jaw are so irritated.
I was supposed to have a crown placed today at my dentist's office, but my dentist referred me to Dr. Perea for a second opinion, because he could not account for my level of pain and irritation.
I decided to just drive directly from my dentist's office to Dr. Perea, so I could talk to someone face-to-face.
Firstly, what a GORGEOUS office. I could live here. It's such a beautiful space. The artwork is stunning, and everything is just perfect, and peaceful.
I love that even the people at the front desk are wearing scrubs. I don't know why, but it's just...a vibe that everyone and everything in the office looks fresh to death. Clean. Sharp. I love it.
I first met with Anthony (Antony? So sorry. Can't remember which it is), who was lovely.
I explained that I was in pain and he told me had had already received my referral, and asked if I had time to be seen today.
YES!!
Daniel set me up with the paperwork, which I filled out on a laptop (super convenient), and he ran my insurance while I was doing that (super efficient).
Less than 10 minutes after walking through the door, I was having my CT scan done.
Pretty rad technology...and it sings you a little song as it circles around your head, which cracked me up.
After ct, we did an xray. The lady who did both imaging sessions was absolutely wonderful. The sweetest. My brain wants to say her name is Sylvia? How awkward if I'm way off, and it's like...Becky. Annnnnyway, she's a sweetheart and is stellar at her job.
She handed me off to Dr. Perea, and...WOW!
What a gem of a person!
He was so clear in his explanations of both what is going on with my tooth, and what his suggestion is for my treatment plan.
He quickly, and efficiently, examined my problem tooth, and ALL teeth on the left side of my face, top and bottom.
He did several different tests to check for sensitivity. He checked my gums. Everything.
I appreciate that he didn't just look at the imaging, and send me on my way. I appreciate that he did some manual investigation, to be absolutely sure.
Ultimately, I ended up not needing a retreatment on this tooth (hooray!), so I can't speak to his work, but he is SO competent, SO intelligent, and SO thorough; if you are treated by him, I know you'll be in great hands.
What a pleasant experience.
Dr. Perea, his entire staff, and his beautiful office are all AMAZING.
