He was patient, efficient, honest, and so compassionate throughout the entire process. The two of them work so well together and made the experience feel smooth, calm, and reassuring. I just had a big cervical surgery but before I could get it, I had to get clearance because of a possible dental infection I had from a failed double root canal. I had moved up to the Bay Area a couple of years ago but when I told my amazing former dentist down here about the 4 wildly different opinions I got from 4 different endodontists up there, he referred me to Dr Seto. So glad my dentist recommended this place...especially since they were open on Saturday and took me right away with an emergency root canal..even though my original appointment was still one week away. Recommended and referred to from my dentist . The office space is super nice and clean but it is Santa Monica after all! The staff were super friendly and on top of it. They were a bit on a time table so even when I requested for more time for numbing they didn't allow for much extra time. However, I do appreciate their honesty. I was in there for a second root canal, and the doctor Seto reviewed and gave me the his honest opinion and experience where it would have gained him more money to have continue with the procedure as opposed to sending me back. I find that as I get older and the more dentist I see it is harder to find good dentists that are really there to look out for your health and the longevity of the pain that you will go through based on just completing a procedure to complete the procedure as opposed to providing a true analysis and what is beneficial for the patient. Ouch! Once again I felt that stabbing pain whenever a liquid made contact with my recently crowned molar. After an "I need to get in today" visit with my long time Santa Monica dentist, they contacted Dr Seto, who was able to see me right away. After his exam, I heard the words nobody in a dentist chair wants to hear: "you need a root canal". I'd had one ten years ago and it wasn't as bad as I'd feared. I'd woken up with a throbbing toothache on a Saturday and was grateful to find a good oral surgeon that day. But maybe I just got lucky? This was an upper molar that had just been crowned...how's that going to work? Dr. Seto gave me the option of getting it done that day so I went for it. He explained that he'd drill through the new crown. After a few skillfully placed injections and wait time, he got to work. I don't see how one could make this process any easier or less painful. He has a calm easy manner and you just know you're in good hands. Afterwards, he gave me 4 Advil's for the rush hour drive back home to the valley and recommended taking more as needed. Well, I didn't have to. Next day I felt fine and was able to enjoy my morning coffee pain free. The office and staff are first rate and let's not forget the free ground level parking. read more

As a dental student, I was personally recommended and referred to Dr. Seto by my school faculty in my search to find a doctor who could perform a relatively newly developed and not yet widely available endodontic procedure to save my tooth from a future root canal. His staff was incredibly welcoming, accommodating, and responsive, getting me in within the week. I went for my appointment and found the office modern and beautiful, with free parking underneath. Dr. Seto took every opportunity to talk me through each aspect and step of the procedure, assuaging any nervousness I had about it, and took the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly. He even allowed me to watch the entire treatment through a screen on his state-of-the-art microscope, stopping to point out and explain things that as a dental student, I would find relevant and applicable. He has an amazing soft touch and there was absolutely no pain during or after the treatment, and I received a follow-up inquiry the night of. It has been a couple weeks and my tooth feels 100%- no post-op sensitivity at all and I'm very optimistic regarding its prognosis. I was feeling a bit apprehensive when I found out I needed my FIRST root canal. I've heard stories of painful experiences. However Dr. Brandon Seto assured me it would NOT be painful. AND HE WAS RIGHT! My mosquito bite from a few days earlier was more painful. I had NO pain from the root canal procedure or even from the injection area of the numbing medication! A few weeks later I was speaking with my cousin who also heard stories of people with painful root canal procedures. However she also had no pain from her root canal. When I asked her who did the procedure she said Dr. Rauth [can't remember if it was the father or the son] who are also in the same offices shared with Dr. Brandon Seto and his father! Just wonderful! As a practicing dentist on the west side myself, I'm familiar with most of the endodontists practicing here. My patients always come back really satisfied with his treatment and as such I have trusted him to treat my family through the years as well. This morning however, Dr. Seto has left me speechless! I had a filling done on one of my own teeth by a friend last year. Over the past couple of days, the tooth has started to bother me a bit but as a dentist myself, I was thinking how could I need a root canal? Well, last night (Friday night) the tooth flared up and my pain was unbearable. I called Dr. Seto's office at 7:30am (Saturday morning) expecting to leave a voicemail. I was referred to this endodontics clinic by my general dentist - I had an old root canal that wasn't done properly, so a re-treatment was required before the crown could be placed on the tooth. Doctor Seto did an amazing job - the process was painless and took much less time than I had originally anticipated. I had a nightmare of a day when a simple visit to the dentist for what I thought to be a teeth grinding induced toothache turned into a referral to Dr. Seto and a root canal that same day. It's a bit out of my way, so it was great he was able to accommodate me the same day, especially since I had to go back for a second visit / root canal. Dr. Seto puts you at ease and the whole thing, albeit awkward, was completely painless. And at the end, the pain for the toothache that I had originally gone in for was completely gone! He sent me home with a prescription for antibiotics and an appointment to return in 2 weeks for a follow up root canal. I wasn't thrilled about having to go back, but it was included in the same price and shows how thorough Dr. Seto is in wanting to make sure that he got 100% of the infection. He also said I'll get a postcard in the mail in 6 months for a free x-ray / follow up to make sure things are healing properly. Because he drilled through my crown to treat the tooth, we had the option of whether to fill the crown or replace it. This wasn't entirely clear to me as he told me that the crown looked fine and I should be able to re-use it - but when I went back to my referring dentist - she said he would have only sent me back to her if it needed replacing. Turns out he just wanted her to take a look and give her opinion - but he hadn't called her before my appointment so there was a bunch of confusion as to why I was there because I didn't think it needed replacing. Just a small miscommunication and I could have asked more questions to make sure I fully understood the situation. Also the claim they sent in to my insurance (out of network) was lost in the mail and I had to follow up when it hadn't gone through over a month later. But once it went through, they promptly sent me a refund check for my over payment (they charged $500 for an estimate of my co-pay). All in all still very happy with the whole experience! read more

My fiancé ended up needing a root canal. Dr. Brandon Seto is one of the endodontist that we refer out to at the practice I work at. It was really nice of them to accomodate us and get us in, in the middle of the day. My fiancé had been experiencing some discomfort on one of his teeth and when they opened up the filling the pulp was aggravated. So we decided to go ahead and get a root canal on the tooth. He no longer feels discomfort and is really happy with the job Dr. Brandon Seto did. My fiancé expressed how thorough the doctor was and is really happy with the result. I was referred to see Dr Brandon S. for a root canal. First off, the office was super clean and elegant! The staff was Friendly and helpful. I took my brother to Dr. Brandon Seto earlier this week for an emergency root canal because of a dental abscess. Dr. Seto was fantastic - great disposition, very calm, and took the time to explain what was going on and what to expect. My brother was in a lot of pain and very scared prior to the procedure, and I was a little frazzled from all the angst, but both of us left feeling so much better that not only had the infection been treated, but that my brother was in very capable hands. The root canal was completely painless as well, despite major preexisting sensitivity to the area. Later in the day, my brother checked his voicemail and found that Dr. Seto had personally called to follow up and check, leaving his personal number in case there were any questions or concerns. That really impressed us both! That's something that *may* happen with a country doctor in a town with a pop. of 100, but in LA?! What a nice guy! My brother is recovering very well too. If I ever need a root canal, I don't care where I may be living, I'll go here. read more

My first impression of the dental office was so relaxing the front office staff is just fantastic, and the Dentist was so professional, yet very compassionate, I felt so at ease due to the welcoming from the moment I walked in the door. When the assistant seated me she made sure I was comfortable, and within 5 minutes the Dentist Dr. Brandon Seto came in the room and introduced himself. Brandon Seto was referred to me by my general practitioner dentist (Dr. Kenneth Wong in Santa Monica). Dr. Wong is a five star GP, and suggested that for my Root Canal on my front tooth done 20+ years ago I get a second opinion on if it was done properly and if my front tooth would potentially require a porcelain veneer. Dr. Seto was extremely professional and patient, and provided expert advice. From my experience, he did not push me to do an operation that he did not feel was necessary (eg. a porcelain veneer on the tooth), and helped provide an accurate assessment of my situation. This helped me to make a more informed decision on if I want to get a veneer placed on the tooth (decided not to). In addition, his office is top notch, with state of the art equipment and digital x rays. The front desk staff is also professional and friendly. I would highly recommend Dr. Seto for all things root canal related. Note: Everyone's specific situation is different, so please do not take my review as dental advice. Beyond amazing! I was in pain for a week and because it was radiating all over my lower and upper jaw and x-rays didn't show any cracks or chips so we had to wait and see. Finally, it was clear that my molar was the one and Dr. Seto did all 4 root canals on it (in two visits). The pain was gone along with the numbness of the shot and I was in disbelief. Amazing experience! I was referred here by my main dentist when it was discovered that one of my upper right molars needed a root canal. The entire process was very smooth and I felt zero pain both during and after the procedure. Dr. Seto was very friendly and also took the time to answer my questions and address any concerns I had. At the end, he took a new x-ray of my tooth to make sure everything was in order, which he didn't charge me for. When I went home, I did some research on my own and found out that the upper right molar is actually one of the most difficult teeth to do a proper root canal on, due to the presence of a hidden tiny canal in that tooth called "mesio-buccal 2" that many dentists either completely miss or skip over, which often leads to the root canal failing later on as a result of its bacteria not being cleaned out. Dr. Seto found it and thoroughly cleaned, reshaped, and filled it along with all the rest of the tooth canals. I couldn't have asked for anyone better! read more
