I don't post on Yelp much but I totally feel compelled to right this about my experience at Dr. Rami Etessami's office I had recently. As soon as I walk in I was greeted by Bre who works as the front desk receptionist and was extremely personable and kind from the get go. I brought my father in for a root canal and was waiting in the lobby for maybe a minute or two before they called my father in, wow that was fast! Not too long after I noticed my father walking out to the waiting area where I had been waiting for him and tells me we are done let's go! I couldn't believe his root canal was done quickly and effortlessly. I thanked Bre and thought maybe I should see Dr. Etessami for my root canal as well do I made the appointment for myself for the following day. Needless to say I showed up the next day and again was greeted by the fabulous Bre and within a couple got taken in to see the doctor. They took an X-ray of the area where I needed the root canal and noticed there were two teeth next to each other that were both in severe need of root canals. The Dr. explained to me that I could get this done in one or two visits depending on me. I figured let's just do both of them today and he gladly obliged. From the beginning I told him that I'm a BIG BABY when it come to pain tolerance from my teeth and have had a few terrible experiences with this kind of thing but he assured me all will be painless! I swear after not too long the Dr. told me he was completely done with both root canals and I was in complete shock! There was absolutely no pain or discomfort at any point at all! It was an absolute delight dealing with Dr. Etessami and his wonderful staff making me feel completely relaxed and totally painless. He gave a pain medicine for after the numbing where's off but I didn't even need it. I'm totally grateful for Dr. Etessami and his staff for everything they've done god me and my father and would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone that needs work done on there mouth! Thank you Dr. Etessami and Bre read more

I came to doctor Etessami with two root canals that needed to be re-done. He took his time and gave me his honest opinion and told me that was a big chance he could save my teeth. He spent many hours doing both root canals which were very difficult due infection in the bone. I'm now recovering and going well. I'm very thankful for Dr. Etessami's excellent work. read more

Dr. Rami is not only an incredible endodontist but an incredible person. My four year old was just seen by him and I am beyond thankful for his compassion, professionalism, and patience. He called a couple days prior to the scheduled appointment just to check up on her and to leave some kind words to leave us at ease. I have a very dramatic little one when she is pushed outside of her comfort zone. To say that Dr. Rami was patient through all of that is an understatement. Although she was in no pain, the dramatics were extreme from her and Dr. Rami worked quickly and diligently and had nothing but kind and calm words to share with her through the whole process. I will forever be thankful to him and the amazing experience. I cannot recommend him enough. read more

It's hard to find words to express how happy I am now that my dental infection was relieved By Dr Rami Etessami! He performed what's called an apical ectomy That's something that's a lot more complicated than a root canal. Anyway, he did a great job. He also knew how to calm my highly freyed Dental patient nerves __I'm also on call public school teacher here in Los Angeles... Maybe i've taught some of your kids? But anyway, now I can go back to school with a smile on my face. Thanks so much to Dr. Rami. If he works on your teeth, you won't go wrong! Karen Krasner read more

Considering this was my first root canal, I could not have asked for a better experience. Dr. Rami was so kind, attentive, and patient. As someone who suffers from needle phobia, I truly did not feel the needle he used to numb me. That is a miracle. Dr. Rami helped distract me during the process too, and even used guided meditation throughout the procedure to keep me calm. He is such a warm, kind-hearted man, and I am so grateful for his bedside manner, and care. Brianna at the front desk was very kind and caring as well, as was the nurse, Nancy. Grateful for all. read more

Dr. Rami is a skilled, compassionate, kind and caring dentist. He picked up my emergency call on Saturday and made arrangements to see him that Monday morning. This speaks volumes to the kind of doctor who cares for his patients. My experience with the root canal procedure was painless. Dr. Rami talked me through the process which put my mind at ease and educated me about the process. I can't speak highly enough of his skills, caring and professionalism. Dr. Rami personally followed up with a call to see how I was feeling that evening. It doesn't get any better. I would give Dr. Rami more than five stars if Yelp would allow. His staff was also very friendly and accommodating and the view from the chair was amazing! read more

Wow, just amazed at the skill, professionalism and the kindness of this doctor. Having problems and anything done on your mouth is very confusing, stressful and scary. I live in Los Angeles, but I am not from here. I had a regular dentist for YEARS and came here and did not know where to go when I began experiencing pain and the crown came off of my back molar. I went to a few different dentists...even though I was doing as much research as possible, I was inevitably just shooting in the dark. I had one tell me I needed my tooth removed!!! I felt an instinct to keep searching and I found Doctor Etessami. Thank God! Seriously...I feel so lucky and blessed to have found this wonderful person and amazingly skilled doctor. I believe my tooth was a difficult case bc of the decay, placement etc... He saw me RIGHT AWAY and scheduled me again soon after. He explained everything and did such an amazing job! He specializes in root canals, so I would need to see someone else for a crown as well as someone that could be my regular dentist. He gave me recommendations.. but life got in the way and I didn't get a crown on the tooth. Bad move on my part certainly... Last night part of my tooth broke off when I was eating and I was scared to say the least. I still had the doctors personal number and even though I know he only does root canals, he's the only person in that field I trusted... I texted him at like 10 at night and asked if I could see him the next day and if he could look at the tooth and point me in the right direction. He is very busy but he fit me into his schedule! And point me in the right direction..he did:) He sent me for an emergency appointment with a dentist (who is fabulous and now my new dentist) downstairs and now I have a temporary (soon to be permanent) crown on my tooth. My tooth is saved an cared for!!! I am so incredibly thankful words cannot express it. Thank you Doctor! read more

While I would have preferred to be on holiday in Vienna this week, being under the care of Dr. Rami and his incredible team turned a disappointment around. Thank you Dr. Rami for your compassion and professionalism. I am hard-pressed to think of receiving that level of care and I have been very blessed with amazing doctors and dentists in my life. I have always been in awe of anyone in the medical profession because it is so far beyond anything I could do, but what I learned this week from you is that regardless of what we all choose as our path in life, we can all be a little more empathetic and compassionate every day. Lastly, thank you for making me laugh. Laughter is a great cure for pain! read more

Dr. Etessami was amazing!! I went in for a consultation for two wisdom teeth I desperately needed removed. My teeth were painful and inflaming the gum around it and Dr.Etessami made time that day to remove the teeth. The entire process was painless and quick. He ensured I felt no pain during the extraction and was focused on ensuring I have a quick and easy recovery. His professionalism and his warm and caring personality made a trip to the dentist (something I have extreme anxiety about) unbelievably easy. Dr Rami Etessami is a miracle worker, I had seen several specialist but Rami may be the kindest and most gentle doctor alive. He figured out my issue quicker than I thought humanly possible. THANK YOU, Rami : ) and your entire crew. I went in with a botched root canal and was emotional about it... Rami immediately saw that it was infected, he gave me antibiotics and got me in the next morning for extraction. I trusted him in my heart right away, everything flowed for the first time in a long time re: my health. He gets to the point and answers your questions and concerns... he is very reassuring and you feel it, a total expert and kind man. Before I left I was still teary-eyed, it all hit me the really almost abusive treatment I endured for 2 months of 3 visits for a root canal elsewhere... I asked for him as I was leaving, and he came out into the lobby and just gave me a big hug!! On the morning of the procedure, they took good care to give me something to relax... as I'm on the dental chair he asked how my mind is, even though I knew I was in good hands, I felt nervous about any pain, and I just couldn't endure anymore... so he put his hand on my forehead and had m breathe 3 times slowly. He talks very warmly. Then he says a prayer with his eyes closed, just wow!!! He is very caring when administering the local anesthesia... next, I feel a jiggle of my tooth, no pain just a jiggle, and I thought ok, it's going to get a little deeper now and then I hear... "ok, we are finished, beautiful.. you did great" HAAAAAAAA!!! I couldn't believe it! I was blown away. He made sure I was feeling ok, and the girls in the front contacted the person picking me up ... Rami gave me my home care plan any supplements or meds needed. He also worked out a payment plan for me, since it was out of pocket. So appreciative, so kind! Next was the check-up to get the stitches out and the follow-up after... all were great... healing beautifully!! I loved going there, I wish they had another family member that did regular dentistry for cleaning, etc. so I can keep having this wonderful treatment!! For all and anything to do with dental concerns that he does, I will only go to Rami. Thank you a million times!! I love you and your amazing staff/crew!! read more

Dr. Rami Etessami is a fantastic doctor! I highly recommend him! I was introduced to him through a friend, and I called the office line because of excruciating pain on a Saturday night and he immediately took my call and addressed the problem and had me come in on Monday for a check up. I came to him with a reoccurring issue that another dentist failed to address. Dr. Rami took a very thorough and thoughtful approach to ensure that he does not subject me to additional procedures that may not be necessary. Ultimately I did need a root canal that was very challenging but he handled it with such professionalism and grace. I should note being pregnant I was very concerned but he quelled all my anxieties and worked quickly to ensure I am not uncomfortable. He has excellent bed side manner and leads with kindness and compassion. He's absolutely brilliant and I should note even teaches at UCLA so he is very knowledgeable with all sorts of issues and questions you may have!! read more

I went to Dr. Rami for my second opinion, and his opinion made ALL THE DIFFERENCE. Long story short, my first endodontist, who was glowingly referred to by dentist and was absolutely professional, suggested I bypass getting a retreat and just get my tooth extracted. Why? Because after taking X-rays and a CT scan, he suspected there was a crack in my tooth. Coupled with the fact my tooth had shallow roots, he felt it was the best option. As much as I respected his opinion, the reality of having my tooth extracted and the several thousands of dollars I would have to spend getting an implant, etc., I felt compelled to get a second opinion. Thankfully, I went to Dr. Rami for that second opinion. After a thorough evaluation, Dr. Rami also guessed I might have a tiny crack in my tooth but nonetheless believed he could still save it -- as well as my existing crown (i.e. more money for me to save!). He essentially glued the tiny crack while doing my retreat, and I am proud to say, three months later, my tooth has been healing beautifully and all indications point to bone growth! I am SO grateful to Dr. Rami. He was attentive, professional, honest, and compassionate and even personally gave me a call to see how I was doing after he performed my retreat. He saved me so much time and money. I would hands down recommend Dr. Rami if you're having endodontia issues. He's really an exceptional doctor and will offer you the best treatment you could possibly hope for. read more

I was referred to Dr. Rami Etessami by my dentist when I called and told him how much pain I was in! When my bottom and top teeth touched, it was excruciating. My dentist suggested that it was probably an infection and that Dr. Rami could help me. Skeptical and nervous as I was, I made the appointment for that afternoon. The entire staff was polite and welcoming. When I met Dr. Rami, I felt total relief and calm as he introduced himself and told me what had to be done. That first appointment was a breeze! Even though I was nervous, the Novocaine did not hurt going in and once numb I felt comfortable to be worked on. Did I mention that I am dental phobic? Dr. Rami worked quickly, and I was able to relax, something unheard of with other specialists. He explained what he would be doing and proceeded with the procedure. It was over quickly. I was so pleased with Dr. Rami. Not only is he a fine endodontist, he is a kind, compassionate, caring person. The day after the procedure I received two phone calls. One call was from the dental office wanting to make sure I was alright and see if I had questions. The second call came from Dr. Rami himself! He was so warm and caring as he was also calling to check on my recovery. I was unnumb (I just made up a word!) in less than 2 hours, something unheard of in my past. This quick fix was followed by a root canal the next Monday. All I can say is it was the easiest root canal I have ever experienced! It was quick and PAINLESS as I listened to music through my earbuds and smart phone. I highly recommend this wonderful dental office, especially Dr. Rami!! read more

Let me start off by saying Dr. Rami is the best dentist that I ever went to! Back story to me, I've had traumatic experiences with dentists as a child. When I was 6 a dentist shot my in my mouth, waited 2 minutes and then came back to drill on me. Not only 2 minutes later I could feel the drill in my mouth, it felt as if someone was hacking into my skin. I screamed. I screamed and I cried and I bit that dentist when it happened. From then on that's when I knew I couldn't get numb. Countless times through my preteens and adulthood I told dentists countless times that I couldn't get numb and to give me the whole needle. For some reason they wouldn't listen to me and only stick me once... After the 6th and 8th time of being stuck they would have to give me something else because my skin in that area became White. 10 years had went by and I didn't go to the dentist. Just 2 years ago I was eating corn nuts and I cracked my tooth a little bit. I went to the dentist and she cracked my tooth...EVEN FURTHER... To the point where my nerve was exposed. Her excuse was "You need a root canal". She did that on purpose and I never went back to her because she messed up 2 of my teeth in one sitting. She put porcelain caps on my teeth WITHOUT NUMBING ME and wasn't forcefully making it hurt. Needless to say my fear deepened. For 2 years straight I chewed on 1 side and let the pain keep me up at night until I couldn't take it anymore. I found Dr. Rami on Yelp just like many others I was skeptic and I allowed him to look at my tooth and take x-rays. Dr. Rami was the most gentle dentist I have ever had. He understood my pain, he heard my story and he assured me that I would get numb. One week before I had my surgery I called him every day (excessive I know) he never lost his temper with me, his staff never got annoyed with me and they assured me that I would be fine. Now to DDay, he gives me another reassurance (I'm in the chair crying at this point), he lets my friend sit there and hold my hand with me. After the laughing gas was put on and he numbed my area, he even shot the site twice just because I asked! Throughout the whole procedure I felt... NOTHING! Tears of joy could not express how I felt about Dr. Rami and his staff. They talked to me, took care of me, helped me to and from the bathroom and walked me and my friends through my care. Even after my surgery is over he called just to check on me. What dentist do YOU KNOW does that? Please go to him, he's the best upon the best and I VOW you will NOT be disappointed. read more

I'm extremely scared of dentists. And when I realized I have to get my wisdom tooth removed in Los Angeles I didn't know where to go. Being referred by a friend I found out about Dr. Rami. Due to the holidays approaching, I really wanted to get it done fast. I called the office (planning on leaving the message) on Friday 10pm, but dr. Rami picked the phone himself and not only was very nice and understanding he scheduled me for Monday first thing! The office is very welcoming and all the stuff treat you not like a patient but like someone they knew for a while. I have a very high tolerance to anesthesia so I asked to get a nitrous oxide to relax. The whole surgery went VERY FAST AND PAINLESS. Even the first anesthesia injection was painless. Dr. Rami was gold hands!! If you're scared of dentists (like I was before) this is a place to go. If you're not - this is still a place to go! Best experience I've ever had!!
