I was concerned that it'd be hard to get the joint properly repaired, and/or prohibitively expensive. I stopped by Custom Metal Manufacturing around opening time. The workshop is a treasure trove: minibikes, custom signs, and sculptures everywhere. Ed and Gerard were super friendly and great storytellers. Ed looked at the frame, said "I can fix that", and fired up his welding gear right away. Ten minutes of good conversation later the work was done, and at a very reasonable price. The umbrella needed to be replaced, but none of the new ones would fit in the sleeve. I designed an adapter which would fit over my existing tube and would add an adjacent sleeve for the new umbrella. Pawl fabricated it for me. He crunched some numbers, found it it's cheaper for them to cut it for me vs me buying a bigger sheet and spending my own time cutting it to spec. They saved me hours of work for something that may not have turned out as nice as how they cut it. It took about 20 minutes and the gentleman was nice enough to walk out to the parking lot to find me and let me know. I parked in the back and they brought it out to my car. I changed the specs last minute and they accommodated that too. My buddy told me everyone here is helpful and nice and that's 100% the truth!
