The crew worked with me to make sure the handrail was at the right height and even installed an additional support bracket when I requested it. They had all the equipment to create a custom handrail on-site. When I approved the fabrication, they removed it, painted it, then re-installed it. The guys were super careful about not getting paint on my walls and left my property spotless. On top of doing a great job at a fair price, the crew and owner were really nice guys. Highly recommend!

If you're looking for welding or similar metalwork, your search is over. Go here…read more I recently bought an old steel bike frame with a very poor repair to one of the joints: there was barely any metal holding the joint together, and there was a hole melted in one of the tubes. I was concerned that it'd be hard to get the joint properly repaired, and/or prohibitively expensive. I stopped by Custom Metal Manufacturing around opening time. The workshop is a treasure trove: minibikes, custom signs, and sculptures everywhere. Ed and Gerard were super friendly and great storytellers. Ed looked at the frame, said "I can fix that", and fired up his welding gear right away. Ten minutes of good conversation later the work was done, and at a very reasonable price. The joint is now reinforced with ample steel, and the hole is closed up. Everything I hoped for and more.

I am absolutely thrilled with the final metal pedestrian side gate design that was installed today…read more From all the online communication with Jose to an in person consultation with Leo, it was a very delightful experience compared to the three other gate contractors I met with. Also their website, portfolio, information, and contracts are super detailed and clear, which promotes confidence and demonstrates to me they care about their brand. Leo is a true artist. He has a very calming vibe to him. I wanted a gate design that would be harmonious with the Tuscan ranch style exterior of our home and also different from anything that I saw online. At our initial consultation, I had some sketches and couldn't exactly pinpoint what I wanted. Leo showed me color samples and iron accent books. He was the only one that brought this for me to view which was extremely helpful. Basically at the end of our meeting, we came to a pretty solid conclusion of what I would like. His pricing is very reasonable and was competitive with other quotes and I felt he added a lot of insight and artistic value. He didn't put limitations on what I wanted. I was told by other contractors that I shouldn't and couldn't do certain things. I'm glad I stuck with my gut and hired Resolute Iron Works. The gate was delivered two weeks ahead of the promised date. Installation took about 5 hrs. Leo and Jason did a fantastic job. The area was clean when installation was done. I would highly recommend Resolute Iron Works to anyone who wants a gate that isn't a cookie cutter design.

He came to us with samples of all his railings. Being able to see the finished product helped us decide what style we wanted. We ended up changing our mind after seeing the samples, so this was really helpful to us. Later on, he came out to measure multiple times--before and after the floors were down--to make sure everything was perfect. He matched the wood to our floor in to help create a seamless look. He was super careful when he installed them not to damage any of the new construction. Everything came out perfectly. The glass railings look beautiful and well worth the investment. I would highly recommend Joey.

Trimetric Specialties in Union City was given three drill bits to shorten and re-machine, a simple…read morejob. But they failed. My foreman picked up the bits and the first one broke after drilling a few holes, and the other two were taken back. The flaws are evident in the re-machining, photographed below, the grooves drilled are not the same size and shape as the original, but rather than measuring precisely the grooves in the bit machine by the manufacturer, they seemed to be done by eyeballing each bit and slowly improving. The best is the one photographed below. After 5 ADDITIONAL MONTHS, Trimetric did nothing to improve their shoddy work, except make promises every 2-3 weeks that they would do it the following week, but never did. Finally, I went back there and picked up the bits and took them elsewhere. My advice is to avoid this place. My time and money were lost on this shop.

Just recently, we went back to get a few more shelves (what better review could there be), I realized I never posted about how happy I was. We were originally looking at big box stores for some organizational shelves for our garage. I figured we would be able to find something, but honestly I was amazed at how bad the choices were at most places: flimsy shelves, not many options for sizes, and the prices were not even all that cheap. Finally, I expanded my search, and found Western Shelving. I thought they might not want to deal with a private homeowner, but it was no problem: I called them up, told them what I wanted, and picked up the parts with no problem. The price was close to what the big box stores were charging, and the quality is seriously incredibly better. Really, there's almost no comparison: the shelves we put in last year, and have used/abused with all sorts of heavy, messy garage equipment, are working perfectly. Like I said, when we decided to add a few more shelves, I didn't even spend any time considering other options -- I just went right back to Western Shelving.
