We hired Joey to build a railing and hand rail for our remodel. We needed to replace old wooden railings that were removed as part of the remodel. Great experience all around. He came to us with samples of all his railings. Being able to see the finished product helped us decide what style we wanted. We ended up changing our mind after seeing the samples, so this was really helpful to us. Later on, he came out to measure multiple times--before and after the floors were down--to make sure everything was perfect. He matched the wood to our floor in to help create a seamless look. He was super careful when he installed them not to damage any of the new construction. Everything came out perfectly. The glass railings look beautiful and well worth the investment. I would highly recommend Joey. read more

Beautiful stair rails of metal, wood and glass. Joey and his crew are passionate about their work and did all of the installation themselves which took 3 days -metal, wood and glass. They kept our house clean by protecting the floors with cloths and covered the wall with paper. Overall a great job and we are very happy with our rails. read more

I had asked joey to come and repair a section of the stairwell. We had scheduling conflicts at first so we didn't get it completed for about a month. But within a reasonable time, Joey followed up with me and set a new date. I didn't have to follow up or had to push him to get a repair done. He came by today and go the job done quickly. Honest, hardworking and attention to detail are unbeatable. Did a major remodel with 1000+ sq ft addition. I had issues with many of the subs, but Joey made sure railings was not part of that :) He made several visits to ensure he got the correct measurements, fabricated my complicated curved rails on site and most importantly helped me out immensely with a very fast TAT. He had 10wks ETA on his estimate, but he moved stuff around and got it to us within a month. He is a very good honest guy. Very very happy we found him. His pricing is very very reasonable. Joey and crew took all the necessary precautions to keep the house clean, mentioned about touch up needed and cleaned up afterwards. Oh and the stairs look amazing!! read more

We went with Joey (based on his good reputation here) to remodel our stair and second floor railing. Glad we did. We wanted a modern look and so went with glass, stainless and wood top (stained to match flooring). He listens to what you want and gives his professional opinion and cost + timing expectations. I can tell he is a humble, honest, reserved, no BS, experienced, hard working kind of guy. His work is organized, detailed and precise. The majority of the work is done with his own hands (at his shop + onsite) with the help of his workers. He shows up on time everytime he says he will. The entire project took about five separate visits for different stages of work and about 3 weeks once I put a deposit down. His pricing is competitive and reasonable (he does not negotiate) in my honest opinion. He is good at what he does. Very happy with the results. Highly recommend him. Tip: he is busy and working from 8am-6pm and probably won't pick up or respond - Call him between 6-8pm for best response. read more

I don't typically write reviews, but I cannot speak highly enough about our experience with Iron Activity -- they did an amazing job replacing our bannister and handrail for more modern metal and wood fixtures. Their work is beautiful! Joey was very responsive and proactively communicated with us throughout the project -- he made the whole experience completely stress free. Having dealt with a number of different contractors recently, he's easily the most professional. He was always on time, COVID compliant, extremely detail oriented, and left our house clean. (He even covered up some old holes / stains left by our old railing and re-primed the areas for painting!) They did an awesome job - would definitely recommend them if you need a new stair railing! read more

This review was long overdue since our project was completed in 2021.  We were impacted by the pandemic and everything that came along with it including the supply chain issues in 2021.  After looking through Yelp, Iron Activity had consistent reviews and 5 star rating by others, so we knew we wanted to work with Joey. We totally appreciated that Joey mentioned upfront that his work volume is high and that we would need to be flexible with our timeline. He came out a few days after we reached out to him to look at the our stairs and laid out his steps for us. Since our new floors were not installed yet we had to wait for it to be done before they can start work on the railings. Once our floors were in, Joey came out to measure and place tapes on the floor to mark where the posts will go into. The fabrication took about a month (we knew this upfront since he had explained it during the first meeting) so it was fine and he didn't leave us guessing like other contractors. It took a few days to installed because if you were there to see the workmanship, Joey and his guy took really good care of the entire installation. They covered the walls, they meticulously measured the space again and installed all the pre-fab pieces together onsite, sanding down the wood handrails and cleaned up at the end of each day. Wow, just an amazing job and the tremendous amount of effort that they put in to the final product. The price for the entire thing was reasonable for what we got. Thank you very much Joey and we know who to call if we ever need iron railings. read more

We hired Joe to replace our old iron stair railings with something more modern. Well, Joe & co are very professional, skilled, and fast at what they do. They finished the job in two working days within the same week. They fabricated new stainless steel stair railings, and they were able to weld them onsite for a fully custom build. It looks great. The price was great as well. The only caveat is that Joe is really busy with a really long work queue. It took months before we were able to get a schedule, but it was well worth it. imo I would give them the downpayment as soon as possible to secure your spot. read more

My husband and I recently had our staircase redone and needed new railings. We wanted the modern industrial look and were looking and inquiring everywhere for a business that will do the job properly, safely and up to code. We ran into Joey's business on Yelp and inquired. Joey is very responsive and got back to us right away. He sent an email with the types of railing options and the pricing. Joey then came out a few days later to measure and to give us a quote. He is very knowledgeable about all aspects of the railings. He is also very professional, efficient and trustworthy. The time frame took about 2 months from the time Joey measured to finish. Joey informed us from the beginning that because their business is fully booked that this is the earliest time frame. My husband and I decided to go with Joey and the production of our railings started. Once done Joey came in and installed it in 2 days. We couldn't be more happier with the result. The stair railings are beautiful and very modern. read more

We worked with Joey to design, manufacture, and install new railings for our front porch. Joey was extremely responsive from the start, competitive in pricing, and always followed through on his commitments. He was pragmatic with his suggestions, including the installation of a gate at the front of the porch (an absolute must if you want to deter package snatching from your front door). The railings and the installation were of high quality, and we routinely get compliments for the quality of the installation and how good it looks. read more

We used Iron Activity for two projects at our home. We first hired Joey and his team to design, build and install a combined stair banister and handrail. In his second project, he helped up repair and reinforce our iron gate. The first project was a much larger, more significant project, one that he took on with ultimate professionalism. His project is one of the highlights of our remodel. But he was no less enthusiastic and diligent in tackling the gate project because he knew it was important to us. He was able work us into his schedule, upgraded door frame and returned promptly to customize the gate to accommodate our new lock. And in both cases, his work was excellent, his craftsmanship superb and his focus on quality was spot on. We've come to rely on Joey and have referred him without hesitation to our friends looking for his kind of craftsmanship. On one referral, knowing that the style of metalwork our friend was seeking was outside his expertise, he didn't hesitate to recommend someone else for the job. It's a pleasure to know professionals like Joey - someone who shows interests in your project, provides expertise and produces high quality results, that are on time and on budget. read more

We have been extremely pleased with Joey from Iron Activity for our stair rail replacement/upgrade. Joey is professional, knowledgeable, thorough, punctual, and tidy. From our initial contact we were completely impressed. Before his first visit, Joey provided many examples of his work and the styles we could consider. At his first visit to see our house and the job, Joey brought physical examples of the styles we had interest in. He also made the majority of the measurements he would ultimately need to fabricate our hand rails. As we finalized our decisions, Joey visited us again to confirm our design and made the final additional measurements. Lasers, levels, and tape measures were utilized. Every visit was made on time and at our convenience. When the fabricated materials were complete, we agreed on a date for installation. Joey gave us an estimate of the time necessary and then beat it. When the job was complete, we were thrilled with the results. Not only did he do a complete clean up, he also repaired most of the scars the previous stair rails had left , even where bolts had previously been used into our tile. There was no sign they were ever there. We believe if you decide to contract with Joey and Iron Activity you will be more than satisfied! read more

I'm a designer and project manager for the new-construction project in the residential industry. I work with sub-contractors for all trades needed. We are remodeling our entire house including the stair railing. We wanted a metal/steel railing for modern look but another guy job referred by the contractor did a very bad job in the joint welding and we just could not accept it. With the bad experience, we started our search again and found Joey on Yelps. We worried of repeat episode, so we wanted to see samples and went visit Joey's workshop. His professionalism assured me to move forward with him despite having to wait (which will delay our inspection) and his quote is a little high. However, we have no regret using him. Joey is precise in taking measurements and he is detailed in final touch. The screws on the railing base has a cover plate hides the screws which is a very nice feature. We love our new stair railing! Please don't let his quote or wait time scare you away. He is well worth the money and wait time! read more
