I am absolutely thrilled with the final metal pedestrian side gate design that was installed today. From all the online communication with Jose to an in person consultation with Leo, it was a very delightful experience compared to the three other gate contractors I met with. Also their website, portfolio, information, and contracts are super detailed and clear, which promotes confidence and demonstrates to me they care about their brand. Leo is a true artist. He has a very calming vibe to him. I wanted a gate design that would be harmonious with the Tuscan ranch style exterior of our home and also different from anything that I saw online. At our initial consultation, I had some sketches and couldn't exactly pinpoint what I wanted. Leo showed me color samples and iron accent books. He was the only one that brought this for me to view which was extremely helpful. Basically at the end of our meeting, we came to a pretty solid conclusion of what I would like. His pricing is very reasonable and was competitive with other quotes and I felt he added a lot of insight and artistic value. He didn't put limitations on what I wanted. I was told by other contractors that I shouldn't and couldn't do certain things. I'm glad I stuck with my gut and hired Resolute Iron Works. The gate was delivered two weeks ahead of the promised date. Installation took about 5 hrs. Leo and Jason did a fantastic job. The area was clean when installation was done. I would highly recommend Resolute Iron Works to anyone who wants a gate that isn't a cookie cutter design. read more

AMAZING experience, I would love to work with them again! Leo and Jose (father son duo) were extremely professional and quick to respond to my questions and scheduling quickly for a quote. Leo arrived on time (he even had to wait for me!) and patiently answered all my questions. He took notes and drew pictures for me to understand what he would be building. We are thrilled with the way everything turned out. I chose to go with them b/c 1) it's a family business, you can tell they care about their customers. 2) Ladies - they take you seriously and talk to you with respect. I never felt Leo talk down to me b/c I had questions. He answered them honestly about the pros/cons of my design requests. 3) when Leo says he'll do something and on what day/time, it's always done as he promised. We even got pictures of the work that was finished when we were away on a trip! Just give them a call and see for yourself the service they provide is excellent! read more

In need of someone to fabricate and install metal handrails atop a rebuilt exterior stairway, I was extremely fortunate to find Resolute Iron Works. As much as I think the front of our house is very attractive, the handrails may be the house's best feature -- they are that beautiful. Leo took an Internet photo of handrails that I liked, and crafted a masterpiece. Not only did Leo precisely match the design, he made the handrails thicker than the photo, and with subtle scoring on the scrolls that make them a work of art. Leo provided advice on the finish (satin) that would work best, and he was spot-on. Jose, Leo's son, provided progress updates from the fabrication to finishing, and anticipated installation date. Everything went smoothly -- how often can one say that about a construction project? My thanks to all those who posted positive reviews of Leo, as they led me to his website. Leo covers a large area from his Hayward base, so check with him to see if he services your address. Leo is truly an artist and gentleman. It was an absolute pleasure to talk and correspond with Leo and Jose, and I absolutely recommend Resolute Iron Works without hesitation. read more

I can't say enough about how happy I am with the work that Resolute did. I was changing out wooden fences and wanted metal driveway gates that offered privacy too. Leo, the owner came through and exceeded my expectations! His attention to detail from the get go at our consultation visit was clear. Leo even got into how wide the horizontal and vertical spacing should be to enhance the look of the final product...things that never occured to me. The build was on time, flawless and executed to the Nth degree. I've already had other contractors and friends compliment me on the gates. 5 plus stars! read more

A+++ for Resolute Iron Works! We looked around for a company to install both a large metal driveway gate and a smaller pedestrian gate. Upon meeting Leo, and after explaining what we were looking for, we know he was the right person for the job. He took his time listening to us and talking to us. He asked questions and made suggestions. Afterwards, we felt very confident that Leo would provide us with exactly what we wanted, and he did not disappoint. Turn around time from when we placed the order and when the gates were ready to install was faster than expected. Installation went without a hitch. In addition, he and his crew were respectful of property, on time, friendly and left the area as clean as when they arrived. I can't recommend Resolute Iron Works highly enough. read more

One stop shop for amazing design, fabrication & installation services. Leopoldo Villanueva can do it all! Leo had great ideas and wonderful suggestions on design for my two balcony railings in the Berkeley Hills. He then ran with it and created beautiful work that addressed all of my needs, delivered on time and installed perfectly. I had water intrusion concerns from previous water damage on my decks, so Leo suggested side-mounting the railings, and made sure to caulk the bolts as they were installed. I was impressed with how smoothly everything went, and I appreciated the ease of communication & professionalism evident throughout the design, build & installation process. Pricing was a good value & the best I found. I highly & wholeheartedly recommend Resolute Iron Works for your next project! read more

I'm very happy with my new gate. (Apologies for the garbage cans in the photo; try to ignore them.) It's nice to know that true craftsmanship still exists in our modern era of mass production of stuff that isn't likely to last long. This gate will outlive me and my heirs and successors. The cost seemed reasonable to me, though I'm not a good judge of it, given that, of the three companies I contacted, only Resolute Iron Works responded! Anyway, I am well pleased and am relieved not to have to deal with my rickety wooden gate anymore. read more

Leo and his team are in a nutshell rockstars (which is another way of saying qualified dedicated professionals). We had a relatively small project that required short sections of fencing and 2 gates situated between stone pillars. The gates needed to auto close and latch to be within code for a pool enclosure. The end result in my humble opinion is awesome. Leo communicated clearly throughout the project. From quote to install, each milestone was completed on time. And I could not be happier with the end result. read more

We used RIW to replace the gates for our driveway and side yard. The whole team was incredibly professional. They worked with us to come up with a custom design and then they executed it brilliantly. When we couldn't decide on a powder-coat option, they had samples created so we could evaluate them at our house. And the installation went very smoothly. At every step of the way, they responded to questions quickly, communicated exactly what they were going to do, and communicated when they were going to do it. We're really happy with the work they did, and are already planning to use them for another job in the future. read more

We needed a new outdoor railing for our entryway steps. We contacted Resolute Iron Works and received a prompt response. It was clear during the subsequent appointment that we were in expert hands. Leo understood our desire to be both practical and stylish and almost on the spot, proposed a design that we immediately endorsed. The ultimate installation went smoothly and the final product more than met our expectations. The railing is now an often-praised and welcome feature of our house. Contacted Resolute for modifications, repairs and additions to my wrought iron fencing and gates. I needed this work done to meet county fencing requirements as well as fixing some issues I've had since I moved in. Resolute's owner Leo came out to see the scope and price the job. During the job walk, Leo had several suggestions for the scope. These suggestions not only improved the final product but actually resulted in reducing the price compared to my ideas! Resolute's crew completed the project ahead of my aggressive schedule. Quality exceeded my expectations! Looks fantastic! Passed county inspection! When we met him - we had so many ideas and he was literally sketching a proposed gate as we spoke. He was honest and offered ideas that we didn't think of. He delivered 4 beautiful gates and it felt good to know that he cared about his work. He was passionate and the end products reflect this. The gates are beautiful and I am so glad we met Leo. The team at Resolute Iron Work is absolutely fantastic. We had the gate installed over a year now and after some beating with whatever rain we get here in the Bay Area, fire ashes, cold, and hot summer I can safely say the product is high quality. They are very transparent with their pricing and work. Leo is very creative, especially when it comes to drawing some design on his sketch book. He was able to make some design right there and then during the first assessment for a quote and I'm absolutely blown away by it. My experience has been nothing but great and I honestly, wish I had more reason to call them up to install more. But, our house is not big enough for more gates. read more

9/9/23 Leo and team from Resolute Irons Works did a great job in repairing several areas of my 25+ year-old wrought iron fence that had weakened due to rust. The process was seamless. Our job was not large but did take most of a day for 3 workers, one of which was Leo himself, to complete. When Leo initially assessed our iron fence, he professionally pointed out areas of failure from rust that we had failed to notice explaining how those areas will lead to more failure. There was never any pressure to add those areas to our original repair list; but we did. All costs were transparent before work began. The team arrived as schedule. We told Leo that we ourselves would like to paint all our fence once the repairs were done. He helped us find the correct paint and purchased it for us. I would highly recommend Resolute Iron Works! read more
