I am sure it was a challenge to be bending 18 ga SS metal and get it correct to 1/8". Taking care of the surfaces and ensuring grain direction is per customers preference. And a good price. I needed custom cut stainless to protect the stone tile backsplash around my gas cooktop. This job was kind of a retrofit and needed to look good, stainless over tile. Therefore, there were some special cuts to account for the stone tile's rounded edge. Before I even knew about Odie, I had purchased standard sized stainless backsplash sheets thinking I could them myself -- mistake! Then I looked online for product cut to fit and discovered the shipping alone would double the cost. I emailed them with a drawing for a simple stainless wall panel. It was a pretty simple item in 18 ga stainless with a few bends in it. I received a fast quote via email and a follow up phone call (from Maria). They wanted a deposit for my job which is fine but I had some difficulty getting back in touch with them as they were out for a few days. Due to the "no response", I was about to go elsewhere but Maria eventually called me, letting me know that they had been out of the office and things worked out. I did eventually come by to drop off a deposit and the place was pretty empty and a bit of a mess but things worked out. The work was done quickly and with high quality. We never thought I'll need a sheet metal shop service. However, we recently moved and our house has laundry on 2nd floor. We bought new washer dryer but the deliver attempt failed because we were not aware the drain pan that sits beneath the washer come in different sizes. (learnt the hard way). We were desperate for laundry appliances (2 small kids + covid situation in the house)! We started our search for a new bigger washer drain pan. Looking around for 2 weeks, we figured a local metal shop can help us achieve what we need. I found Mike from Odie Sheet Metal, super responsive via text, respective communication, understood my ask, but unfortunately they said dont do this on a regular basis, so it would be a one off order. I took a shot with Odie Sheet metal, talked about the timeline, exchanged few drawings for the measurement as they dont do field /site visit. I shared all the measurements with drawings to share with him and he delivered a new high quality steel drain pan in 24hrs. (the conversation was going back and forth for a week but product was delivered in 24 hrs). We couldnt believe our laundry misery could end just like that.
