I took home some meat pies. Spanakopita. Feta pie.... Took home the Greek salad . We were able to try the Greek meatballs since The gentleman had us try it.... Oh so yummy !! My friend got the wrap version of what I was eating, but the thing that bothered me the most was how both of our food came out, but her chai Latte never came out. I have to admit, I wouldn't have found this place on my own but I frequently check out Rich's profile to see where he's been. He has a knack of finding the hidden gems especially in Clearwater. When I saw that he's checked into Manos 2x recently, I had to check it out. Manos is located in a small strip center on the corner of Hercules and drew street (there is a westshore pizza in same shopping center). Upon entering I immediately fell in love-the smells, the menu board, the pastries on display and the warmth and friendliness of the owner and cashier. They immediately offered me a sampling of their spinach pie and a cheese like phylo pie-sold! Ill take one of each. Their tempting displays were like a force I couldn't conquer. "Here try this"! Yep ill take a container of those heavenly cookies. Manos offers sandwiches and salads too, unfortunately I couldn't get past the goodies on display. I have driven past this establishment tons of times without stopping, after seeing a fellow Yelpers 5 dear reviews, I decided to give it a try. Upon entering I was greeted with the hustle and bustle of a hard working crew and a glorious display counter full of yummy goodness. There are more sandwich, wrap, pita and desserts than I expected. I was told everything was made in house everyday and given a sample of the custard pie YUM! I decided on a cup of broccoli and cheese soup and a meat pie. My total came to $7.60, not bad for fresh made quality products. The meat pie reminds me of a grown up Sloppy Joe with a perfectly crispy filo crust. The soup is warm and inviting and packed full of heartyness. I'm glad I stopped in today, definatly won't be my last visit. read more

When we walked in the first time, we'd been on a journey to find donuts, but Hren's nest was closed, Yelp directed us here. There's no way, in a million years, that you would find this little store if it weren't for the reviews or a quick trip to get pizza. The tiny store in the strip plaza is barely noticeable when you're looking for it! But take the time to stop in, just the same. We didn't find the donuts we were looking for. What we DID find was a mom-and-pop bakery cleverly disguised by a meticulously clean building, incredibly friendly and professional service, reasonable prices and oh-so-delicious savory AND sweet treats. Not quite knowing where to start, we asked the girl behind the counter what her favorite (phyllo) pie was. Her response was shocking and brilliant: "Oh? You've never been here before? Here, TASTE ALL THE THINGS." She then proceeded to cut up each one of the pies for us to taste. We ended up buying one of each and some baklava for a grand total of $13 The Pies: Meat: Tastes very similar to a sophisticated Sloppy Joe. Spinach: A perfectly delicious spanakopita. Custard: Wow! I have never had something like this so I have no basis of comparison, but it was basically a warm custard in phyllo dough sprinkled with powdered sugar. The Baklava: As to be expected. Sticky, dense, way too sweet for my tastes, unfortunately, but not in any way a failure on the treats part, but rather my own palate. It was perfectly executed, although served with a plastic knife and fork seems a bit absurd. We were stuffed. Beyond stuffed, really. I thought I as going to die. This place is a hidden gem located in a small plaza with a Westshore pizza and it is hard to spot and easy to miss. After coming across this place through my fellow yelper reviews I knew I had to give it a try. I decided to stop in and I am glad I did, they have traditional Greek cuisine, they have a lot of different baked goods you can get such as muffins, custard filled pastries, and various cookies to choose from. They also have cuban coffees, and expresso's. The staff are extremely friendly, and the owner came over to make sure everything was good with our food. I decided to try their Chicken Bacon Ranch panini, the grilled chicken tasted great, the tomato and lettuce tasted fresh and delicious. I did not care for the ranch, which did not taste homemade, however it did not ruin the sandwich. They let us try a pastry they had out it was custard filled flaky goodness, I thought was great. Before I left I decided to give their Cafe Latte a try, I must say this was my favorite part of the visit, I am a coffee fiend and I thought it tasted great and kept me wired long enough until my next fix. We had a ton of fun sampling various Greek pastries and cookies. We are not experts but we can assure you, they are delicious! This was not the standard baklava spread! Instead, there were sweet and savory phyllo-based pastries which included feta cheese, spinach, fruit, etc. The definitely Greek proprietor kindly and patiently answered our questions but we ended up trying five items. They also had multiple kinds of fresh bread but we didn't get a sandwich, instead focusing on the pastries. Our espresso drinks were ok but I wouldn't say they were the best. They also didn't have soy or almond milk. I guess in Greece, it's go cream or go home. As for the selection, we arrived in the afternoon so some items were sold out. On one hand, this was a bummer. But, it's great to know they are made fresh every day! There is a simple solution I suppose... Go earlier! As for the location, it was truly spotless. A good stop for some quick, delicious food! The Premium Greek salad I got was great. Usually Greek salads come with Greek potato salad, but this one comes with hummus instead. You won't miss the potato salad with this substitution, I promise. The salad dressing is great with all of the flavors. I also had to order a spanakopita, and that didn't disappoint. I was just a little hungry for lunch, and I needed to pick up a birthday cake alternative. I remembered this place was in the general vicinity of where I was yesterday afternoon and finally stopped in. Why did it take me so long?! And on a side note - I'm glad I don't live conveniently close to Manos or my diet would be shot to hell. First, the boring stuff. This little cafe is minimally decorated, but clean, and has a few tables to work over your breakfast, lunch, or coffee and shared dessert (which I saw while I was there). The cashier was super friendly and offered up a sample of both the spinach pie and that crack, uh, I mean custard pie. There were a few different people working in the back, but none of them ever interacted with me, so I can't comment on them. The pastry case has a few selections of cakes; they didn't look empty or sparse, but there weren't so many I was overwhelmed looking. They also had a nice selection of breads (including those small rings covered in sesame seeds... they looked like the Turkish "simit") and pre boxed cookies. I stuck with getting the sweet stuff to-go. Lunch options include things like paninis, wraps, salads, sandwiches, and several kinds of pies. I ended up making an order for a meat pie, the Greek salad and spinach pie special, and four of those custard bougatsa pastries after the girl gave me that gateway taste. The Greek salad was great for being so cheap. The lettuce and veggies were fresh, a nice sprinkle of feta, the dressing was actually really flavorful, and it came with a little slice of bread. The spinach pie was good, but I think the meat pie was better. It was really well seasoned, and they didn't skimp on the filling. But the real reason this isn't just a 4 star review is the custard pie. Even after taking it home, reheating it on super low heat in a pan, sprinkling a little more powdered sugar and a little cinnamon it was as good as the warm sample I had much earlier in the day. Actually, I could have reheated it and had it for breakfast. And lunch. What the hell did they do to make those things so good? Long story short: Run, don't walk, to Manos and eat all the bougatsa so I can't have any. They are the crack of Greek pastries. read more

Manos is one of those places I've driven by 100s of times, but never tried until a friend invited me to join them recently. We came at lunch time. The menu has so many tasty options, it's hard to decide. They offer everything from classic Greek dishes to wraps and sandwiches as well as coffee. I decided to try the mandarin orange chicken wrap. It doesn't come with anything on the side, so I was worried it wouldn't be enough food, but the portion was generous The service was friendly and food was served quick and fresh. Its a small strip mall with a hair dresser, pizza place, maybe another shop or two, and Manos. Inside is okay - nothing special, but its clean with a few cases of salads and desserts and a griddle in the back for the hot items. My girlfriend and I both got a panini - she got a grilled veggie and I got a Cuban. She really enjoyed hers. I liked mine - not your classic Cuban. Firstly, it wasn't on Cuban bread, which was actually a drawback for me and probably why I won't go 5 stars. It wasn't as good as it could have been on Cuban bread, or if it was on Cuban bread, on good Cuban bread. The pork was also different. Maybe it was marinated in something or had some kind of sauce on it, but I really liked it. Very tasty. Sorry, that's not very descriptive, but picking out flavors isn't my strong suit. This place is a hidden gem tucked away in a mini-strip mall on the southwest corner of Drew St and Hercules Ave in Clearwater. It may be hard to see as you're driving by but it's definitely worth the stop. It's not a huge place but there's plenty of seating. We've had the pitas and wraps and they were all great tasting and fresh. It leans towards being a Greek restaurant but has plenty of non-Greek options. Something not to be missed are the deserts. Everything is made fresh daily with no preservatives; just real melt in your mouth ingredients. The prices are reasonable and the staff are all exceptionally nice. If you get the opportunity you should definitely chat with the owner. His passion for the food he makes is contagious and he's a really nice guy. Definitely recommend this place. read more

The hand written menu makes it personal, and I enjoy little touches like that. Now to the reason for our visit, the food! I found this on Yelp (sorry Google), and it got good ratings. My wife and I wanted a quick, affordable, and good tasting lunch. We walked in and were greeted warmly. The food behind the glass make it look like a bakery plus. We ordered a cheese steak panini (I forget the name of it) and a house salad with grilled chicken. Both were absolutely delicious. On one hand I never want to order anything else because they were great, but on the other I want to try more stuff. The steak was juicy, the chicken was full of flavor, the dressing was awesome. We also got a pastry thing, and while I wasn't overly thrilled by that, I still gave this a 5 star rating because of how great the lunch was. Completely unexpected from a place called "Bakery Cafe." Service was awful. It was not busy when I stopped, but I waited 10 minutes to be greeted and waited upon. The employee at the counter was busy chatting with a regular customer (at least they seemed to know each other) and did not even pause to acknowledge my coming in. The other two employees were doing something behind the counter, and neither acknowledged me, even when I tried several times to get their attention, until one of them finally came over to take my order. If the chocolate croissant had been good, the wait may have been worth it, but the chocolate was not very sweet and the pastry was too flaky and made lots of crumbs. A Greek bakery without having to drive to Tarpon Springs, I'll take it. The friendly staff is just an added bonus but greatly appreciated. Always have been helpful and cordial. Another very large plus of this place is for a bakery / sandwich shop is the amount of seating and also a few tables that can fit a larger party of say 8. So a great place if you have a group or want to have an afternoon meeting over coffee / tea and some good treats. I was amazed by their 4.99 breakfast sandwich. They literally make a small omelette with cheese and meat of your choice then put it on a fresh croissant. The meat and spinach pies are ready to eat. I much preferred the spinach as I thought the meat was just kissing some type of pizazz. They do have a selection of muffins, Danish and pastries. I wish there was a larger selection of the sweets as sometimes I want to bring a box to a client but find the selection a bit limited. All in all a great breakfast, lunch bakery. read more

Drew Street in Clearwater is known for good many excellent Mexican taquerias. But the best kept secret is Manos Bakery. WOW. What a great find The spinach and custard pie (or whatever it's called) is off the charts here. Stopping by on a slow afternoon, and you just might get to chat with the owner, who represents at least 3 generations of bakery operation prowess going back to Greece itself. This family knows Greek bakeries, and it shows in every bite. That conversation alone is worth the time to stop. But I challenge you to just enter the door, smell the goodies and walk out empty handed. I dare you. Double dog dare you. Their pies are amazing - spanokopita, meat pie and bougatsa. I did not try the tiropita however I am sure that it is equally amazing. Real greek treats at great prices as well. We met the owner who graciously offered us samples of all the pies, some cookies that just came out of the oven and the most DELICIOUS little cakes. This is a lovely family owned spot. I almost passed it on the way over because it's in a little strip mall just off the road and with cars parked you cannot really see the businesses. Any Who it's next to a cell phone repair shop and Westshore pizza. I got the chicken bacon ranch panini and and a cafe latte. I also tried the custard flaky pastry. All was good minus the cheap bottle type ranch dressing on the panini. The bread is homemade and pressed perfectly until everything's nice and melty hot. Cafe latte was really really good. They did not over do it on the sugar like most places seem to do. The custard pastry was really yummy. Although I could not see myself eating more than a little tiny slice of the large rectangle. This is not about the food but and the ammenities. Food was excellent but we specifically went there to get some computer work done and eat. We called ahead to confirm wifi, a gentleman answered and said they did. When we got there the wifi it didn't work, so we asked for help but no one could assist. . Very disappointed. We ordered breakfast and coffee in anticipation to get some work done and have lunch there. Please don't advertise that you have wifi if you can't get it to work. I'm always looking for a neighborhood environment to support local business and now I have to go to Starbucks where I know I will pay of an overview priced lunch and a noisy atmosphere. :( read more

We went here while on vacation in Clearwater. It's in a strip mall somewhat off the beaten path for tourists. We had taken the kids to Moccasin Lake Nature Park (which was also great!). So this is a bakery/deli with a full menu that includes Greek specialties like gyros and spanakopita, but also many healthy sandwich and salad options. The menu is divided into pitas, panini, wraps, salads, and coffee. They also have fresh baked goods. Our kids had made-to-order turkey subs, which were served on toasted ciabatta rolls. I had one of the specials, which was hummus, olives, avocado, lettuce, and tomato on ciabatta. My wife had a Caesar salad. Everything was delicious. The ciabatta was perfectly soft and tasty. Our kids devoured their sandwiches, pronouncing them "num num." And to top it off, they gave us a free sample of a delicious custard pie. A+! read more

We came here for lunch and it was good. I ordered the Tuscan chicken panini. The sandwhich was good but I wasn't a huge fan of the bread they used. It was a little soft for a panini but the chicken part of it was good. There desserts look amazing. We got to try a piece of the bugatsa which is a custard filled pastry and it was delicious. This place is wonderful! Thanks to Yelp review we gave it shot! We tried the Tuscan chicken, buffalo wrap, Bravo chicken, and jalapeno steak which we all delicious! The staff was super friendly and gave us a free sample of dessert since we hadn't been here before. They also will let you sample just about everything if you can't decide. I heard almost every guest say in a way ,"the food was awesome! I'd eat here everyday if I could." That says a lot! read more
