Accidentally found this place last year while searching for a bakery to have breakfast. My Aunt who has lived here over 40 years had not heard if this place, and we were SO glad we found it. My boyfriend and I stopped in for lunch and each got a sandwich. While we were waiting we got to try the custard pie and it was amazing, not overly sweet but delicious and flaky. I got the chicken bacon ranch and be got the Buffalo chicken. The bread is homemade, soft on the inside and a good crust on the outside. They definitely fill the sandwiches with meat! Best secret in this area! We have not ordered anything that I don't like from Manos. The sandwiches and salads are top of the line. The Cuban's are amazing, fresh roasted pork! Wish the ham was not Lunch mean (preservatives). The Caribbean Mango Salad is truly fantastic! Our guys buy it all the time. What's even better are the fresh baked goods. The bougasta is perfect. Went for lunch based off the glowing reviews. We ordered the Gyros, which were ok, but nothing to write home about. We did enjoy that they're human sized, but they could have used less lettuce and more meat and tzatziki. And speaking of the tzatziki, it could use a little more garlic. The food quality and flavor here would be hard to beat at their modest prices. We've dined in and ordered take-out several times. The place is modest, but the food is top drawer. The food was pretty good and although I didn't try the baked goods, they look fantastic. The only downside is that the cafe doesn't have WIFI or many outlets. Only an issue if you're trying to do some work while eating lunch. With that being said, it's pretty cheap and the people were very friendly. I'll definitely be coming back. I got a special sandwich: Grilled chicken pesto parm sandwich. It was definitely unique and very filling considering it was $6.99. read more

Found this by accident. My husband and I were riding around and he noticed a bakery sign. I couldn't stop eating!everything homemade. Very friendly staff was giving away warm custard filled Philo thing. Sorry I don't know the name of it but it was delicious we got that a chocolate croissant and some other cheese and ham croissant the lack of a better word it was all terrific. I was looking for a quick dinner to pick up and take to my girlfriends mothers place. This place was close and had great reviews. I picked up three sandwiches and two soups. The staff (and I believe the owner?) were super helpful and service was really quick. I also was offered a sample of the custard pastry which was fantastic! Warm, sweet, velvety center surrounded by flakey pastry. All three of us thought the sandwiches were great. And the soups were delicious! That tomato bisque was so creamy and full of tomato flavor. Stopped by because I forgot my coffee at home this morning and this was on the way to work. I chose this place based off of seeing previous yelp reviews, which most were positive! They weren't wrong! The staff was very welcoming and helpful, even let me sample some pastries. Picked up my coffee, Easter bread, cheese and guava pastry, spanikopita, and some other pastries to share with the office. I do not know how on earth I haven't reviewed Manos because it's one of my favorite spots in Tampa. Manos is absolutely wonderful. Their Greek pastries are mind-blowing good...their bougatsa is basically crack and might be my favorite splurge food item ever. Their sandwiches, wraps, and flatbreads are delicious as well. Just ate lunch here and you gotta come try it. The restaurant is a simple, no frills experience with concrete floor and metal tables. Food is served on (as in sitting directly on) plastic plates. There were a few singles eating, a group of men outside playing backgammon and a group of women inside eating. The decor is ... well, basic and modern minimalist. If you want ambiance and ferns, this is not your place. If you happen to like food however ... After some decision wrenching, I ordered a feta steak wrap and my co-worker had an angus burger. Both were fresh and excellent. The feta was sharp and tangy and the steak in mine was perfectly cooked, juicy with a little pepper seasoning. Both served with a bag of chips and a napkin. Like I said, no frills people. The owner gave us a sample of the phyllo - custard dessert and damn it was fantastic! I'll definitely come back for lunch but also to buy bread. I had a Greek salad with chicken. It was fabulous. I was on a diet but my two friends were stunned by their Greek stuffed pockets of things I could not touch. The place was giving out samples of all kinds of things - sweet and savory - that looked fab and my friends gobbled up with pleasure. The price is right and it was fast. This is definately a treasure that could be missed if you blink. I found this on yelp under bakeries so I decided to try it out and OMG I am so glad I did. This is amazing little cafe on Drew St. I will even compare this so far to Frida's only on a smaller scale. The food is spot on perfect and tasty and huge for the price! The owner is sweet and the staff is very friendly. They are so accomdating to change up the sandwich if you have an allergy or special preference. I definately love the food and I am working my way through the menu. I am so glad that I tried it. read more

Can't believe this place exists - we tried it as a drive by - now it's a place we take every out of town guest! Perfect for breakfast, the pastries and breads are enough - but the sandwiches are amazing - eggs made perfectly - croissants worthy of Europe... And oh the bougasta- like crack. Spinach pies are great as is the assortment of unique cookies - those little sesame cookies - not too sweet, plain but so flavorful in their simplicity. Lunch is impressive too; coffee is legit. When you go here you have to get the hot custard pie with or without powdered sugar. It will be the highlight of your trip. I've had numerous salads and gyros from here and they have always tasted phenomenal. Everything is fresh and cooked while you wait. All of the pastries are to die for, but I haven't been as impressed with the cakes in the cold case. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed. read more

We stopped here before heading to a friends house for Christmas Eve lunch to pick up a hostess gift. We picked up some cookies, canollis, custard pie, and baklava. They gave us samples, which were amazing. They also were very friendly, and even put a handmade bow on the boxes to dress them up. Stopped in for the first time in hopes of finding a great Cuban sandwich. When I walked in I was greeted by a very friendly staff who was eager to answer any questions. However, I was seriously disappointed with my Cuban. There was one thin slice of ham, no salami and a generous portion of pork with a light BBQ sauce flavor to it, then topped with shredded mozzarella. Ugh! Not good.
