Outright worst place in Troy and that's saying a lot. Good service upon arrival. Quickly downhill from there. Got food cold after 30 minutes of ot sitting on the counter AS I AM WAITING. Told management my issue and there was zero things he did to rectify it. The other guy before him tried to microwave it. So I paid bout 16 for the food with a 25 percent tip up front to walk out with lukewarm microwaved food. Second bad experience with them in as many tries. Won't be a third. And if you read my Google reviews I have about 50 reviews. Only like 2 bad ones. So if I give you a bad review then it's VERY BAD experience. I literally tossed it out. read more

The food and our waiter was all good. However, I sipped a few gulps of water from my glass and noticed that my drink smelled like cigarette smoke. To make sure it wasn't all in my head I passed the drink around to my party and they all confirmed that it smelled like smoke. Then, I realized there was a black mark on the inside of the glass which was tobacco. I told the waiter when he brought the check and he took the glass away and apologized. I took the check up to the cashier, and when he asked how everything was I mentioned the dirty glass. His response was, "oh yes i heard about that. It must've been used as an ashtray. I'm so sorry, we threw the glass out!" No discount, no refund, nothing. Just an "I'm sorry" for serving a patron water in an ashtray. Needless to say I will never return. Update: The restaurant reached out to me and offered a consolation, the response is much appreciated so I updated my response. This past summer my wife and I, from Florida, took a road trip up north to visit friends and family, and stopped in Troy in the AM to 'check it out'. I clicked on my trusty Yelp app, saw this place pop up, Buffalo Chicken Omelet? Really? Quite simply put, it was the most memorable and favorite breakfast I ever had - (and I've had a lot of breakfasts, lol!) I sure wish I lived closer to eat there again. read more

When I went they were super busy and the service reflected that. Our waiter kept passing our table without taking our order, which was a little frustrating. The food was ok, pretty greasy. While visiting both sons attending RPI during Parent's Weekend, we stumbled on this wonderful local Jewel, Manory's in downtown Troy. Let me say our experience was a " triple crown" experience (a term often used from folks in our parts- Louisville): * Excellent service....... * Delicious Food......* Perfect Ambiance! As strangers in town, we knew right away this was THE spot where the "Locals" go for breakfast; while people watching of happy customers we then knew we were in the right place even before getting our meals! The coffee was hot & tasty, while our eggs were prepared just as ordered, along with warm toast that was amply buttered! Needless to say, when we come back to Troy this will be on our 'must do' list! I'd give 3.5 if I could. Breakfast was tasty, service was scattered. The blueberry pancakes were really good. My wife had Eggs Florentine. She was happy. Good diner coffee. Our waitress was cheery and well intended. But coffee refill took forever and twice she brought us orders meant for other tables. Manory's is a hidden gem- if you like local greasy spoon diners. They have a core menu of traditional American breakfast and lunch fare with some surprises (breakfast nachos, Cheese Stick Burger, or barbecue Benny anyone?). I am particularly fond of their breakfast sandwich- a monstrous creation with two eggs and plenty of meat on a local hard roll served with home fries for just 7.50! But the real winners on the Manory's menu are the shakes! My husband and I have tried several varieties and they have all been great.(A word of caution on the coffee though- it's thin and weak- a disappointment for a diner that grinds their own beans). read more

Stopped in for a quick lunch. They have revamped the inside and menu. The kids have taken over the family business and transformed it into a modern diner while keeping the classics alive. They are also in the process of opening a minibar (which may be open now). My wife and I eat lunch and breakfast here every chance we get. A cute diner destination for breakfast all day long! We came for a late brunch on Saturday and were seated right away. The table was sticky upon arrival but someone came to clean it up after we notified them. I got the vegetarian omelette and was surprised by how fast the service was. The food was good but nothing remarkable. The toast was small and slightly burnt, the potatoes were good but not flavored in a way that I could eat them without ketchup, and the omelette was pleasantly stuffed with veggies. I want to love this place, I have a long standing rule: No chain restaurants at all cost. And, I love a good dive. Decor wise, this place fits into the dive category; same furniture for the past god knows how many years, etc. and they claim to be the oldest restaurant in Troy. But the food is, bleh. Wa and I went here for the required Sunday morning hangover brunch and it has to be pretty bad when the food isn't even good enough or bad enough for that. Wa liked his, but we know Wa will eat anything; ask me about the time he ate the 3-week old sandwich out of my fridge. :) I went back today out of convenience sake and was equally unimpressed, plus, the place is filthy. I was the only person in there with three staff all discussing their sexual exploits. I think they should probably vacuum and discuss sex after hours or at least tell better stories. read more

I just couldn't decide so I went with a short stack with peanut butter on the side and a slice of ham. Nice sized, fluffy pancakes with melted peanut butter and fresh maple syrup-just what the doctor ordered. My boyfriend got the "Maddie" special-I forget the exact name but it's close to that. So good. I almost ordered it myself after one bite! A perfectly crisp, dense yet fluffy biscuit with a sausage patty and gravy on top. The gravy was BOMB- yes I brought that 90s classic back to describe the awesomeness of the gravy. I had to, nothing else would do. Just do it...I dare you. You will not be disappointed. The ambience of the restaurant is a little "Seinfeld" but I think that is what they are going for. They sell small bottles of the syrup-so we picked up a couple for gifts back home. read more

YAY! we love this place. it is everything you want out of a breakfast diner experience. it is loud and bustling and always filled with people at both the tables and the counter. there is a juke box to provide musical entertainment (and to give the kids something to do while waiting) they always have specials as well to spice things up. when we lived in troy we Loved that we could walk just a few blocks and be here. it is on the corner of 4th and congress so if you are driving remember the whole irritating troy one way street thing. best bet would be to come Down congress from above. the prices are also nice and cheap breakfast diner prices. story - once we were dining in a booth by the windows and there was a parade going on. a family of Very Country origin was perched on blanket in front of us. and then. right there, in full view of everyone, two pudgy girls climbed Under the blanket and proceeded to (what appeared to be at least) get it on. it was one of those things that you really just can't believe you are seeing. i diverted my daughter's attention to the parade but i don't think that my eye-size went back to normal for several hours. but don't count on That type of entertainment every time (yes, it IS troy so you may get lucky) read more

During my last visit to Manory's restaurant, I ate three Elvis pancakes and two milkshakes. This was the single greatest breakfast I have ever had. The Elvis pancakes are modeled after the King's lunch sandwich of choice, which consisted of a baguette stuffed with peanut butter, jelly, bananas, bacon, and enough butter to drown Paula Dean. These pancakes lift me higher, like the sweet song of a choir, they light my morning sky, and the only thing that can cool this burnin' love is a #thiccc Manory's milkshake. Taking this combo in excess will most likely kill me, probably on the toilet. read more

You can't go wrong if you decide to stop and have a meal at Manory's. It is one of the oldest restaurants in Troy, so it is a place you'd want to try as a historic visit, but I'm confident that once you try it you will keep coming back. The service is friendly and you will usually see one or both of the owners Jen and Lou working and welcoming all the customers. If Jen is there you will know it because you will hear her contagious laugh. I've been there for breakfast and lunch and have always enjoyed my meal. I enjoy the pancakes and eggs for breakfast including one of their cheesy omelettes. For lunch the biggie buffalo salad or a turkey sandwich or turkey club sandwich are always good choices. Manory's has a nice combo of traditional diner food and creative dishes for those who are a bit more adventurous (breakfast nachos and Christmas cookie pancakes for instance). I ended up getting a pulled pork omelet that was decent but kind of plain tasting and I didn't taste much eggnog at all in the eggnog latte. Wow! I've been wanting to try this place for some time, and finally convinced my fiance to take me over the weekend. Went for a late breakfast and was very impressed. They have a HUGE selection of options - amazing (and amazingly fattening) sounding pancakes, waffles, breakfast sandwiches, and interesting specials! I ended up just getting a combo consisting of a Belgian waffle sprinkled with powdered sugar, eggs, sausage, and toast. The waffle was different than any I had had previously at a diner, it seemed much more dense and filling, and oh so yummy. The place is a little bit dated, and I wasn't really a fan of the overly casual atmosphere (employees yelling at eachother from across the restaurant), but I'm sure that's a draw to some people. Our review mentioned how offering real maple syrup would be a great option, and within a week of this review being published on the blog, Manory's responded by beginning to offer real maple syrup to customers! UPDATE: The awful manager just responded to me and tried to make this about race!! This has nothing to do with race. It's people like Anthony that ruin this world by stoking the embers of hate. You are an awful manager who has no idea about restaurant logistics or customer service. Read through the reviews... everyone complains about your service. I never complained about your food, I complimented the server that DID check on us and communicate to us. It took 20 minutes just to take our order and put it through the device. I asked for the check right when our food came and I paid while we were STILL EATING so we could get out as quickly as we could to get on the road. Yeah, thanks for the tip! It will be better to go to Starbucks next time or to find a real diner. We were visiting RPI with my son and thought visiting the oldest restaurant in Troy would be nice. The place was charming, there was a wait when we got there but were seated quickly. However things went downhill fast after that. The service was horrible!!!! We waited over an hour to get an omelet, chicken wrap and eggs Benedict. The server did not check on us and when he did he said they were backed up and would check on our order. He never checked. Another server did and kept us informed. When I went to pay the bill I spoke to the manager and he couldn't be bothered. He said he would tell the server that I would not tip him. This is the first time I have not tipped in a restaurant ever! The only redeeming quality was the food was above average and the female server did her best to help us.
