Are you looking for a cozy Italian food spot or Greek food spot? Or would you like them both? Manoli Canoli has you covered! My mom and I came here with family friends whom we've known forever and have enjoyed this spot for a long time. They are adorable and always order the same thing-- to start we all enjoyed the pita and tzatziki and the gorgeous super salad! My dear family friends ordered their favorite entrees-- lamb chops and spanakopita! My mom and I went for the Italian side with pasta! I had the mushroom ravioli and my mom had the sausage and peppers! They both were delicious. Everyone was very pleased with all the dishes! We saved a tad bit of room for dessert. Definitely check out the brownie and icecream and the baklava! I will definitely be back to try more dishes! Happy eating!! Ps. Trust me, the portions are quite generous-- you may go home with a doggie bag!

This place was wonderful. It's a combination Italian and Greek place so you have plenty of options for food, depending on your party's taste. My friends and I got different pastas. The pasta bolognese was fantastic and I had enough for leftovers. The bread they provided was a bit dry though and I almost always wished for a more even combination between pasta and sauce but the sauce was wonderful. They even have frozen food to take home. The service was quick and you can tell they appreciate their customers. It's a small place but so good. I could comfortably hear my party. I can't wait to go back here again and try the Greek food next time!

I was pleasantly surprised they had parking in the back with a back entrance. Small and cozy place. Generous portions and very tasty. I wish they had more parsley on my chicken Marsala but that's just me being extra picky. Service was attentive but not overly so. I did not make a reservation but it was off peak hours on a weekday. I was certain I would take home leftovers but it was so scrumptious I ate the whole plate of chicken. Oh and chicken was tender and not dry or chewy. Would definitely return and recommend!! It's nothing fancy or trendy, but it's like comfort Italian and that's really sometimes all you want and need!

We booked this homey and cozy Italian/Mediterranean restaurant for our rehearsal dinner (close to the church). Menu has traditional Italian fare (pasta, pizza) as well as Greek items (kebabs, moussaka, Greek salad, ect). They also have gluten-free and vegan options. The complimentary bread was warm baguettes with olive oil for dipping. Was very good. I ordered the shrimp Aegean. It was a huge portion of noodles with marinara sauce, perfectly cooked large shrimp, feta and sun-dried tomatoes. The sauce while rich and flavorful was not too heavy. Everyone enjoyed their food (plenty of leftovers). Prices are very reasonable and service is very friendly and warm.

It's always the quiet ones that blow you away the most! Like most people, I've passed right by this unassuming place for years without giving it a second thought. Tonight though, I decided to give it a try. Probably some of the best Italian cuisine in the entire region! I ordered a salad with homemade Italian dressing, an antipasti plate, and the Shrimp & Mushroom Piccata. Everything was divine! The dressing was vibrant and bursting with flavor! The house-made mozzarella was great, and my main was superb. Looks like they do a mean to-go and frozen food business as well. Def an underrated spot for sure!

Lots to like at Smyrna!…read more I highly recommend the 3-course express lunch menu, which includes a starter and dessert. At $24 as of this writing, this is a great value! Decorated in clean blue and white colors, Smyrna has an appealing feel. Smyrna also has a rear patio open during good weather. We were started out with very decent complimentary warm pita bread. For my first (starter) course, I ordered the chicken avgolemono soup. While the soup was packed with tender chicken, I was disappointed that the soup didn't really have much of a tart, lemony flavor. It actually was bland. But what more than made up for the avgolemono soup was the beef Keftdedes I chose for my second course. This dish came with absolutely the best tomato-based sauce I've ever had anywhere anytime! Delicious and fabulous!! The beef keftdedes were plump ground beef patties served over little squares of pita bread and topped with the tomato sauce and also a yogurt sauce. JP ordered the Imam Bayildi, which was good. It came with roasted eggplant, diced tomatoes and diced onions. For our third course (dessert), I ordered the Revani, which was a moist dense semolina cake topped with ice cream and chocolate shavings. Outstanding flavor and texture. Perfect! JP ordered the walnut baklava which was excellent. Service was friendly and fine. Other than the avgolemono soup, this was indeed a five star dining experience.

I visited on a Sunday evening with some friends who hosted me in Alexandria when my flight out of DCA was postponed. I would recommend bringing a couple of friends here to dine, ordering a lot of items and sharing. We started with a couple of spreads, and the Baba Ghannush was my favorite. I also had a Greek salad, and we had some chicken souvlaki. The entrees are shareable and a large portion, and my friend also got an order of soup for the next day, since we knew we'd be snowed in. The service was wonderful, and the inside of the restaurant itself is gorgeous. One word of advice- do NOT sit near the door on a cold day because that wind kept coming into the building. The happy hour and lunch deals are excellent, so if you're nearby, it is worth stopping in.

Food was really good, I wasn't blown away but I did like it, it was fresh and presented very beautifully, the eggplant mezze was good and the poached apricot dessert was also quite good-needed more apricot for the amount of yogurt though. The service was excellent, everyone who works there was very pleasant, and they did separate the checks for our group which was really convenient. I would definitely go back. Downsides are it's a bit pricey and the parking is a challenge.

The food was also amazing I had the Arni youvetsi and that is a healthy lamb shank portion paired with creamy orzo ! The baklava was also really good for dessert. I appreciated the selection of Greek wine available and the waiter was able to select one that matched my taste! I will def recommend!
