Love love love the menu choices here! I grew up fortunate to have Italian food prepared by the women and some men in my family. Biscotti Restaurant is as close to home-cooking as I have ever had in a restaurant. The staff is accommodating and attentive. The prices are remarkably moderate for the quality and abundance on each plate. I have tried their marinara, pistachio cream sauce and light cream sauce -- fantastic. The mushroom ravioli is housemade and fantastic. The ricotta gnocchi is heavenly. The chicken and sausage entree made my husband very happy. And we salute the tiramisu chef - superb!

It was time to check this off the restaurants to try list! My husband and I have been daydreaming of another trip to Italy so though a visit to Biscotti might do the trick. We were seated immediately at a table for 2 and were brought a basket of bread and olive spread. We ordered a half a carafe of Chianti and an order of arancini. We wished it was served with a tad more sauce. I ordered the ravioli di funghi with the most delicious pistachio cream sauce. My husband had a veal entree with a side of pasta with marinara. Next time we will try the tiramisu. Located in a strip center with plenty of parking!

We hadn't been here for a couple years so we decided to see how well the place was faring. We liked it the last time and did so again this time too. Price with generous tip was $100.00. We overordered so most should expect to pay $50-$60 for lunch for two IMO. Food - Our meal consisted of four appetizers, bottled Pelligrino water and two desserts. Leftovers were sufficient for another meal at home for two. Creamy lobster bisque was hot and very "lobstery" with obvious lobster flakes (not chunks). Fried calamari with tomato sauce was hot, crunchy, and chewy. Canelli beans with mushrooms was very filling and so tasty that it was compelling to dip basket bread. Arancini (Sicilian rice balls) are a unique menu item so we ordered them (3 balls) even though we already had plenty to eat. Glad we did. These were a highlight and would definitely order again. Dessert was fancy cannoli (see photo) and a light limoncello tort. We shared the desserts to completion even though we were more than full. Excellent! Generally, menu items are recognizable Italian American fare, not experimental. Nice! BTW - we nearly forgot to take photos so most dishes were patyly eaten before we snapped a few images. Service - We were the only customers at lunch, so service was attentive and prompt. Ambiance - A custom painted wall mural, wine bottles, and classic Italian American restaurant music all contributed to the kind of ambiance expected of a cozy neighborhood Italian joint. This place is a step up from most other Italian places as it sports white tablecloths without the pretense and long waits common at high-end Italian places. So dining here it was delightful. Restrooms were accessible, well supplied and clean. There was ample and accessible parking right in front of the restaurant entrance. Enjoy!

    Agnolotti Rosa - wow!

Wow! This hidden gem blows all area Italian restaurants out of the water. In fact, it beats out Italian restaurants too- we recently returned from a trip! Amazing food, great service and super prices. Give yourself a treat and head over. You will mot be disappointed.

    Pollo Panna Cotta

Fantastic food. The Anglotti was perfect and 10/10 would get again as an amazing vegetarian dish. The pollo Panna Cotta tasted great and the portion size made up for the pasta side dish. Which brings me to the pasta that comes as side for the chicken breast. It's spaghetti with tomato sauce and it's unimpressive. I would've preferred a choice of pasta side side or a different sauce. The addition of the bread that they include in takeout orders and the olive tapanade is what changed this from a 4 star to a 5 star review. TL;DR: great for vegetarians and anybody wanting Italian food. Get the vegetable side with the entree. Pollo was perfect but I would probably get the salmon next time.

The staff were very nice and kind, but the food was not good. I ordered the RAVIOLI DI FUNGHI and it was not cooked, it was hard and raw, also very salty. It didn't taste fresh nor was it hot. My boyfriend got the FETTUCCINE MARE E TERRA it was decent but was still off and noodles were not cooked right. The portion size was very small for the amount of money we paid. Over all the food was just not good. Would not recommend coming to this restaurant.

It's a beautiful quiet place with amazing food. Everything I had here was so tasty and cooked right. Especially all the seafood. It's so easy to over cook mussels and calamari, these guys did not do that. This place is nice and clean with good customer service.

They got rid of the early bird dinner which was the main reason to go here. Without that deal, the food is really overpriced.

This unassuming restaurant in a rather seedy strip of Rockville Pike exceeds expectations at all levels. The dining room is neutral and simple, relaxing and quiet. The service is fantastic. Honestly, there are not too many professional waiters left in the world but, the ones that remain, all work at Il Pizzico. Service is impeccable. Danny was perfect. The owner, Enzo, is charming and enlightened with his menu. When we mentioned how much we liked ramps (which Enzo had picked himself out in the woods, by the way), he went and got some pickled ramps he made for himself only (not on the menu) so we could taste. Charming. Inspired. Elegant even! My main course was ramp risotto with scallops. OMG great! The risotto was luxurious and complex and filling and surprising - all at once! I hate to throw out the word "perfect" again but this dish was in fact perfect! The rice was perfectly cooked and satisfyingly crispy at its center. Honestly, I got lost in this dish. There were other things in the risotto - onions? Scallops for sure. Green shavings (what the heck was that)? Who cares! The risotto was that good. My dish was so good that it could have been ONLY risotto and I would have loved it! The risotto was so good, in fact, that I ordered creme brulee for dessert and I don't even like creme brulee. I know this doesn't make sense and I know it doesn't paint me in a good light - but it's true. I wanted the outstanding dining experience to continue so I ordered something that I usually overlook in order to keep it going. Ok, so I do not need to say this. BUT I WILL. I highly recommend Il Pizzico. Full stop!

Having traveled and dined across the globe, I did not expect homemade pasta, fresh espresso, and Neapolitan style pizza to be in Rockville MD. If you live within an hour drive, just take the trip and have lunch or dinner here. Try the espresso martini! I shared a cheese pizza with my daughter, my mother had the chicken piccata, my cousin the gnocchi, my father the chicken parm, my cousin had a caprese salad and the further seats I couldn't see. We all shared a few orders of the calamari. EVERYONE raved about how delicious their food was. I agree. Probably the best piccata I've tasted. The pizza was excellent. The tiramisu great. The pistachio gelato was perfect. I sure wish they were closer to Florida!! So good.

The biggest hit for me was the suppli appetizer. These are absolutely delicious and vegetarian friendly! Similar to arancini but somehow even more delicious. These are a must-order. I had the pasta alla vongole and a bite of my husband's chicken parmigiana. Our friend had mushroom ravioli that she loved, but I didn't try as I don't care for mushrooms. I've been on a clams and garlic kick lately for some reason and the vongole comes with these and bonus bacon. I would have preferred the bacon a tad crispier, but that is personal preference. I'd give this dish 4* - I would get it again but after trying some others. From the one bite the chicken parmigiana was a 5*. Their marinara is very good and the linguine in both our dishes tastes freshly made. We all split the chocolate temptation dessert and I ate more of it than I expected to, it is chocolate mousse adjacent cake with ganache frosting, very light, perfectly sweet. Often I find chocolate desserts too much after a big meal but this one wasn't heavy at all. 5* My friend ordered sangria which she thought was more like a wine cooler; too sweet for her French oenophile sensibilities and a bit lighter than a sangria usually is, but I am a pleb who loves sweet drinks and I would order it. If you are a sangria purist you might not care for it. Hubs enjoyed his old fashioned but said it needed a dash more bitters to be perfect. I was driving so enjoyed a non-dirty Shirley. Prices to me are reasonable for quality and portion size; our tab ended up high because of the appetizer, drinks and dessert but if you just had pizza or pasta with soda it would be pretty affordable. I will be back to get more suppli and try other dishes!

I'm not gonna lie, despite following the GPS, it was tricky for me to find where the restaurant was actually located. The GPS led me through the back way, so there were unmarked roads and no signage identifying Salt & Vine from the back. The easiest way to find the big white house of the restaurant is off of Olney Sandy Spring Road. There's a few parking spots available in the front and additional parking in the back. We had a private room upstairs, almost in a nook. The room was a little dingy and was a bit dated - the mirrors were tarnished and could've used some Windex - but the dining room table was set and it gave us the intimate ambiance that we were looking for. Service was excellent! Five stars for service! Ty was our primary server. He checked on us frequently to see if we needed anything, checked to see how the food was, and still gave us the space to enjoy our private lunch together. Any time a new guest arrived, Ty promptly greeted the newcomer and was ready to get them a drink. When the guest of honor arrived, he gave his congratulatory wishes and really set the tone for a wonderful luncheon at Salt & Vine. Service was super accommodating and pacing between the dishes was done really well. We never felt rushed and also never felt like we were sitting around wondering when the next dish would come. All the dishes served had the necessary serving utensils for family-style. Service was upscale in the sense that they changed out plates and silverware in between courses. Service was also super seamless - another staff member was there to assist to clear plates, bring out food and dishes, and do drink refills - and everyone did their job efficiently and effectively. Leftovers were also packed up by the staff and neatly packaged to take home. We had a family-style meal consisting of the arancini, grandma's meatballs, house salad, wood-oven roasted oysters, fusilli bolognese, artichoke and crab frittata, fresh berries and whipped cream, and cannolis. Each dish had beautiful presentation. The standout dish (and rightfully so) was the fusilli bolognese, which Ty said was by far the most popular dish on the menu. The fusilli bolognese was delicious! The fusilli bolognese was perfectly balanced between the meat, creamy tomato sauce, and cheese. I don't like pasta that's swimming in sauce or that has chunks of meat that's dry or rolls right out of the sauce - this fusilli bolognese does everything right and I'm here for it. The arancini was light and super cheesy on the inside. It's almost like a fried mozzarella ball. The meatball was served with a lovely dollop of herbed ricotta. Both the arancini and meatball were served in a tasty marina sauce and I would say they were good serving sizings for the starters. The house salad was fresh and nicely dressed, but pretty basic - some mixed greens, little tomatoes, pickled red onions, and croutons, plus a balsamic dressing. The artichoke and crab frittata was topped with mixed greens that almost felt like another salad. Everything was portioned out already, making it easy to serve and share the meal together. I do like a little more stuff in my frittata (peppers, onions, cheese, etc. aka the works), but I did appreciate that you can taste the crab and artichokes in the dish. For dessert, we had the fresh berries with whipped cream and a platter of cannolis. We loved the berries and whipped cream - so fresh and lightly sweet and airy. You get a two-for-one with the cannolis - you get chocolate chips on one side and pistachios on the other end - it's the best of both worlds! These were classic cannolis done really well. I highly recommend Salt & Vine for any event you may have. They hosted our luncheon expertly. And the fusilli bolognese- get it!
