The pre-work and coordination they gave went the extra mile, doing multiple quality confirmations for me, sending pics, etc. and then taking on a difficult job made harder by the weight of the safe being 1000 lbs+ and needing to go on a pad, and be fine tuned in its location. Where do I start with Manny's. I had purchased a very large and heavy safe from a local retailer. 1034 pounds heavy. My son, the salesperson and I inspected the safe and said it looked good. I contact Manny's on the phone and talked to the nicest young lady who set everything up. On the delivery day, I got a call from the crew, they were at the store and had found a small paint imperfection on the safe and was worried about it. They took a picture and sent it to me for my approval. What moving company does that? I accepted the safe and the guys said they were on their way. They showed up and this is where the good stuff begins. The sized up the job and had the safe and a way into the house chosen within minutes. They moved this monster like it was a toy. Down a hill to the walk out basement, over the sliding glass door sill and into the basement. They moved it in to the room I wanted stood it up and set it EXACTLY where I wanted it. They even showed me how to rock it to get hockey pucks under it for air flow. The move took less than 15 minutes once they backed into the driveway. I was absolutely blown away. They were the nicest gentlemen ever. They were extremely professional, great to work with, very understanding and we all had several GREAT laughs. They respected my safe, my yard, my house, everything. If I could own a company, I would want it to be one like Manny's. This company was tops from start to finish. I must start out by saying I originally was referred to a different piano moving company by a friend of mine but after calling several times over the last two weeks and not hearing back (not sure how they stay business...maybe they aren't) I decided to keep looking. I stumbled upon Manny's and was very impressed on how long they've been in the Piano Moving game but what really sealed the deal was finding out they move pianos for the MacPhail Center, St. Olaf and Schmitt Music. If those institutions trust them I was sure I could too. I called, actually spoke to a person who gave me a very reasonable quote and I set it up (so confident, I didn't even call anyone else). Long story short, or, actually short story long because I don't have much more to say about the experience it was such a breeze. Two guys came in, knew exactly what to do, even commented on the style and model of my old Steinway (really knew their pianos) wrapped up everything and gingerly moved my piano across town to my house. It was much more painless than I thought it would be and they guys couldn't have been more professional or nicer. Hopefully I won't have to use them anytime soon but if I needed to I would use them again in a heartbeat. read more

The teams that show up to move the pianos are polite and professional, take great care with the floors they are moving pianos from / too, and the price is fair. I actually ended up calling these guys because another firm that I had set up so work with wouldn't come out to my home to get my piano without charging me significantly more than was quoted; they said "you'll never get Manny's or someone else to do it," so I called Manny's and they were too happy to take my business. My run in with them today was enough to know I'll never call them to move any of our family pianos or anything else. I went to pick up an item at an auction that also had a piano on it. When we get there I pull into a spot so I'm out of everyone's way to pick up the small wicker tea cart we'd bought. Literally an open the back and toss it in sized item. I don't even have time to put it in park before a guy is yelling at my passenger window that I "HAVE TO MOVE" because HE needs it to load the piano. Extremely rude, no mask, no please or thank you, just that I HAVE to move right now or HIS world was going to implode. All for about 4 yards of space to back into. I moved back out onto the dead end street that someone else was also waiting on so he could have his precious space. He then backed in the truck and proceeded to block EVERYONE else in. The people in the driveway couldn't get out, the people on the dead end street got trapped in, the Mail Man had to park his truck on the other side (and he'd seen him waiting so it was not a surprise) and then had to walk everything -including packages - to the houses on the rest of the street. He could have very easily left the truck where it was along the side of the street, not blocked it, and really had more room, too. But for some reason he just had to have that little spot IN the driveway that my little jeep barely fit in and take up the whole street, and block 6 other people and a mail truck instead. And be rude on top of it and expect two women he didn't know to just obey his yelled commands through their car window. They will now go on list of who not to call when I need to move my Dad's 3 antique Baby Grands. You might want to think of how your behavior looks when your name and number are printed on the side of your truck. read more

Courteous and professional. There were some communication gaps. I was told the entire move would occur between 7am and noon. At 10:45am I was told they would arrive at the pick up location between 11:30 and noon. Ultimately, though, my piano was in place by 12:20 so it wasn't much later than planned. I suggest asking for a phone call ahead of time if you can't be available all day and consider the quoted times approximations. read more

I was disappointed with Manny's Piano Moving. They arrived at 7am, hours earlier than I was told they would come over. They did not even try to be quiet, even though I said I had kids sleeping upstairs. When I made the appointment, I explained that the piano may have to be taken apart to get it out of the house, yet they arrived unprepared and had to borrow our tools. Lastly, I noticed later in the day, that they had broken off the door handle while taking the piano out of the house and did not even bother to tell us. So, on top of the noise, borrowing our tools and expense, we have to replace an external door handle on our house. read more
