Great place for breakfast in Carol Stream! The staff was welcoming. The menu offers a variety of options including avocado toast, oatmeal, American breakfast plate, pancakes, crepes, French toasts, waffles, chilaquiles, omelets, skillets, benedicts, and sandwiches. French vanilla cappuccino $3 - Probably made from power, but delicious. Banana Nutella crepe $10 - Crepes were light and fluffy and banana slices were fresh. BYO Skillet $14 - Well seasoned skillet. The monogrammed M powder sugar on the pancakes was a nice touch. .|\---/| | @_@ | ..\_^_/..2024

We loved this place for breakfast so much we went 3 mornings in a row! Good coffee, amazing food, and very friendly staff. Loved the biscuits and gravy (had a little bit of a spicy kick, SO GOOD!)

Friendly staff, wonderful home cooking at reasonable prices in a cute coffee shop. Was in the Winfield area and stumbled along this gem. My husband and I were looking for something quick. I had the traditional chilaquiles with green sauce and Joe had the avocado toast. Both were really tasty options and would definitely go back to try their soup and other sandwiches. While we were there at least 5-7 regulars came in just for their chicken and rice soup or their Cuban sandwich.

I went here about 10:15 for a late breakfast. Due to the middling time there was no one else in the cafe. I came out here to have a Mexican style breakfast, most likely the chilaquiles, but when I saw the description for the chori-papas skillet, I went with that. Unfortunately, when my breakfast was served, I was confused by the eggs on top. I had ordered over medium, and what I got was a thin layer of scrambled eggs, which looked more like a frittata. My server apologized and was getting ready to whisk it away, but I told her not to bother, scrambled eggs would be good enough. As it turned out though, these were not my idea of scrambled eggs. I prefer them nice and fluffy, and they make them more like a frittata, or omelette half. Okay, so enough about that snafu. She had kindly and quickly offered to fix it, but I declined. That's on me. The potatoes, peppers, tomatoes and chorizo were strikingly fresh, vibrant looking colors and cooked to perfection! The pancakes were not only attractive, they were very tasty. This cafe is not near my home, so who knows when I'll be there again. But if I did live nearby, I'd make this a regular stop. There is a nice variety of food offerings on their menu to try out. The people are nice, and the chef/cook does a wonderful job, using fresh ingredients.

Delicious fresh breakfast served by a very friendly staff. We had the avocado toast and chilaquiles Verda. They were a treat. Can't wait to return and try more.

This hidden gem in a strip mall is AMAZING! We love Chilaquiles and hav tried at several restaurants and hands down Manny makes the BEST. Also the fruit filled crepes are to die for. Really everything is great but we are creatures of habit and always crave his chilaquiles. Make sure you order the Southern style.

Excellent food, crowded atmosphere..nice servers. Prices have escalated lately, so no longer big breakfasts for a few bucks.

I'm writing to share my recent experience dining, and unfortunately, it was one of the most…read moredisappointing restaurant visits I've had in a long time. First, the food lacked any seasoning -- no salt, no flavor, no care in preparation. The food should at least be properly cooked and seasoned. Secondly, my mother has a caffeine allergy. She politely asked for a to-go coffee cup with hot water and lemon so she wouldn't risk contamination from an unwashed cup that previously held coffee. Instead of accommodating a simple allergy-related request, your staff (with management approval) refused unless she paid for the cup. That level of insensitivity toward an allergy is unacceptable. On top of that, I ordered a cup of hot water with lemon and honey and was charged $3 -- the same as if I had ordered tea, even though I didn't ask for a tea bag. Charging customers full price for a basic cup of hot water and two lemon slices is unreasonable and frankly petty. I could understand a small charge for honey, but $3 is excessive. I obviously asked for the tea bag at this point. It's clear that more effort is being put into pushing sales of alcohol, ice cream, and coffee flights than into serving quality food or listening to patrons' needs. If more attention were given to the basics -- good food and decent managerial service (the server was at minimum okay)-- you wouldn't have to nickel-and-dime customers for hot water or disregard allergy concerns. I will not be returning, and I plan to share this experience publicly so others are aware.

My favorite brunch place in the area. Everything is so well done and very cute. Love the vibes!read more

What a sublime little oasis of Jollity, in this topsy-turvy graceless world!…read more My Bride and I, having just exited CDH from nasty Medical follow-ups, decided to take an alternate route home, it being a beautiful sunny late February day. We saw the retro sign, and dove into the parking lot. An excellent experience. This indeed is a "Family Owned Restaurant" - the kind you seldom see anymore. You know... the kind where the Owner greets you at the door, the staff is friendly and glad you came, the cooks 'on the Line' in back are well dressed and smiling, and everyone seems to be working toward making their Guests welcome and well-fed. God, I miss that culture! We ordered a couple items from their well-rounded Menu. Both were delightful. I had a Mexican Omelette - the best I've had since 2018, when my local Diner in Lisle closed. Today's Omelette was HOT (temperature-wise), with some Jalapeños that themselves carried some (just right!) spiciness to 'em. The Staff was very pleasant, chatted with us a bit, and certainly made us feel welcomed. When we left, carrying some fresh Pie for later, my Bride and I both simultaneously agreed- from now on, after a bout of Poking, Prodding and Snipping at Northwestern Hospital, we'll be stopping at Seven Dwarfs for dome rejuvenation. If they were located in Lisle, I'd visit a few times a week!! A wonderful Restaurant, well done!

It has been around since the 1950's, and the father figure has worked here 49 years! On the wall behind the cashier are photos of regular customers and celebrities who love Seven Dwarfs, including John Belushi who once worked here! You get a large menu with so many choices! My hubby chuckled when I order the corned beef on hash browns skillet because he wanted the same thing! The serving was large; I had to take half of mine home. The staff checks on you like your family. They walk around the restaurant with the confidence that their customers are happy eating the delicious food. No rush to get you out and vacate your table, like Egglectic's and Egg Harbor's MO. And no noisy latest pop or rap music playing loudly. We had a very pleasant Sunday brunch "date."
