The waitress was quick to our table and asked if we wanted drinks. I ordered a martini. My wife a white wine. Drinks came quickly and the waitress pressed us to order. I told her that we'd like a few minutes to relax and that we're not in a hurry. The waitress returned a few minutes later asking us if we'd like to order. I grumbled something about not in a hurry but ordered a very good shrimp cocktail. I've had them before and they are excellent. So was this one. As I ordered the app the waitress pressed us to place the order for the rest of the dinner which we decided to do but reminding her that there's no rush. My wife ordered the chicken piccata and I the steak frittes. The chicken was mostly tasteless which it can be and the steak was ok. The fries were great. I also ordered another martini because I figured I'd be done with the first by the time the shrimp came. I also told her that the martini was a short fill. The shrimp came quickly as did the martini. Good service in this instance. As I was taking the last bite of shrimp cocktail our main course was brought to the table. I didn't even finish the shrimp and heres the rest of our food. We accepted the food and I told the waitress we weren't in a hurry. She just laughed and said the kitchen is very fast. People complain about slow service. We get it. Rarely have I read about service too fast. This is the case. This was like fast food. My wife's plate was removed before I was half done with my steak. Clearly this restaurant on this night wanted to turn as many tables as possible and we were the victims. We probably won't go back. We'll stick with Suzette's down the street.

Though if you like goat cheese, it looked delectable, perfectly cooked. It's more like a small fried goat cheese patty (almost like a mozzarella stick). The risotto was well cooked, but nothing particularly memorable in terms of flavor or components (bacon, mushroom, pesto, parmesan butter). The cassoulet was bursting with flavor. They offer both a small and larger portion. The small is really just a few bites of duck, so if you're looking for something more filling, definitely go with the larger size, which feels closer to a standard entrée. You can omit the panko breadcrumbs to make it gluten free. The guava sorbet was a refreshing way to end the meal, served as a trio of scoops and a cookie (not GF). Portion sizes overall are just okay, as you're unlikely to have leftovers. Unless you order apps, an entrée, and dessert, you may not leave completely full. Drink-wise, they have cocktails, beers, one cider on tap (GF), and wine options. The Mint Julep (bourbon based) was strong, simple, and surprisingly tasty. Service was fine overall, though one gentleman stood out for being especially attentive and friendly (wish we caught his name). Pricing didn't quite match the quality, but would be open to return in future to try out other dishes.

Such as on rule, 302 asks for no ball playing on the patio, for understandable reasons. Yet, one kid had a soccer ball, another a beach ball and another a softball. All were flying around the patio, smashing into people and things. Parents; teach your kids some common sense manners and respect for others.

I do kind of wish that I had looked over the food menu though because some of the last plates I saw being served for the night looked pretty good. Both the server and our friend did a great job of checking in throughout the night with our party and the others. This was the same night as the Pride Celebration in Aurora that was literally just outside on Stolp Ave but it wasn't very busy for a while but a good amount of people trickled in for a nightcap after the show at the Paramount let out. The 2 drinks I had were really good. The first one was the featured cocktail: Naughty Nellie's Nectar which was a great Tiki-esque drink with spiced rum and bitters mixed with various fruit juices including passion fruit, guava, pineapple, and lime. It was right up my alley so I was a little sad when I went for a second one and the bartender said that they had run out of some of the ingredients but that he would make me the other drink on the menu that's similar, the Twilight Tixi. The service is always wonderful, tonight Poncho was working and he always remembers my drink and makes my friends feel welcome. If you haven't been before the ambiance is really great. I challenged you go to in and find a new bad you haven't heard of, or count all the ones you recognize in the decor. I also really love the Arthouse Salad
