Hands down BEST bakery in town!!…read more Everything is made fresh from scratch. All natural ingredients. The flavors and textures are the best that baked food can ever present. Their croissants and the flavors are all so delicious, light, airy and flaky. They savory pastries are the best!! Their brownies, OMG heat it up in the microwave for like 8-10 seconds. Serve it with sherbet... melts in your mouth, rich and delicious!! Absolutely stunning!! Seasonal baked items are great too. Arrive early as the options sell out quick. Sometimes they even close early. Yes, the queue is totally worth it, trust me! They are closed Sunday through Tuesday and for a few of weeks during new years. My family and I are obsessed with this bakery and we always try to visit it every time we visit Ireland, and it's disappointing when they are closed for the holidays lol that's how good they are. Side comparison: people arguably think Bread 41 is the best in town and that bakery is amazing too. But I believe because of the location of this bakery, they haven't tried this bakery yet to give that trophy name to. At least that's my Personal opinion lol

You know that saying, "You get what you pay for?" Insert me pointing at this place here. This was…read moreour third and final Donut Dawdle stop, and wouldn't you know it was a fail? We passed by the Boomerang Donuts display on our walk up and back down Grafton Street, before our breakfast stop. We had agreed to get our final three donuts here, based on the pretty-looking donuts and the interesting-sounding flavors. The three donuts from Boomerang were the cheapest of the three stops. That should have tipped us off to something, but at this point, we were still oblivious. I went with the Bueno Kinder, my husband got the Boston Creme, and we decided to share the Salted Caramel. Box in hand, we crossed the street into St. Stephen's Green, hunkering down at a bench near one of the bodies of water. The donuts weren't worth the money we paid for them. They weren't even donuts, in the technical sense. The dough was way more dense than any respectable donut should ever be - all three had the consistency of an overly dry cake. The Bueno Kinder had no flavor to speak of, and I found myself separating the "icing" from the dough, creating a pile that would eventually find its way into the hungry gullets of the birds brazenly walking towards us as we tried to eat the donuts we'd just paid for. My husband's Boston Creme had a pathetic squirt of some kind of filling in the middle - he said it didn't taste anything like a true Boston cream, and he had to work through more than half the donut to even find the filling. By the time I got done deconstructing my first donut, I had no desire to even try with the Salted Caramel. My husband, ever the trooper, took a bite then promptly tapped. I took what I could from the base of that donut, adding it to my growing pile of dry crumbs to dole out to the birds, before standing up and risking my eyes to fling the crumbs at the mass of birds. (Note - I don't typically feed the wildlife, and honestly wouldn't have if my husband hadn't suggested it. I think it was a joke when he first mentioned it, but it blossomed into a real "let's do this" thing by the time we admitted the donuts were not meant to be eaten by humans.) I'd avoid Boomerang Donuts like I'd avoid gas station sushi. Just don't do it.

Later in the day we walked by this place and the mystery was solved! The donuts in the window looked so unique and delicious that we had too try them. It was hard to pick what we wanted because everything looked so good. We ended up getting the strawberries and cream, banofee, and apples and cinnamon. The strawberries and cream was not very good. The topping fell off when you ate it and it tasted like cough syrup. The apples and cinnamon and banofee were both good. They were very big yeast donuts that had filling, but not very much filling. They definitely needed more because only a couple of bites had filling. I liked them and would get them again!

There were no tables available at the Whitefriar and the host told me that they also owned Bow Lane and that I should give them a try. I was a little confused when I walked in because it looked like a bar to me and I hovered in there for a bit an no one acknowledged my presence. Since I was being ignored, I started walking around inside and found a nook on the far side of the bar is where a hostess was for the restaurant part of the bar. I was promptly acknowledged and seated. It was pretty warm inside the place, too cozy for me. I was impressed with the restaurant portion of the place as it had nice décor, nice seating arrangements and cool ceiling tile. I started off with a beer (not Guinness since I knew I would be visiting the Long Hall immediately after) and was recommended a Clever Man Attractor Beer. It was crisp, clean, refreshing, but with no bite and little character. I ordered a medium ribeye steak which was cooked perfectly. For some reason though, it did not taste like a ribeye to me. I saw that all beef is of Irish origin but just tasted different than what I'm used to in the states. The dish came with fries (chips) and I ordered a unique side dish called goat cheese croquettes which were goat cheese and mashed potatoes rolled-up and fried. I would recommend that you try them. The service was pretty good in the restaurant, friendly and attentive. I'm not sure what happened on the bar side. The food was OK, the restaurant was too warm and the décor was nice. 3 stars!

I went with that and ordered a Bloody Mary which was quite spicy but otherwise pretty delicious. The service was very good. Our server, Antonio, was kind and accommodating. For the next round I asked for a mimosa but was told they aren't included in the bottomless brunch. Instead I was offered a "bow lane fizz" made with melon, apple, and Prosecco. I couldn't help feeling confused and aggravated that the arguably most popular brunch cocktail, a mimosas, wasn't included in their bottomless boozy brunch. Especially considering they were happy to serve me Prosecco, as long as it was mixed with apple and melon instead of orange juice. For 25 euros I expected more. Ordered the eggs benedict with ham. The dish was just okay. Would have benefitted from more hollandaise sauce and less spinach. My last comment is that my party arrived at 12:30 pm on a Saturday and we were seated in corner booth. The restaurant was mostly empty during our time there, however they were blasting loud hip hop and salsa music the entire time. It was too loud for my party to hear each other. We asked them if they could turn the music down just a touch and we were told they couldn't. We regret coming in and definitely will not be back.

Everything we tried was super tasty, the spices were balanced, the presentation was great, and not too spicy for our pallet. Chicken Biryani rice (€29.9), with a bready top that was taken off by the server, side of yogurt, side of masala sauce. Super tasty dish 10/10. Potato cake appetizer (€13.5), super tasty, it was topped with complementary sauces, well balanced between savory, sour, and tart. Excellent appetizer. Puri Chaat? (€15), They didn't list it on the menu, I asked for it and the chef was nice enough to create it for me. Super tasty and not too spicy We also go the slow cooked Wicklow lamb to go (€28.5), the meat was super tender, the flavors were excellent, some of the best Indian flavored lambs I've ever tried. The price for two people without drinks is (€104.65), which is on the pricy side, but the flavors and experience was worth it. All in all, I tried this place about 6 years ago and it was great and I tried it again and they still kept their high quality tasty food. Definitely recommend
