I bought butter from this store and when I got home and opened it, I immediately noticed that the butter was in very bad condition. I had put it in the freezer after bringing it home, so when I returned to the store, I simply asked for an exchange or refund.
Instead of taking responsibility or even trying to help, the manager blamed me and told me that I must not have put the butter in the freezer. I KNOW what I did after I bought it. I explained this to her, but she still refused to exchange the product or give me my money back.
What made the situation even worse was the manager's attitude and the way she spoke to me in front of everyone. She yelled at me and said, "Yeah, do whatever you want. I don't care. Nothing is going to affect us." Imagine speaking to a customer who has supported your business for NINE YEARS like that simply because they brought back a bad product and asked for a reasonable solution.
I felt humiliated and completely disrespected. The employees were looking at me like I had done something wrong just for asking about a defective product. I walked into the store as a customer asking for help and walked out feeling like I was the problem.
I have seen other issues with products at this store over the years, including products without clear expiration dates, but I usually kept quiet because I did not want an argument or unnecessary problems. This time I decided to speak up because the product I purchased was not acceptable--and instead of receiving basic customer service, I was yelled at and treated disrespectfully.
A manager should know how to handle a customer complaint professionally. If you cannot replace a product or provide a refund, you can explain that respectfully. There is absolutely no excuse for yelling at a customer and telling them we "don't care. You can report and laughing at me they said we get lot of report no one can do anything about it. read more
