This market is amazing - we had to take a train to another borough to get here, but it was well worth the trip. My bf is Turkish, so he was so excited to check it out because there aren't really any markets here in the city that have Turkish goods. Instantly when I stepped inside, I felt so intrigued with the different options of Turkish goods here. Since I don't know too much about Turkish food, I just held the shopping basket and let my bf do all the shopping. I must say, everything he put in that basket looked DELICIOUS. I just wish we had this market closer to where we live! I'm writing this review weeks after my trip, and I can conclude that everything that we had purchased in the photo was amazing and I will be definitely coming back very soon to restock! read more

Euro Market - Turkish grocery haul - International Grocery Near Me - Astoria, New York

Always great customer service, and we always find what we need. Prices are good and always able to buy our European snacks! They have different types of frozen Burek. Granted fresh ones always taste way better but this is the second best thing when you get that crave. read more

I worked at Euromarket in Astoria, Queens, New York for 8 full days. The owner, Panayiotis Menikou, told me to bring two forms of ID and said we would complete the paperwork later. After I left for personal reasons, he initially avoided paying me -- not answering calls and not showing up to work when I came by. I eventually went to the store late one night to speak with him in person. After arguing for about 20 minutes, he only paid me half of what he owed me. During my time there, I also witnessed serious food safety issues. The store was selling expired products -- including pantry items and drinks -- and instead of discarding them, employees were instructed to erase expiration dates using rubbing alcohol. Several customers even complained about expired items while I was there. Please be aware of these practices before supporting this business. read more

I used to visit Euro Market years ago, but because the store is very messy and cluttered, so I stopped coming in. Last week, I stopped in because I needed a quick breakfast and bought a packaged croissant. As I was eating the croissant on the train, I noticed half of it was covered in dark green mold. When I called Euro Market to notify them about the moldy food, the woman who answered the phone was extremely defensive and said "NO THATS NOT TRUE", she then gave the phone to the manager, who said "There is mold because its hot and humid outside". I told him that's no excuse for selling moldy food. They did not offer to fix the problem, or show any type of concern about checking the other expired/moldy food packages. Unfortunately, I had to file a complaint with the NYC Department of Health. Hopefully they will get things under control since they do have a good selection of European products. read more

I'd searched all over LIC and Astoria for Jerk seasoning to air fry wings for my friends over a weekend and I was about to hop on the train when I saw Euro Market. I'm use the to places not carrying such items and having to travel to Brooklyn where such is appreciated. It made me happy to find a local market that acknowledges many cultures in their selection of products. The 5th star is because I was asked to leave my bag at the front door as if I were a thief, which wasn't a pleasant feeling but it's my understanding that they do this to all guest. Not luxury or mindful of the client experience but my friend and I were happy in the end. read more

Have not been here for a while, went there for cheese since Titan Foods is closed; cheese selection is good; they have fresh bread as well. BUT... the two women at the checkout counter are so unfriendly and disinterested, no eye contact, bantering in Bulgarian and ignoring the customers; so much variety means but check the dates, expired stock on the shelves; no more fresh or smoked meats just packaged stuff (also check dates). Cheese, beer, and bread, that's about all for me here. Check the dates on the beer. Did I mention the unfriendly ladies at the counter? It's not the Astoria we grew up in any more. read more

I've been to this market several times over the years and have never had a negative experience which says a lot for community shopping in any neighborhood in New York City. They have a huge breadth of products from all over Europe, but they mostly specialize in Greek food and to a lesser degree Turkish food. I know, ironic. But you can get everything from incense to pastries, fresh olives, cheese and real actually good taramusalada, not that stuff in the jar that's made of mayonnaise. The people that work here aren't all up on your back while you're shopping. If you have any questions, they're happy to answer. They're polite. Like I said I haven't had any issues shopping here so I've come here several times over the last 14 years. read more

Expired food on the shelves. Be careful with dairy and frozen foods. However there is VERY good fresh bread but it sells out quick.

Staff always looks miserable, never smiles or even greet you. Peter (owner) still has products from 2023 and 2024 on his shelves and doesn't care to remove whatsoever.Been a loyal customer for almost a decade spending 250-$300 each trip. Very unprofessional, rude and extremely racist been coming forever and they always watch like I'm going to steal doesn't make any sense stop spending money here they DONT WANT IT. read more

I just want to start off by saying that I do not EVER throw out food. However, the pastries here were so stale and offensive to my taste buds there was NO way I could keep eating them or offend someone else by giving them away. The feta and olives were extremely salty and ONLY salty...actually no other flavor profile. This grocery store radiates bad vibes. Stay away. read more

Hi everybody out there , this place it used to be my favorite place to shop , but .....i'm very DISAPPOINTED with it now !!! Looks that , the owner it is tired of his business and his place is going down in quality very rapidly , maybe he is tired and want to ....sell it !!! The fresh meat section disappeared , selling only packed meat ( probably repacked , check expiration date ... !!! ) !!! There are a lot of EXPIRED items on shelves also , so do your check on everything !!! I had stomach problems from eating from their stuff i bought , i do not recommend this place anymore !!! And prices sky rocketed too for low quality , expired products !!! That's a shame that it got to this... BAD LEVEL store !!! What a disappointment !!! read more

Excellently supplied with food and drinks you cant find else in the states and popular prices too. Big minus is they don't do deliveries in or out state but are the only one having certain products in entire US of A. Reason - unknown/we don't want too much money. read more

This market has great food! There were many things I didn't understand, but that's OK because I'm getting to understand these different languages. I love that they had Russian, French, Serbian and Bulgarian food and music! It brings out the market a lot, sure I barely understand the text on the food or the music. Besides that I had an amazing experience with this market and I can't wait to go again. read more

Great selection on Food from different European countries. Wish more classics would be available e.g. Zivotinjsko Carstvo, dry meat, cheeses from Croatia or more selection on the Messmer Teas from Germany. But all in all a great place. read more

They have a lot of products which is good and if you know What you want and can fun it, it's good, they also have a lot stuff that is old and no one ever buys so look at expiration dates. Prices are a bit high and staff doesn't really know if they have something. I was looking for some Icelandic foods and they did not really know anything. They do have some Nutella and deli meats that I can't find anywhere else. But aside from that the staff is not very helpful find you anything. A lot of the items are packed in the shelves it makes me wonder that people don't really buy anything here and food gets old as it sits on the shelves. read more

I found a great gem of a supermarket. This place has an amazing selection of cured meats, cheeses, different types of pickled olives and mushrooms. The staff is really friendly. I was lucky to have an older person manning the cured meats. I really didn't know what I was looking at. He actively called me over to tell me about the different types of cured meats that they offer. He let me taste almost everything. It was such an eye opening experience. They have pork, beef, lamb meats. After we went through everything I bought what I really liked and they will slice it up anyway you like (thin sliced for me). This is the store I will be going to for all my charcuterie platter needs. Since it's the holidays I can create a platter with a nice assortment of cured meats with some cheese and olives for parties which I think would be a bit unique. Everyone else can bring some wine ;-) They also offer other European food items and beers. It's a bit out of my way but it is well worth the trip. read more

Now that I live in Astoria, I go to Euro Market as often as possible. Some things to note that I didn't in my review from over a year ago: * Their hours are fantastic and definitely cater to those of us who work outside of a standard 9-5 schedule. They're open from 7am to 1am daily! * One of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to grocery shopping (or any shopping for that matter) is crowds. Crowded aisles are the worst. Euro Market- though popular/busy, is never crowded. The aisles are wide and everything is spread out so that my shopping experience is always relaxed and never stressful or cramped. * I've noticed they've been expanding on the variety of products they carry- notably more Ukrainian items much to my appreciation, as well as a small section of Middle Eastern products. * Everything is great quality. The butcher/cheese/bread/olives selection are my favorite- you can get an entire dinner spread that's all homemade Also- a TIP: I don't care where you're from, you have to try the Bosnian coffee! It's about $7.99 for a pound and is fantastic- does not need any milk or cream or flavoring. I use it to make Turkish coffee as well as regular pots of coffee. It also is always a benefit when the staff are very friendly and helpful, always. read more

I have been a loyal customer for years, but today this cashier just ruined my experience here. I bought a six pack of Ommegang's Short Sleeve Saison, and it rang up 6 for $14.99 (or $2.99 for a single bottle.) Yet the guy tried to charge me for $15.99. If he was honest, I shouldn't need to ask him to price check to save a dollar. I don't like dishonest people! read more

If you buy grocery items with labels on them in foreign languages, and calories given in metrics and servings listed with obscure symbols Then it's not that bad for ya. Euro Market - Decisions, decisions.... - International Grocery Near Me - Astoria, New York

My favorite part of this store is the deli counter where you can sempre ask the different varieties of cured meats and sausages before you buy. This place has sooo many yummy things that are Italian, Greek, Balkan, Russian specialty items and staples. read more

Pretty cool market that embodies everything that is great about this neighborhood. Awesome imported products from Balkan states and Central Europe, complete with a large selection of olives, feta, and cured meats. Subtracting a point for the flies everywhere (including INSIDE the cheese display), landing on the cured meats and olive selection. I was a little bit hesitant to purchase any after this cleanliness problem. The market is an oasis of Central European goods but the staff needs to educate themselves on other cultures. As someone of Asian decent, I do encounter racism in Europe, but I was surprised that the staff to carries cultural ignorance back to this side of the pond. Queens is the most culturally diverse county in the US, along with a huge Asian diaspora. The staff needs to know that it is 100% NOT OK to continue to mention that they know martial arts to me, assume that I am from XYZ Asian country (doesn't matter which country, because they are obviously wrong), and continue to press on where I am from (I'm Asian-American from CALIFORNIA). Subtracting major points for creating an unwelcoming atmosphere for different ethnicities. read more

Without a doubt, visiting this place was one of my favorite parts of going to NYC. Every item looked delicious. True, Asoria, Queens, is sort of a ways away from Manhattan, but well worth the visit if you're nearby. Here's a short list from my tip to start - Long banana peppers, cabbage leaves & roasted eggplant in a jar, frozen cheesy pastries, rope bread, frozen artichoke halves, carrot & lime or grapefruit & pomegranate juice, all the Greek yogurt brands on the market... This place might be heaven. The artisan beer list was pretty epic too. read more

I love this store. They have a great selection of European groceries and snacks and their beer section is amazing.

This place has many options, mainly from Eastern European countries. The selection is good so it's kind of fun to walk around. On the other side, the food is sometimes pretty old so be careful about the expiration dates. It's also pricey which was not expected, and considered how hot these days are and how hot inside was, I think not having the A/C on is bad for the food. read more

Considering the raving reviews on Yelp I had high expectations for the Euro Market that unfortunately did not pan out. First of all there are barely any price signs on anything. This is a big pet peeve of mine at grocery stores. How am I supposed to know how much I'm spending, if I'm getting a good deal, etc? There are also no sales, no draws to get you in the store. Things were overpriced across the board, I understand this stuff is imported but still. Also some packages have clearly been opened - especially the beers. I saw lots of 6 packs with half the drinks missing. The store was also unusually hot, and I was wondering if everything can keep fresh in that environment. Another problem is everything is in foreign packaging with no helpful descriptions of any kind what the ingredients are. What if you are allergic to something? They could at least put up some general signs or explanations. If anything, Euro Market just made me realized how many imported goods are already available in most of your regular supermarkets in Queens. Walk into most of the supermarkets in the area and you will find middle eastern food, asian food, European food etc. I am talking Food Bazaar, Trader Joe, Trade Fair, Associated, etc. Most of the stuff and more is already in there, so you really don't need to come here and you will get a better deal. Also I realized Yelp people are super biased positively toward niche quirky stores and restaurants. They always get perfect reviews and chain stores get bashed regardless of quality. Starting to turn me off of yelp a little. Pros: Lots of European Goods Cons: no prices/overpriced (-1.5 star) hot temperature (.-5 star) missing goods (-.5 star) packaging (-.5 star) read more

I Don't think I need to spend $$$ flying to Europe to Get my Treats! This place has the LARGEST European BEER selections! You name them, They have it (most of them). Not just only that. Half the Store is also full of SWEETS from All over Europe (I can't have enough of their Chocolates from Poland). Mint Krokant from Sweeden, Rolo, Kinder chocolates, Milka Chocolate Bars, Toblerone, and many more!. OK.. in terms of Cooking Stuff.... I can smell their FRESH Flavor of Dry Meats, Olives, Curry Ketchup, Special ingredients that you cannot find in any other supermarkets. I guarantee You will not come out from the store Empty handed. read more

I love going into grocery stores where I can't understand any of the packaging. Normally this language barrier occurs in some of the major Asian and So. Asian communities in the city. However in Astoria's EuroMart you are confronted by product descriptions in Russian/French/German and Greek rather than Chinese/Korean/ and Hindi. The Market itself is a full size Super Market filled to the brim with imports from Europe. From Spanish Jamon to Turkish Pickles every country gets their due. They have a wide selection of beer, olives, cheeses and smoked meats all organized by country of origin. Most interesting are some of the more mundane comfort foods from these regions, like baked beans from Ireland and Canned Soda from Russia. These products are there not because they are gourmet imports but because they are a piece of home to so many in the community. They all serve as a reminder of the depth of the cultural diversity that exists in New York, and especially western Queens. read more

A day off means a trip to Greece..(Astoria) I was yelping yesterday and found this place reviewed...Okay on my subway, looking out the window I see the sign Euro Market.. We decide on our way back to Manhattan from Greece, we would explore this store.. OMG.... Not only are the men very chivalrous (holding the door while I push a cart from the sidewalk into the store,) the variety of foods, smiles, cleanliness is a real turn on.. The olives, meats, spices, oils, cheeses and butter (from New Zealand, and Buffalo milk butter etc.) are a dance party in your eyes and in your mouth.. And the shopping music they play is also very good.. I was actually dancing with my cart.. Too bad I don't drink beer.. the variety is amazing read more

I could give Euro Market 5 stars based on the beer selection alone. They have beers from every corner of Europe and they let you mix and match them up the way you want. Many are quite rare and expensive. I got 4 bottles last time I was here - 1 Troubadour Blond,1 Urbock Rauchbier, 1 Midas Touch and 1 Sarajevo pilsner - it cost me $14. Another reason to come here are the smoked meats. In fact it was their smell that drew me here initially. I highly recommend the spicy sausage and the smoked pork neck. The man behind the counter is extremely helpful and will let you sample the meats so you can make your pick. They also have a good selection of feta cheese in the same section but I've been getting my feta fix from Titan so I haven't tried theirs yet. Besides the beer and meats, they have tons of other goodies - mostly European, with Greece being the overwhelming representative. I have become a fan of Ajvar thanks to Euro Market. It's a regular part of my diet now. I've also been trying different sugary treats like halvas and wafers which they always seem to have on sale. Euro Market is one of those places that makes living in Astoria great and one of the reasons why I'll find it difficult to move from here. read more

Was looking for something open later because Muncan was about to close and this place popped up on my search and based on the reviews, I figured I'd try. BIG MISTAKE! I should've walked away the min. I stepped in the place because its pretty dirty in there but against my better judgement I proceeded to buy a piece of cascaval for $12.69! Get home and try, rancid. I shouldve known better there was no exp date on the thing but I had asked for it from behind the counter and felt bad about handing it back. It gets better, the parizer, turning black and brown along the edges, and smells of rot. At least that was only about $3 but still wouldnt it be nice to get deli meat thats fresh? Thank God I didnt bother with the olives and pickles because that section looked awful. Anyway this place mightve been good a while ago but its pretty bad now. Save your time and money and just head over to Muncan or Parrot Coffee, they've got much better and fresher stuff! read more

Make sure that you do not confuse Euro Market with the knock-off version just down the block called 'European Food Store', which has far less variety than the Euro Market. I was skeptical, as I am often when checking out a new place that I am not familiar with. But whatever notion of expectation I had went through the window, as my virgin eyes had never seen so many meats and sausages dangling from a steele pole at one singular point in space before. I was struck with a moment of confusion. I didn't know whether to act scared or excited. After a moment of careful contemplation, I had decided to go with the latter reaction. A wall of beer bottles aggrandizing across the furthest corners of my eyes could stretch (being of Asian descent has its advantages.) I had checked at least 40 different varieties of beer before I had gave up, seeing I still had another four full refridgerators ahead of me. From the Mediterranean seas to the Balkans and into the Black seas, Euro Market housed some of the most exotic sounding items I've ever came across. And yet, they were all of high quality and of great taste. p.s. Interesting fact, I have actually located a tiny one quarter of an aisle stocked with American products located at the far corners of the market, which I thought was hillarious. read more
