This is one of the best restaurants in Wilmington. The food was elevated, fresh, and delicious. The oysters with the pickled onion sorbet was a standout. The service was top notch. We went for a light dinner and had to be out by a certain time. The waiter paced that the dinner service to ensure we would make it to our next event. I will certainly return!

Manna is one of my favorite restaurants ever. And, it's where I first learned about mounting sauce -- a.k.a. "mantecatura" (tossing slightly al dente pasta in a sauce with fat (butter/oil/cheese) and starchy pasta water to create a light coating that clings to the pasta. The chef at Manna is a pro at this process, which I first discovered when I ordered the one of his specials -- the Arthur Ave Pasta, which was housemade spaghetti, with Italian Speck, spinach, shaky cheese, and pistachios. Wowza! (And, yes, I live in the Bronx near Aruthur Avenue but can't say I've ever had pasta this good in Little Italy Bronx). I also had the best Broccoli Soup I've ever had at Manna. I usually stay away from Broccoli Soup, as I usually consider it "pedestrian" or "very 90s." But this Broccoli Soup -- woah! It was f-ing fantastic! I want a second home in Wilmington just so I can go to this restaurant all the time. I just love it!

What an unforgettable experience! We walked in, unplanned, unaware of what we were walking into. On a busy summer night during 2026 4th of July weekend where most restaurants you need a reservation for a table we went straight to the bar. My mother and I wanted to enjoy the fireworks and the meal was an in-between moment while we wait for the main event. We stayed near by at a bed and breakfast in the heart of the historic city of Wilmington. 3 blocks away from the waterfront I found Manna on yelp had good rating and a good amount of reviews and as I searched for "seafood near me" it was one of 3 to pop up on top. From the moment we arrive we were greeted warmly and felt welcomed. We sat at the bar as we had no reservations, immediately the servers and bartenders introduced themselves and as they asked if we were ready we asked for recommendations and we got to not only get a throw overview of each dish but also its story and it was such a refreshing treat. It reminds me of the reason I live hospitality so much the immersive experience of being part of their cuisine. This is a farm to table type of restaurant and so the menu changes weekly. I highly recommend coming here, I loved every moment and every bite. Worth every penny. It is a place, food and people I will remember always and return in a heartbeat if I get another chance. Thank you for enhancing and creating such a special moment with my mother and our girls trip

We made a last-minute decision to visit Wilmington for a few days. After reading reviews, we called Manama to book a table. Stephanie was super friendly and helpful, even making recommendations on things to do and other places to eat. We were seated right away. The decor is stunning - both natural and elegant, reflecting their farm-to table approach. Every dish has a clever name, but I forgot to make note of them. My husband ordered the crispy flounder, which he said was delicious. I ordered a wild mushroom dish, which was equally tasty. Of course we had to try the cornbread. It was even better than what I make! They have an extensive wine list, and the sommelier's recommendation of a French Burgundy was outstanding. (It's a 2023 Domaine Fountaine-Gagnard). When we come back to Wilmington, manna will be top on our list of places to dine.

AMAZING! There is a reason this place is a AAA Diamond restaurant. The staff was so attentive - even opening the door on our way out! I am always nervous going to a restaurant with a changing menu because you never know what you're going to get but everything we had was delicious. The tart as an app is the way to go (peppers were good but the tart was better). My husband loved the gumbo and I had a pork dish that was so flavorful.

Only giving it 4 stars because of 2 things. No salad options except for a beet salad or soup. The menu was limited appetizers and about 5 entries , so a salad option would be lovely. The restaurant itself was very beautiful , and the service was above and beyond. The food was absolutely delicious. I would encourage everyone to try this lovely farm to table restaurant, you will not be disappointed. There are limited options but what they have is absolutely delicious so you will not leave dissatisfied. Husband had the speckled trout and I had the porkchop. We were told that the menu changes daily. We would definitely return.

Semolina bread with ricotta and preserves

Incredible food and experience from start to finish. The staff were attentive and sweet, taking the time to explain everything and answer questions. The food was out of this world - we started with the semolina bread with ricotta and berry preserves which was simple but perfect! I had the smoked pork chop and my husband had the New York strip. Both were cooked to perfection. His duck fat fries were over the top delicious. We finished by splitting a chocolate torte dessert. One of our favorite meals of all time! The restaurant was fun and romantic, didn't feel stuffy at all, but still upscale.

Great meal, beautiful restaurant, service that cares. A menu that will please - promise. Won't be disappointed.

Tucked into the heart of downtown Wilmington, Manna offers an elevated dining experience that blends local pride with refined, eclectic charm. Housed in a century-old brick building--once home to a telecommunications company--the restaurant spills over into an adjacent venue with live music, creating a dynamic atmosphere rooted in history and creativity. Inside, the space is warm and sophisticated, with exposed brick, soaring ceilings, and a striking green granite-topped bar that sets the tone for what's to come. Their cocktail program is daring, handcrafted, and unapologetically bold--featuring clever names like *Mama Tried* and *World Traveler*. Even the mocktails get their moment under the banner "They're right here, Jim." The wine list is extensive, and if you're a fan, it's worth asking about their wine club. The menu changes regularly and reflects what's fresh and in season, with a strong focus on local ingredients. During my visit, the offerings included North Carolina oysters, crab cuts, swordfish, pork chops, and free-range organic chicken, plus fresh local vegetable options--all elevated with creative touches. I ordered the nightly plate special: fried chicken served over potato salad with a red cabbage slaw. The slaw had just the right balance of tart and sweet, and the chicken was outstanding--crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful inside, with a perfectly seasoned coating. Easily one of the best pieces of fried chicken I've had in a long time. Service was top-tier from the moment I walked in--professional, friendly, and exactly what you hope for in a restaurant of this caliber. Manna is the real deal. Everything is fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and deeply rooted in the region. If you're after real food, real drinks, and a dining experience that honors both creativity and hospitality, this place nails it.

My wife and I had the pleasure of attending the Beggars Can't Be Choosers dinner on Sunday. It was a wonderful experience. You're seated at the Bar and you order food flights. What is delivered is up to the Chef. We enjoyed all of the flights. The food was delicious and service at Manna is always great.

I was visiting now and before I prepared for my trip I researched the local restaurants in the area. Manna was one that really caught my attention. It is a restaurant that changes their menu seasonally which appealed to me. The ambiance was very charming as it wasn't a large restaurant, so it was very romantic. The art of the walls was beautiful as well. We started off with the an old fashioned and an espresso martini. We were both surprised with how good they were and shared the drinks back and forth. For appetizers we got the oysters and house made bread. The oysters were truly something else. They were filled with green tomato mignotte and pickled onion sorbet. The mignotte was extra sour and the sorbet brought a cold touch to your mouth. Honestly we're some of the best oysters I've ever had. The bread was also a hit. The warm bread was so soft and crunchy at the same time. The butter was topped with a jam that was sweet and savory at the same time. For dinner we ordered the daily fish and the NY strip. We wanted to have a touch of sea and land. The fish was juicy and topped with a crispy skin. The sauce it was served with was a tomatoey puree. The NY strip was one of the best I've had in a while. I'm usually very unsatisfied with ordering a steak out because they never do it correctly. The char on the steak was perfect and it was perfectly cooked. The service of Manna was exceptional and I now understand why it is rated so high in Wilmington. We initially booked for the wrong day and they said they probably wouldn't be able to fit us in. Quickly they called back and assured us that they were able to make it work for us which meant a lot. Next time I visit town, I will surely be back to try out the new items they have. I rate Manna a 9/10!

Dram Yard - After (Shrimp and Grits)

Dram Yard | Wilmington, NC…read more When it comes to dining out, sometimes it's the little details that tell you whether a kitchen really knows what it's doing. Dram Yard delivered two dishes worth talking about. Hanger Steak: A beautiful medium-rare cook with a nice sear on the outside, topped with an herb sauce that complemented the beef without overpowering it. The roasted potatoes were a great pairing, and the creamy broccoli added a rich, comforting touch. A well-presented plate that didn't need a lot of unnecessary extras. Shrimp & Grits: This dish definitely caught my attention. Plump shrimp nestled in creamy grits, surrounded by a rich, savory sauce loaded with vegetables and plenty of flavor. A hearty Southern classic with a little elevated personality. Now, I have a personal test whenever I order shrimp and grits. Do they remove the tails? Because nothing drives me crazier than having to dig through a bowl of sauce and grits to remove shrimp tails. I'm here to eat, not finish prepping my dinner! Dram Yard passed the test! Tails off, exactly how shrimp and grits should be served. It's a small detail, but one I appreciate. Overall, two very different dishes that showcased some thoughtful preparation and presentation. Dram Yard is certainly worth keeping on the Wilmington dining radar.

We each got a bowl of gazpacho, an appetizer size portion of two very small duck lumpia followed by tile fish with flat noodles and a savory broth. The course then was a shared short rib that was entirely fat/gross, one smal grilled onion and two tiny empanadas to share . Desert was a small scoop of ice cream and small crumble type cobbler to share. We in no way felt like it was $90, the portions were not enough to sustain us and we felt incredibly cheated and somehow conned/robbed of over $200 for each of us couples out. Very disappointing!

Wonderful Dinner at River 128!…read more My wife and I had a wonderful dinner at River 128 in Wilmington. We really enjoyed our date night and had a great overall dining experience. My wife ordered the Cajun Chicken Pasta with fried Brussels sprouts, and she really enjoyed it. I had the Black Bass with asparagus, which was delicious and beautifully prepared. I also enjoyed a Blueberry Mojito Mocktail, which was refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal. A special shout-out to our server, Paige, who was absolutely sweet, attentive, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout our meal. Her warm personality and excellent service added to an already enjoyable evening. Great food, great service, and a wonderful atmosphere. We definitely enjoyed our experience at River 128 and would gladly return!

We made a reservation for a party of 5 and were seated outside at a table with a great view of the water. We chose this place because it had a decent selection of gluten free options. I had a bowl of clam chowder and a glass of wine since it was late and I wasn't super hungry. My friends ordered a mix of entrees including the burger and fish. While we enjoyed the food, the service was quite slow and a little lackluster. We asked for extra butter to go with the bread and were met with apathy and a small extra ramekin that wasn't really enough for all of us but we didn't bother requesting again. Although the food tasted good enough, the long wait and the high prices brought this down to a 3-3.5 star experience. @azfitfoodfun
