Manna is located in The Museum of the Bible and it's certainly adds to the experience. The food is Mediterranean and it's delicious. I only tried two things on the menu but they were both wonderful. I had the Mediterranean clam chowder. Lots of flavor and a very light soup. I also tried the roasted chicken flatbread. It was tasty and I think it can be shared between two people. Family had lunch here after spending the morning at the Museum of the Bible. With COVID, it wasn't busy and space to sit. Unfortunately, it was too warm to sit outside, but really liked the patio area. Prices are a little high, which is on par with most museum dining, but did enjoy the Mediterranean dishes and the chicken fingers and fries kid's meal was pretty good. Everything we ordered was delicious, although extremely overpriced, however, we expected this considering it is a museum restaurant. They have a lot of options for vegans and vegetarians which is a plus. It is cafeteria-style, meaning you order your food from one side of a counter and pick it up on a tray on the opposite side. They have self-serve artisanal drinks and self-serve condiments (ketchup, honey mustard, and tahini dressing). When you are done you are to clean up your dishes and pile them on top of a trash can. As mentioned, the only downside is how expensive it is. Hummus w/pita (small but reasonable portion)- $5.99 French fries- $5.99 Chicken Pesto Flatbread- $12.99 Taste of Israel Platter- $14.99 Everything on the platter could have easily been priced anywhere from $8-$10 as it is all vegan with no meat or animal products... This is the Mediterranean restaurant inside of the MOTB. Think of an upscale Cava Mezze. The only 3 protein options were pumpkin falafel, lamb meatball, and chicken. The flavors were ok. I had to ask for salt and pepper (which came in a bowl bc they don't have packets or dispensers available for guest use). The staff was friendly however and explained the ordering process to those who needed help. You basically have a paper menu and mark with a pencil your food selection. You can order items ala carte if you choose to. There are no regular bottled water options or cups of water. Only coconut and another fancy flavored mint or lemon water. There are no real dessert options. Just cookies and brownies. They have a private dining space as well as a nice rooftop seating area. It was nice to try but I don't have to return. read more

If you're visiting the Bible museum in D.C., you must stop at this place. It's on the six floor and you do not need to buy a museum ticket. All you need to do to get there is tell the front desk personnel that you're going to Manna. They will give you a sticker and you're good to go. The place is big with a nice interior design. I ordered a steak salad and it was one of the best salads of that kind I have ever had. It's priced fairly for a museum restaurant. I don't know what I was thinking coming here. Oh yeah, I might get some mediterranean food near the Hyatt. But noooo. Although the dishes are colorful and appear appetizing, they are quite bland and the meat is of inferior quality and certainly not mediterranean in any respect. I wanted the Greek Salad with steak instead of chicken and had to go through three levels of management to make that happen. Seriously, they just kept asking up and up until finally someone capitulated. That said, the steak was of such an inferior quality, it was pre-chewed, stabbed and beaten to make it palatable, it reminded me of institutional cafeteria food, like a convalescent hospital or prison. The feta wasn't real feta, cow rather than sheep. The menu stated the salad had tapenade and red onion, which I could not find initially, but digging through the lettuce I found a razor thin sliver of red onion and a shrapnel piece of olive. Order it, I dare you. I also bought the "Exodus" lamb meatballs as a take out. To call this lamb would be a stretch, unless it was the lamb Abraham sacrificed, then that would explain the dried out meat grit they called a meatball. Neither moist or flavored, this dog treat should be retired ASAP. Beyond that, the security is ridiculous. You will see close to twenty guards by the time you get through the metal detectors and make your way to the elevator. I commented to a security guard "you guys don't make it easy to eat here". She looked at me for a second before replying dryly "That's your opinion... SIR!" Ouch. Anyway, if you are someone who enjoys the TSA experience right before you get served an over-priced prison meal, then Manna is for you! read more

To get to this little place, you have to duck into the museum of the Bible and ascend the six floor. The stairs are really pretty so I recommend that over an elevator. The restaurant itself is a little nicer than fast casual, and when it's warm there's an outdoor seating area. After you place your order you wait at the end of the line for your meal be placed on a tray. The food is heavy on Middle Eastern choices , Such as chickpeas and garbanzo beans and hummus and feta and lamb. Everything we ordered was delicious though somewhat pricey. But the quality seating area makes up for it. read more

The restaurant is a beautiful complement to the Museum of the Bible. They're a match made in heaven. It is so spacious plus there is an open air biblical garden, which I am sure is first choice for the summer months. As soon as you walk in, there are menus to your left. Orders are placed directly in front and you are assigned a number. You can sit wherever you like and the food will be brought to you. After completing your meal, you clear any food into the trash then pile your dishes atop one another. It's like a cafeteria. In the middle of what ended up being a five-hour tour of the museum, my family and I decided to dine in. I was not excited about the menu, but eventually ordered the Delilah (Mediterranean spiced chicken, mozzarella, shaved red onion, minus the roasted mushrooms) flatbread for $14.99. What a disappointment! There was an incredible delay in actually receiving my food, which prompted me to inquire with the cashier who informed me that there was some sort of confusion with my order. Upon receipt, it was more bread and cheese than anything else. There were chicken chunks scattered here and there, with barely a hint of Mediterranean flavors. Great for a museum restaurant and pretty darn good even by its own self. Between the three of us we has a Taste of Israel (vegan), a Scholar's Initiative (chicken and rice), and a Gospel (chicken with tahini grits). The portions were huge and the food was tasty. I also grabbed a chocolate halavah brownie and had to save it for later, such was the quantity of the main course. (It was also delicious, at home, with a glass of cold milk, but, I digress...) The entree combinations, which included appetizer and salad served on the same plate, were about $16. As a long time DC resident I understand that is perfectly reasonable. As someone who grew up in the Midwest I appreciate how a visitor may see that as a bit expensive. The staff was extremely friendly and place was spotless. Other things that stuck in my mind were the upscale flatware and custom-crafted beverages. These are things that I would expect to find in a standalone, upscale restaurant. The result was to create an environment that made us want to sit for a bit longer to enjoy our meal rather than gobble it down and rush off, back to the exhibits. For a museum it might be considered a needless and for use was defiantly a welcome extravagance. And for what it's worth, even though I've seen the museum I would gladly return to enjoy the restaurant. read more

We were expecting to pay top dollar for mediocre food at this museum restaurant. The restaurant was top notch--just like the museum. Hubby and I don't eat meat, so we both ordered Taste of Canaan and loved it. Also ordered a side of naan and two fountain drinks. All together, it cost $40.00. Not bad for a truly good meal at a museum in DC. The food was unique and delicious and the serving sizes were large. The restaurant was clean with someone clearing and cleaning tables the whole time and we were there off peak, around 2:30. It was close to 100 degrees outside, so we ate inside and went out to the rooftop garden after. It was so pretty, we ended up sitting out there for 30 minutes, enjoying the breeze, couches and water features. There were tables for eating on the patio. Definitely recommend and would go back again. Tip: Study the menu before you go so you get through the line a little easier. There are menus available at the entrance. read more

The Bible Museum was an enjoyable experience ,despite the high prices I'm 95% sure that it was worth it,95%. At the museum they had the performed Prince Caspian for us and I have to say it was very good acting. The play itself I would give 5 stars because the actors did very well and the costumes that were featured were very cool and I respect the craft. However the main issue was money but luckily I was prepared. During the intermission for the play me and my friend went to get some soda,something which was weird.They POURED their soda from the cans and put them into their cups,and at first I was like cool free cups, the I was paying for the Cups! Both of them cost around $17. The food however was excellent. I had gotten the tenders which were HUGE and I got the za'atari fries which were sweet with honey and peppery. Inside the Museum of the Bible is a unique Mediterranean eatery that is more upscale than the typical cafeteria food and unlike the usual "museum" type food, tasty and interesting. We enjoyed our lunch and based on the brief experience walking through the museum, I will be visiting the museum soon. My colleague and I were downtown for a meeting that ended at 1330 (1:30pm) and we were hungry, but not interested in the usual fast food or standard fare. A quick search of the options and we started walking...and quickly realized that Manna was inside the museum! We got quickly screened (bags in a high-speed scanner; walk through a metal detector) and checked in with the greeter and informed her that we were going to Manna. Up the elevator to the sixth floor, exit and turn right; and as many have already described, the view from the sixth floor is scenic. We missed the lunch crowd so the line was not long. Two lines - one for credit cards and the other for cash. Note, if you use your credit card, you have the option to tip - 15%, 20%, or others. My recommendation is to choose other and add another percentage as there is no servers. I chose the dish with the lamb meatballs (don't remember the name), but it came with several (healthy) and tasty side dishes. My colleague had the flatbread chicken (sort of like a pizza) - it too was tasty and flavorful. Specialty juices were available. For a less costly option, there were pre-made take out type options available too. Order your dish and you can walk down the line as they make select the various cuisine to place on your dish. Many options, most I have no idea about, but all looked delicious. Based on my one dish, the remainder of the options should also be as good. The only downside? No beer or wine, it would pair with the dining...maybe in the future? read more

We went there in April and also paid for a membership to support the museum before we got there. The membership gives a discount on food, I think it's 10%. The food was good but the server put the wrong ingredients in a mixed Meditarian dish, my husband went back and they just gave him the other ingredients, wasn't a big deal. The lines are extremely long all the time, we went right before they closed when most of the people had already left the museum. Since we went on a weekend we noticed that Sunday there was a restaurant we wanted to try but it was closed on Sunday so we'll have to plan better on a Saturday. Prices are similar to most tourist areas and there are little carts on each floor that offer water, drinks and snacks, but still expensive. Eat before you go and bring snacks and empty container for water cause the security at the front will check your bags in this weird xray type machine. read more

My family and I decided to eat here while visiting the museum. There were 4 of us so we figured it would be a little pricey, but worth it. That was not the case. Upon ordering our food, my father wanted to get the steak salad and change the meat to their chicken option. The lady at the register could not seem to figure that out and talked in circles until finally asking for assistance from a manager. Once that part was over, we were hit with a nice price tag of $100 for the four of us to eat a salad, 2 sets of chicken strips, and a shrimp "salad". I say salad lightly because it was shrimp on top of 3 large lettuce leaves. Not cut up or anything. That's not a salad. Chicken strips were absolutely bland with no flavor. The Mac and cheese was not edible. And the Steak salad (sub chicken) was disappointing in flavor and wet with some type of oil or dressing even though it was asked to leave the dressing off. Overall, the only part of the meal we even liked at all was the overpriced drinks. I went over to the front to fill out a "comments, questions, or concerns" form and they were completely empty so we could not fill any out. Apart from it being really overpriced for what you get, my steak salad had a bone hidden in it, which I unfortunately bit into with one of my molars. I started having excruciating pain immediately, and I went up to the counter to let the employees know what happened. I brought the bone to them, and they said "thanks for letting us know". No apology, no offer to exchange my meal for something else or refund my money. Nothing. Thankfully, I kept the bone and my receipt as evidence. Almost a week later, and I'm still in pain.
