Our full AC and Heat system was replaced by Mann-In on the day right after Labor Day. Out of the 6 estimates I had, Mann-In's was competitive and sounded most dependable. Believe or not, a "Technician" from Company A even told me that I am having a Pump system (Called the manufacturer, Carrier, and found it is AC). The contract was detailed enough, including equipment number for AC, furnace, coil, Thermostat unit, and the size of supply trunk to facilitate the air flow required by the equipment (5 tons in my case). Best of all, the company president made an on-site visit to finalize the work scope and installation specifications before I signed the contract. Three guys worked on the project for approximately 8 hours. The lead technician was patient in explaining to me everything I raised, from simple control unit menu questions to engineering work. I felt that the job was professionally done. I got the promised manufacturer rebate within 4 weeks without any hassle. I waited for nearly a month to write this review and you can tell that everything works great. The lessons I learned through this process were: (1) Do homework and research to get the initial list of companies, including checking manufacturer's authorized dealer list, yelp review score and other comments; (2) Hold decision until when all visits by committed companies are completed and estimates are compared and verified, focusing on price, equipment quality, and potential installation work (better specified in the contract); (3) Review contract carefully before signing especially when several rounds of negotiations and revisions are made. (4) Be cautious if you sign up at Homedepot 's website for HVAC services. You never know who is going to show up at your door. Checking manufacturer's dealer list turns out to be a better and cost-efficient solution. Overall, I am very happy with my current system, its WIFI-enabled thermostat control panel, and the overall look of the supply trunk, pipes and furnace in my basement. read more
