On my third visit had the unfortunate realization that the shop operated with racism at the forefront. I had a 15-20 minute seated wait with non-melanated people coming into the shop after me and me watching them get seated right away for their service. Before you ask, they were walk-ins like me. I also had not asked for a specific person. P When I started to get visibly upset someone finally attended me and didn't even double check what my service was before they were doing something I had not asked for. I had a free moment and was able to get service immediately. I got a full set, gel nails. Lauren did my service and was kind and efficient. I was in and out in 45 minutes. THE WORST NAIL SALON EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD!! I was DISRESPECTED and told to go to the nail salon I got my nails done prior after I went in to get a single acrylic nail fixed. THEY CROSSED THE LINE! I ended up tearing up after feeling so overwhelmed and they didn't care. I went in to get a nail fixed and I first mentioned that the acrylic wasn't covering my entire nail and she said "It'll be fine I'll file it", then after she was done there was a gap in between the side of my nail and cuticle that was clearly visible so I politely pointed it out. She acted annoyed and rudely called someone to look at my nail. Then the manager I believe came and he said they would fix it, but the proceeded to remove the whole thing and said "Well you didn't like it and we can't do what you want" he then pointed me towards the door and said "Go get get it done where you went". I had got them done out of town, so that was clearly not an option. I was in shock and disbelief, but I wasn't gonna leave without the service I wanted. They accepted in a way and just sat me down with no information on if I was gonna get my service or not and how long it would be. Another costumer politely asked if I was okay and I started crying after I said I wasn't. I was so overwhelmed and in shock that someone would be so rude to a costumer and treat them that way. I didn't intend at any point to cause an issue, but it was taken out of proportion and the CROSSED THE LINE. I did get my nail sort of fixed at the end, it wasn't the exact shade which was okay. I'm not sure if they thought that was the issue, but it shouldn't be a valid reason whatsoever. UPDATE: October 2025 | I came in for a full acrylic set this time. I wanted to stop getting the gel X nails because they can't fill them in, so you're getting a new set every time and it's so expensive. Immediately the nail tech was annoyed that I opted for acrylic over the gel X - that's fine- be annoyed. She then proceeds to do my nails so they look like they're already grown out. The acrylic is so thick it almost looks like bubble nails, and I asked for a natural square look and it is anything but. In just three days, my pointer fingernail popped off. It's really unfortunate because it's within walking distance of my home, but I will be getting in the car going forward to have my nails done properly and with care. read more

I came here in mid January for Gel nail polish removal ($15). It is currently nearly the end of March. They shaved down my nails to the point of initially bleeding under the nail's surface (not pictured), then cracks so deep into the nail that pressing on my nail gently with the pad of my finger would cause pain. That was immediately after the removal of the polish. As of now; you can see the new nail growth that is healthy and much thicker than my nails were after their excessive polish removal that removed layers of my nail bed. Currently as the nails continue to grow, I have been experiencing my nails chipping, cracking, and snapping off on a near daily basis. This has never happened to me before at any other nail salon in the past with a task that was literally just gel nail polish removal. For the health of your nails, please reconsider coming here. read more

Made an appointment- was VERY tight on time before traveling and needed to get a dipping powder manicure. Had a 3:30 apt - no one is at the front desk, the lobby is full of walk-ins, after dealing with all the walk ins I said I had an apt and was in a bit of a time crunch. 25 minutes later they told me it would be a 1/2 hour! Don't have a choice but to wait given my upcoming travel, but would NEVER come again after this experience- no matter how good the service is. Really inexcusable. Was very rude when I walked in. Got angry at me when I kept on asking where I should sit down. The station was dirty. The tech also kept on talking in their own language with other workers, not paying enough attention to the actual work. Everything seemed to be very rushed. I felt very uncomfortable, because I could tell that they were being nicer to certain customers, would greet and treat certain customers more gently. I went there to get a pedicure and my eyebrows waxed. The pedicure was great and I do recommend that service but BEWARE THE BROW WAXING. They literally ripped off layers of my skin. It looks like I have huge scrapes over my brow area and they STING. I am so so lucky I didn't have them done for an event or I would literally be crying over how bad they look. I've attached a pic so everyone can see I'm not exaggerating. This pic is the day AFTER I got them done. I got them done yesterday and today they just look worse and they still hurt. Directly afterwards the areas they tore skin off burned like hell and it was so frustrating because I knew if I put a bandaid on it so the air would stop hitting it it would feel better but I couldn't because the injury was ON MY FACE. I have absolutely no idea how something like this happens but it is completely unacceptable and irresponsible. I didn't realize what happened immediately after they finished and they totally rushed me out so I did end up paying and tipping like a fool. I have been coming here consistently for 3 years. This place gets mixed ratings, but I am here to tell you the secrets of Maniluxe. Every person working at this place does nails differently and their individual skill levels differ greatly. If you want to be sure your nails are good, ask for Apple, Candy, or Cindy. Anyone else is a gamble. Leo is good, the androgynous people are not. Do not come with nails still on. When I have acrylics still attached, they remove them by sliding another plastic nail underneath, and slicing the layers of nail that connect them. Very painful. The pedicures are generally subpar. The good thing about this place is how quick and cheap it is. They took the sign down but they do a 10% discount if you pay in cash. They are rude if you try and start with them over your messed up nails. You have to be super nice about it, because most of them don't speak a lot of english and will match your energy and get feisty if you start with them. Take my advice- make an appointment with Apple, pay in cash, and be nice for the best experience. That is the secret to Maniluxe. read more

I wasn't greeted when I walked in, the techs talked about me in their language right in front of me, the station was dirty, the tech kept pulling out hardened acrylic chunks from the powder tin, and when my polish got messed up under the fan, they tried to just paint over it & not correctly fix it. I knew they were talking about me because there were 2 workers and my tech (3 workers total) right in front of me and 2 of them were staring at me and gesturing my body jewelry when I was getting started. This salon is amazing! I had a terrible experience with my nails at another salon, and my nails were horribly damaged. I came here to get them fixed and received exemplary service. The woman helping me removed my polish, fixed my broken nails, and recommended dipping powder as a healthier alternative so that my nails could heal. I got the dipping powder once and was hooked! The salon is super clean, and the atmosphere is relaxing. My pedicure was a 10/10, and the wax treatment made my feet super soft. Definitely one of my favorite salon experiences. read more

I went and got my eyebrows waxed here. I usually get my brows waxed once every few weeks and decided to change things up and try out a new salon. The place was packed when I first got in and I was told to come back in 30 minutes. Since I didn't have an appointment when I first got in, I didn't mind - I just chilled out at SB for a bit. But when I came back, I was told that I would have to wait again. One hour later, I finally am next to get my brows done. I am taken to the back to get my brows done by an esthetician. She put *blazing* hot wax on my upper brows. When I told her it was too hot, she said 'ok', but then continued to put the same super hot wax on my lower brows. I am not sure if she understood what I was trying to say. Also, she put the wax on my *eyelids* as well - this is a BIG "no-no" place to wax. Anyone who was actually experienced in waxing would know this. Needless to say, 4 hours later, my brows are puffy and inflamed - STILL- and I am sitting with a bag of frozen peas trying to cool it down. This was definitely not an experience I would ever repeat. It looked pretty good when she was done but I did notice that she skipped a few steps that were done at other nail shops. One of them is broken/chipped so badly that my finger bled and I had to just cut the nail (my nails were already pretty short). Three quarters of the way through, an annoying Middle Aged stressed out women comes in to get a manicure and decides that this is the best time to catch up with friends from the holidays. People talk on their phones all of the time but her voice was high pitched and echoed through the entire place on an empty Thursday night. I have been going here for years, but my recent negative experience makes me give a review. Most of this is about the customer service, which is definitely lacking. I went for a pedicure last week, and the actual pedicure was fine. I opted for the callus remover, and the technician scraped the side of my foot during the process. Ouch, for sure. I definitely said something during the service. She did say sorry, but she ran to find some sort of medicine to put on the cut, which burned. It was her fault, and I didn't make a scene during the pedicure. When I was done, I asked to get that service removed since I got cut. I got more apologies but no reduction in services. I didn't ask for a completely free pedicure; although I think that would have been reasonable. It is a week later, and I am still dealing with soreness. I am posting because there didn't seem to be any real feeling of concern. I have never had this happen before. Maybe it was someone new, but I just want folks to be aware of the customer service. read more

I've been getting massages for the past 20 years and this by far was the worst experience EVER! A male friend and I went together. We got an hour massage (together). He also got a manicure and pedicure at MY suggestion. So you can imagine my dismay when we get into the massage room and there is no ambiance - NO massage robes, no candles, no dimmed lights, no tranquility. Thankfully, there's a divider for privacy. We were given flimsy wraps to put on. The two technicians who gave us massages were CLEARLY inexperienced. We both were so disappointed we almost asked them to stop 15 minutes into the torture. My friend's technician massaged in one area of his shoulder for almost 30 minutes and kept applying a gooey solution on his back that smelled awful. He had to ask her to stop reapplying after the third application. I, on the other hand, was greesy from top to bottom. (haha) Did I mention the language barrier? The communication, or lack thereof, was horrible! The pedicure was even worse for my friend. He was probed in one area too deep and for too long until he began to bleed around the cuticle on one of his big toes. Days later he was still in discomfort. The location is fantastic! I've been going here for years & the service is always good. Sue, Apple, & ViVi all doing amazing fills & every pedicure I've gotten has been super relaxing and well done. I always make an appointment and arrive a few minutes early or on time. They will move on to the next client if you're late but they're busy so I don't hold that against them. She scrubbed my feet for maybe 30 seconds each. I asked her if that was all she did. She made some excuse. Horrible service. I paid $43 for a service maybe worth $15. Save your time and money. I was in on Friday, 9/1/23 after my wedding rehearsal to get a manicure with gel for wedding photos. I'm not the most experienced at getting these services but have gotten this type of service more recently. I had a pregnant nail tech who used a electrical drill and filed my nail bed away. At one point I did notice a little soreness and responded in which she replied "oh hot". I told her, no that hurts. She speeds through the service and puts the gel on when I notice and redness and pail color to my nails that shows through the clear gel. I know enough to know something is off. When I ask she tells me my nail bed is thin like she didn't just make them thin minutes before. Long story short, another lady takes over and I had them remove any gel. They charged me for a basic manicure and after leaving with a couple days gone by I am furious that I paid them anything at all. My hands are damaged, sore, with thin nails that curls upwards slightly at the ends. read more

I tried this spa, in spite of the mixed reviews, because it's right near where I live, and I wanted to have a backup salon, in case my regular place was booked. So I went, about 9 days ago, to get fills and a French gel manicure, and it was beautiful, for the first few days. When I go to my regular place, the manicure lasts 3-4 weeks, even after my nails have grown out, so that was my expectation. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case; about 4 or 5 days after, my thumb started to chip, and then a couple days later, the polish started to lift. This morning, it came off, straight across my thumbnail, as you can see in the photo. I am really disappointed, I had hoped to have a new go-to, but it doesn't seem that will be the case. read more

I was excited about trying this place because it's located right next to my gym but this could quite possibly be the worst nail salon I've ever been to. I made a morning appt and showed up just before the designated time and they told me to wait, which was fine. Then the jets did not work in my station so the lady doing my pedicure took the filter from the station next to mine (which was just being used by another customer) and replaced my filter with it, without cleaning or disinfecting it. This should've been my cue to leave. I chose to get the paraffin pedicure and I noticed the hot towel got skipped and everything just felt so rushed. The white nail polish I asked came out streaky and chunky on my toes and the lady just left it like that. Didn't even give me a chance to tell her I'd like it to be smoother before she left and started working on another customer. As for my manicure, my nail tech was a bit better. Still very rushed but he took the time to fix my chunky pedicure polish before starting on my hands. When I asked for it to be fixed, the nail techs did look annoyed but ended up doing it anyway. The gel manicure turned out nice as well. Overall, the whole process seemed very rushed and I felt like they were just trying to get people in and out without really giving quality work. The nail tech that did my mani and pedi was so unpleasant and I felt very uncomfortable throughout my service - it's as if they didn't want me there.
