First time here, got a sausage egg and cheese on an Asiago bagel. Everything was dry and flavorless. The sausage was thin and over cooked. The egg was super dry and overcooked. The cheese was pretty much gone because how it was cooked. Just by looking at how everything was being cooked, I knew it would be dry . They were cooking too many things at once and letting them cook forever and not paying attention. Place looked messy and dirty. The Asiago bagel wasn't good either, barely had any Asiago on it. Coffee station is not maintained. The milk dispenser is out of half and half even after I told the staff. I will never visit here again. This place definitely has the best bagels around - they are just perfectly chewy and tasty every single time. I used to stop in every week or so on my way to work but had to stop doing that because I just couldn't get my ass to work on time. Now I just stop in once in a while when I can. I went on the Media Manhattan Bagel website and picked out a standard bagel and cream cheese. When I ordered the bagel and cream cheese, it was almost $3.00 in "upcharges" because he said what I ordered (Asiago) was gourmet. I told him it was listed as standard on the website. He said they are franchises so the website doesn't pertain to them. That is the last time I'll go to ANY Manhattan Bagel, but especially the one in Media PA. I don't understand this place. It seems to change hands between management, ethnicities, and staff as often as daylight savings time switches on and off every year. This time, a totally new crew. Five people and one manager feverishly working and a mini-mob of customers in line. All the workers behind the counters, which meant no one monitored the coffee thermos, a few of which had no coffee. Call it to their attention and panic ensued. Once the coffee situation was adjusted, the place seemed to hum a bit better. Got what I wanted quickly and left. Beware! I've been to other Manhattan bagels and they are good, but NOT this location. Their team does not wear gloves to prepare your food. Never did I see them clean/scrape the grill between orders. They also charge slicing fees lol. We come to this bagel place regularly. The bagels are great and most of the people who own and work at the store are friendly and helpful. However, this morning was a very negative experience. The woman who took my order kicked it off by sighing and rolling her eyes when she heard that I wanted a baker's dozen (guess they prefer egg and cheese orders). Then, when I tried to order 6 of a specific type of bagel, I was told that I couldn't because "other people, regular customers, may want some." There were many left in the bin. Then I was told that the lady ahead of me had already ordered 5, so I could only have 4. What's her order have to do with mine? So I asked for 5 and she huffed and literally threw another bagel in my bag. She didn't speak to me for the rest of the order except to ask what type of cream cheese I wanted and to tell me my total. I hate to be all Karen about it, but you're a bagel store. Your job is to sell bagels. I want to give you my money for those bagels. If you run out, that's not my problem. Make more. These bagels suck. The ones my husband and I had today were very, very tough and chewy, and they were hardly toasted at all. I now get why the woman in front of us ordered her bagel "double toasted." I also got a bagel for the day after we went here (not knowing how terrible they were) and when I tried to cut into it, my serrated knife wouldn't go through. It was the hardest, most rock-like bagel I've ever had the great displeasure of handling. The bagel went straight into the trash can and I went to Acme to get a replacement. We're not from the area. We stopped in because we had a great breakfast at a diffferent Manhattan Bagel. I want to start off by saying we think this place has good bagels and breakfast sandwiches. The reason I give it only 3 stars is because the coffee is LAME and unlike other Manhattan Bagel locations we've been to, there are no gluten-free options. So, if you're not fussy about your coffee (or the selection of) and no one in your party is gluten-free, you can pick up some very tasty bagels and breakfast sandwiches. You'll probably have to eat them somewhere else though. There's one, maybe two little tables, and there outside. read more

I live in Media borough and this place makes the best bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel in the area and believe me there are plenty of choices. The couple that run the place are nice and efficient. Even if there is a line on the weekend they are quick to get your order and get you out the door. I have never strayed from my usual sandwich because it's that good. read more

I'm a regular at Manhattan Bagel. I love bagels but I don't want to eat too many of them, I limit myself and family to about 6 a week on Sundays at about 11:00 AM. The line is regularly out the door. I don't get anything toasted, or egg, or cheese, or lox or any of that stuff. Just bagels, in line 6 bagels out the door. Keep it simple. If your looking for a wonderful sandwich bagel with eggs and bacon and cheese. You can get it but the production is right off the grill and fresh. If you want it FAST go to Dunkin' where is pre made and microwaved and. pretty much a bread sandwich with a hole in it. Manhattan Bagel is the best anywhere they know how to make a bagel and they do it fresh everyday, ten times a day. And off their grill. This is a staple for us prob at least once a week. We live very close to this Manhatteny, as we call it, but in all honesty, I personally have only been in a couple times (my husb is the one that battles the morning frenzy to get there). I usually get the omelette wrap (bacon, egg, and cheese) and my husb gets an egg and cheese on a sesame bagel. We very much enjoy both, obviously, but I must admit we have both had inconsistent service. I enjoy his stories of random weirdo patrons, stressed cooks, and unwilling to help owners, but maybe that's part of the charm? I do have to say the few times I've gone in it's been pretty unremarkable, so maybe if I wish on a shooting star, I won't get the girl the other guy reviewed about. The only reason I went to Manhattan Bagel was because Custom Bagels was closed on Sunday. I will not be going back. Not only did it take forever to get our food, but it was really hot in there. After I paid for our food and went to get our order, the manager made me pay an extra 30 cents because I had told him my girlfriend ordered plain cream cheese when it was actually flavored.
