This place has some of the greatest lobster bisque I have ever eaten. Mango is a funky/arty gem. In the heart of cool old Englewood, Mango stands apart. The menu for breakfast and lunch is vast. I have had the breakfast crepes and they blew my mind. However, my favorite is the lunch combo made up of a cup of the bisque and a half sandwich made on their pretzel bread. This bread tastes like a delicious soft pretzel and is a killer. I have been tempted by the grilled cheese brie sandwich, buy that pretzel always wins in the end. 4 of us for lunch to a very crowded cafe. Seating available was inside unless you wait. Best deals are 1/2 sandwich and soup the whole sandwich and bisque is pricey. The lobster bisque is my all time favorite and alone worth the trip. The sandwiches and wraps are all outstanding. We had breakfast here during a visit to the Englewood Farmers Market. The coffee is great...bold and not wimpy. The food is good too. I had the New Yorker; this was a big bagel with a huge amount of smoked salmon, along with onions, capers, tomatoes and sliced cucumbers. It was a huge serving, easily big enough to share. There is seating inside and on the patio. The patio was very nice, and there are plastic roll down wind screens for cool breezy days, and a patio heater. The waitress was super nice, and just the right amount of attentive. We will definitely be back. read more

Amazing food and coffee!!!! Came for lunch. The place was busy, but they got us seated right away. It was hard to make a choice because everything on the menu looked delicious. I ended up in the hospital from eating here. I cannot personally recommend this restaurant based on my own experience. (A birthday I will never forget for sure.) I recently visited this restaurant in Englewood, FL as I had heard they had some vegan and vegetarian options. Unfortunately for me, their food handling and food safety practices were not good on this visit. To my dismay after a few bites of my kale hummus wrap, I discovered a broken toothpick inside my sandwich, and tragically a piece of it became lodged in my throat. Over $31,000 in hospital bills later, emergency room visit, an overnight stay in the hospital, an emergency endoscopy, and a sore throat for weeks, I received mere apologies from the owners of this establishment, and they noted that they would be "bringing this to the attention of their kitchen staff". When it came time to pay my insurance deductible and co-pays of less than $5000, (I did not request anything for my pain and suffering) they have become unresponsive and have not paid my bill. I do understand accidents can happen, but it's the way a business handles these situations that makes all the difference. Ingesting a toothpick, even a small part of one is a very serious matter. read more

MANGO BISTRO IN ENGLEWOOD FL. They have lots of good reviews, wonder who is writing them? We chose to eat lunch outside and it was clean and quick service. I ordered bowl of Lobster Bisque. Cool when it came to the table and maybe some people like that fishy taste but it's not for me. My wife had the tomato bisque soup and almost to salt6y to eat. She also ordered the Turkey sandwich, clump of sliced thin, turkey lumped up in the middle and nothing on the sides, very dry needed dressing or something. It came served with blue chips and no salsa, BLAH. Our friends had the Portobello Sandwich was very dry and very small for the price. Speaking of price I can buy a lot better sandwich at the local Subway for 1/2 the price. My other friend got the Beef Sandwich and said beef was OK but not a lot of meat on the sandwich. But he's not one to complain. Would I go back? Probably not. read more

Saturday night, we had great service, it was almost 5:30 and we were the only ones there. I had a mangolada, frozen drink , icy and refreshing, my husband had a glass of sangria, said I wouldn't have liked it, it was not on the sweet side. He had the seafood crape and I had the vegetarian Mykanos crape. His was delicious, I had a bite, mine had too much goat cheese for my taste, and along with the bitter greens inside, I did not enjoy it at all, the dinners come with salad on the side,and there were dressing choices on the menu, but our server did not ask what we wanted. This is by far my favorite place in Englewood! The food is original, fresh and very consistent (their lobster bisque is to die for!!), the service is always pleasant ( I became a regular and I love being welcomed by all their friendly personable staff) and the atmosphere is so different from any place in the area. This is a really great place to get healthy food that tastes really great. They offer crepes, as well as salads, soups and wraps. Their lobster bisque is a favorite, and is available by the quart to take home. They also offer frozen drinks, and alcoholic specialty coffees as well as wine and beer. They're only open for dinners on the weekend, when they also have musical entertainment. Weekdays they are only open for breakfast and lunch. They have outdoor seating on Englewoods artsy Dearborn St. I only wish the seating was more comfortable, as it is more of a coffee house seating... relaxed, but difficult to sit up in while eating at the table. Came here for lunch during an arts and crafts show, recommended to us by friends. We loved the food and the casual/friendly ambiance, and will definitely return. We sat outside on the patio. You must try Mago Bistro on Dearborn and Mango St. in Olde Englewood Village. It is a favorite of the locals including my friends and me. I always get the lobster bisque and salad or 1/2 sandwich. My Northern visitors love to come here for lunch, it is quaint and the food is good. Lunch prices are average for this area. In season it is very popular so you might have to wait for a seat. Be aware of crowds in this area on Thursdays for the farmers market, in the park next door, starting in October til spring. read more
